Bravo Miro!
Miro Petkov is pure music! He left behind all trumpet physical hurdles.
You are musician?
No words....just amazing trumpet playing,what a line, phrase....................wow
Heavenly. When missing your concert in Geneva the other day I tried to imagine how you would have played these solos. I thought I could but had a misgiving that in reality they were even lovelier. And indeed they were! After all, Mahler wrote them for you.
Trumpeters are tought to have a conceptual model of the sound they want to produce. But how can one imagine that a sound like this could even exist on a trumpet? As never one has played like that before it was not possible. Now it is. It is clear that with such a level of excellence it is even no more possible to speak with the ordinary technical words like "Attacks" or "legato" and the like, as they are to weak to describe the reality here. The words lost their sense because the Instrument is directly connected to the soul, this sets a new milestone, Miro changed the paradigm of trumpet playing.
Welcome to Germany. We will teach u how to sound nice. Anyways , Miro Petkov did a great job. Legendary human and trumpeter
I agree with how great Miro is, but you could argue that kind of delicate ethereal style was pioneered by trumpeters decades ago. Maurice Andre is a great example
An ethereal sound for an ethereal work of art !
What a lovely lyrical sound, Miro! So delicate and graceful soaring over a large orchestra. You guys are always making the impossible sound easy.
Amazing bravo!!!!!! Thank for this music you play like an angel fantastic sweet sound.....
Der Trompeter spielt nicht nur, der zelebriert, unheimlich schön 👍 👍 💐💐🎺🎺🎯🎯

Precioso solo de trompeta

Anyone know what happened to the full recording of this performance? 😢I can’t find it anywhere
👏
The great Chung too
I love him!!
Not quite sure which piece the conductur ist in.
Bravo!! Bravi! is there a complete version of this concert??
there is! th-cam.com/video/7NKvBNliyN8/w-d-xo.html

どこのオケですか???
🎺🎵📯🎨🇺🇸
Need to know if Mahler wrote that to be played like a hautbois or more like a trumpet ...
Depends on the preference of the conductor and the trumpet player.
Mahler's scores are usually pretty clear about such matters. But to have a trumpet player who is able to make his brass sound like an oboe is a frickin' amazing thing. Bravo, Miro!!
@@Pavamingo Yes ... but ... a trumpet is a trumpet. He wrote it to be played by the trumpet, not the oboe ..
the trumpet in Mahler Music is maybe the most important instrument and it's so important because the music is sad, grave, very emotional, and the sound of the trumpet embodies a strong subconscious feeling : the death, the irresistible call of the nation and honor, etc ...
@@TJ-ed8xg I wish someone would take a look at the score. I do not own one!
@@Pavamingo In the beginning section of the solo, we see "poco espressivo" (slightly expressive) and "etwas gehalten" (somewhat restrained) in the score. There is also "mit großer empfindung" (with great feeling) towards the end of the section.
I believe Miro is playing what is written in the score with some of his own musical liberties, but as this is still an expressive section I think it fits with what Mahler would have wanted (for the most part, as the trumpets during Mahler's time sounded much deeper and he wasn't the biggest fan of the trumpeters transitioning to more modern instruments because the sound wasn't as robust). This, on top of the fact that Miro is playing on a yamaha (incredibly beautiful instruments, but better known for best intonation and compactness of sound rather than depth and robustness of sound IMO) allows for the trumpet to sound more like an oboe. Modern trumpets are much more versatile than their historic counterparts, but they can still sound just as "trumpety". If you listen to earlier parts of this recording from the whole performance, Miro really does some magic with the power he brings to the brass section while also being camouflage his sound with woodwinds/strings.
A little tidbit - there's a similar section in the first movement of Mahler 5 where the viola and trumpet share a duet and in order to pull it off, the trumpet must really blend in with the viola.
Nice! Nearly as beautiful as when "Bud" Herseth played it. No one will ever beat his version.
Pfff
I'm from Chicago and love the CSO and think the world of the great Bud Herseth, but Miro, at least in this solo passage, puts the trumpet somewhere I didn't know existed. But yes, Herseth is right in there with nuance and gorgeous tone.
@@falesch "...puts the trumpet somewhere I didn't know existed": Exactly what I thought when i heard Herseth play this solo. But they are both great.

Solos. Not solo's. Why would a plural have an apostrophe?
Genitivo sassone
Pipe down and just listen
Pass the Pedanticide….
