    Heard this same song on a tape from Istanbul, crazy how so much came from Armenia yet the Turks pretend their the first one's in Anatolia, reminds me of the people where I live in Turtle Island (so-called "America"). From a saz player, I appreciate these uploads

      Turks first came to Anatolia in 1000 AD while Armenians have been there for thousands of years before 1000 AD. All these “Turkish instruments” were played and created by native Armenians in Anatolia wayyyyyyy before Turks were a thing

      @@hayots_lernashkharh armenia goes back 2600 years but I truly believe that these instruments originated at different places like china africa and so on and then the styles mixed and mixed until these "modern" versions came to be.

      @@Koropokel I believe Alex P. is correct here. Armenians are one of the natives of (the modern concept of) Anatolia, but these instruments are not Armenian in origin. The duduk (balaban in Farsi, other languages) is Armenian, though. Take pride in what is truly ours... like Eastern Anatolia, and the duduk.

      im looking into playing Saz and Oud. I already own an Oud, but is there a sound difference between Saz’s with and without holes?

    • @justanunusualperson8913
      @justanunusualperson8913 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hayots_lernashkharh I think it's the fact that when there is a hole it sounds a bit deeper and the saz kind off vibrates. But I don't think it can make much of a difference. It's more of a preference to have a hole or not. Also lately I was considering buying an Oud and I am really excited. Is it worth buying and if so is there any tips would you like to give me?
