Lance Builds are dcoming very soon; probably on the weekend. I had TU5 mostly finished but then this patch dropped. My TU5 Lance builds can be seen in the Community tab.
I have a question do these builds work with frostcraft lai spirt slash and helm breaker because when using lai spirit slash you are always countering so you will not have time to charge it again without sheathing your weapon and they both take a lot of the frostcraft gauge and if you sheath you weapon you will lose wind mantle.
As a Longsword main since Tri, I greatly appreciate the effort and time you put into the rigorous and detailed video. This was very helpful, more so than most other guides I've seen.
I love how thorough you are even with which pieces get what augments. Risen Kushala Glare and Rimeguard Mail get Frostcraft because you will always use those pieces in every build because of their value and versatilaty, and in doing so, you always have 3 levels of Frostcraft even if you try another build before fully augmenting the changed pieces and so you never have to look for Frostcraft more than two times. You didn't put Wind Mantle on the Kush Crus for the Poison/Raw build because you wanted to reuse the same augmented piece when you used the Kush Grande at the same time as it, which would already make it 3 WM on a different set like Water. I am TOTALLY blown away, dude! Major props, and keep up the good work with these fantastic calcs.

Any chance you want to put out a gameplay guide for longsword, specifically about your combos, switch skills and other play information? A lot of weapon guides for MHrise seem to be extremely dated, either from pre-sunbreak or early Title Updates without accounting for recent buffs. Either way, thank you for the great build information and I look forward to the Lance builds you mentioned!

I made a para build with Foray, Build-up Boost, Slugger and Para attack that seems to hit hard or should I say knock out hard! I have thought about adding Sleep attack and make the ultimate knock out build for multi-player. Thanks to this channel for helping me get close to my dream status build.
I really appreciate your data-driven method of making those builds! One question is would you consider getting more unique skills such as Frostcraft or MoHF through the Vigor talismans? In that case, won't the 4-4-4 slots on the new Primordial Malzeno LS be more useful?
I’m following your Megrez build and I got all the pieces but can’t seem to augment the right skills you mentioned on the armor pieces. Any tips? Also, what does slot4/raw6 mean? Weapon slot unlock level 4 and attack boost level 6? Thanks!
@@Monger23Exploit means Weakness Exploit usually, not entirely sure that's what he means but it is generally what people mean when they just say "exploit".
First off, I just wanted to give you a massive shoutout for putting in all this work, it's been so helpful to me. I've a few things I'm curious (qurious) about: -How much uptime do you assume you have on Frostcraft? On Special Sheathe you can get reasonable damage out of it but on Sacred Sheathe I find it only really boosts the Spirit Release, I don't think it's that useful there. -How much better is Flicker Blizzard than Daora's Storm? Storm has 10 more Raw and doesn't need Handicraft to get reasonable Purple with the sharpness you get from adding slots. seeing as you're using Handicraft 3 on the Ice set it feels like you could run Daora instead and spend those points on making up the elemental difference, ending up with 10 more raw. -I think Dragon Conversion is worth running for most elemental builds. On its own its 31.25 element (all resist 10, plus 15 from the blue scroll effect is 125, and DC3 gives you a quarter of that as element), and if you have a charm with some rare points, you can fit Furious 3 which gives 25 more element, so it's what I would replace Frostcraft with on Sacred Sheathe builds. -A slight aside, note that your qurious augments are on a set pool that never changes, so you can do 1000 augs, note what they are, then reset and decide which piece you want each augment on.
Yeah the comment by Anhur describes it pretty well. If it's like like a third of the time, it's still a +10% damage boost which works on raw and elem. This is more and more consistent than what Dragon Conversion can give you. While DC can be improved with more points in Furious, Frostcraft too can be increased with eg. more points in Mail of Hellfire or Powder Mantle which are gonna do more. Daora's is "fine" but consider there's not much more you can do to boost element on the Flicker Blizzard Slash build. Like maybe you can go Element Exploit 3 for another 2% elemn damage? Meanwhile there's quite a significant element difference at base between it and Daora. And it comes with an extra slot too which mitigates the issues with needing more HC.
@@dreamingsuntide1 Did your script find that Dereliction was not optimal for LS after the final update or did you just leave it out for quality of life/Survivability purposes? I only ask because I got a Crit Eye/Dereliction 2-2-2 that i was wondering if I could make use of. Btw love the videos, been watching since TU3
Did you make the imgur album with the skill priority tier list found in the r/MHMeta's Sunbreak Build Compilation? If so it would be nice if the current tier list was readjusted, or there was another one that accounted for element skills like mail of hellfire in blue scroll
Are the augments in the build lists getting those skills without loosing any of the other skills on the armor pieces? I don’t see how all these skills are in the build?
If I do it'll be a long while off; Switch Axe math is insane and it'll take a very committed effort to go into it. For now I really just have to direct y'all to work by EchoesPartOne, Fox Invictus, and KJPang.

Aside from that, I noticed that frostcraft is in every build, is it still effective with the harvest moon+iai playstyle or is it there for us to switch scrolls and use it on large openings? i tgo through it in a video about qurio skills; basically dereliction can't be used at the same time as mail of hellfire; and frostcraft has such high numbers that's it's still good on iai slash
For that set where you didn't augment the waist and put in ele exploit 2 deco. You could augment 1 point of mushroomancer and put in mushroomancer deco 2 and get 10 Xtra max potions. Really nice for multi monster quest in arena or special investigations. Don't have to sacrifice much damage either. I personally would rather get to max hp in one food bite, than need more time/openings to heal in 2 bites. Let's you take more riskier damage opportunities and if you do need to heal, healing to full in 1 bite compared to 2 bites, let's you get back into combat faster.
You say you'll probably run out of money before you run out of essence, 800+ rolls and counting and I'm still missing 2 frostcraft augments and I've ran out essences, still have about 5 mil zenny orz. On the other hand I've also gained the arthritis skill irl from rerolling so much so thats good.

Amazing video, I much appreciate the effort. I'm just getting into Longsword and so built the Magrez poison set. I'm just wondering, are there meant to be a couple spare slots? I have two spare 3 slots, one on my talisman though so more accurately one spare 3 and one spare 2. I just slotted in a Handicraft and a Foray for the sake of it, but is there any intended decorations for those?
17:49 I was using this build but got coalescence as second skill on talisman, Then I give up 1 critical eye+ for jewel for bloodrite+ and critical eye. Keep 100%% affinity thanks to bloodlust
if Unique skills is the better ones, why not use the talisman that has level 3 unique skills then add more unique skills in the Sets with augment, that way you can activate 3 of 3 level of unique skills right?
I have a question, does it matter which pieces of armor you get which augment skills on? Have you've picked those for a specific reason such as the budget for each piece, or are Frostcraft / W. Mantle / P. Mantle and Mail of Hellfire interchangeable on any piece? Cheers, great guide.
Guess it depends on whether you want to reuse pieces in other builds. If you don’t mind extra rolling, then technically it shouldn’t matter which piece gets which augment. With regards to Skills+, he mentioned towards the beginning of the video that the augments were just regular ol' Qurios augments.
Interesting stuff. In your last raw build video you had a table which stated how efficient each skill was. Powder Mantle 2,3 was placed higher than frostcraft 3. So I wonder why you are going for frostcraft 3 here and only powder mantle 1? Would it not be better to go for powder mantle 3 instead?
If you go Powder Mantle 3, then you'll have one more free "Unique Skill", which doesn't really have anywhere super super efficient to go to. Could go another point in Mail of Hellfire instead I suppose, but that's not quite so efficient and a bit more variable.
@@dreamingsuntide1 I see - I think 1 level in heaven-sent could be really good for longsword (for the last "unique skill") as you just have to swap scrolls to regain all your sharpness if you come down to white.
Is it possible to make these builds ? Cuz the Qurios craft thing exchange like Wind mantle for Froscraft or something else like i cant get all the skills
The first point of MoH is great for raw. Later points are great for elem. And Red MoH is a bit more usable (ie the def drop isn't that bad). Basically, I think red is still "on average" better but Blue's still good.
So question. Is it better to augment for element or for raw? I know you have them using element but isn't the raw option more beneficial since LS is more raw focused?
element usually; basically going all raw increases your "average" damage a bit better, yeah, but maxing out elem makes the weapon better in the situations it's already good at; ie it's better it you're making multiple
I was always hoping to do some stuff for it, but I'll be super busy with work around the release. So all I can say is, I hope so, something will come eventually, but it probably won't be for a few weeks.
Purple sharpness? *Too many* slots? Dragon element so strong against most of the hardest bosses? I think I've found a weapon to shoot for. Edit: Primordial Malzeno is kicking my ass, maybe I'll build whatever the second best dragon sword is to try and kill it...
Unfortunately, it is not possible to rebuild these builds, because you always lose abilities during augmentation. Or am I doing something wrong? I am missing for example 1 Wind Mantle and blooddust. ;(
Is it important, that I get the Qurious Armor Crafting skills on those exact pieces? Would be pretty heartbreaking to reroll a rare skill, just because it's the wrong piece?
With rimeguard is it possible to have frostcraft 2 and quick sheathe level 3? Pr do you do skills which deduct quick sheath and add another frost craft
question! how do you get another point of frost craft on the rimeguard mail? i just waste alot of essences trying to get another point and i was not able to get another point of frostcraft.

Is master's touch usually enough to offset the sharpness loss? is that why protective polish is not ran on the best raw builds?

What about Tigrex and Amatsu longsword for pure Raw? (in particular Amatsu for raw + that bit of element damage + silkbind attacks bonus)

Interesting stuff. In your last raw build video you had a table which stated how efficient each skill was. Powder Mantle 2,3 was placed higher than frostcraft 3. So I wonder why you are going for frostcraft 3 here and only powder mantle 1? Would it not be better to go for powder mantle 3 instead?
If you go Powder Mantle 3, then you'll have one more free "Unique Skill", which doesn't really have anywhere super super efficient to go to. Could go another point in Mail of Hellfire instead I suppose, but that's not quite so efficient and a bit more variable.
@@dreamingsuntide1 I see - I think 1 level in heaven-sent could be really good for longsword (for the last "unique skill") as you just have to swap scrolls to regain all your sharpness if you come down to white.
Because frostcraft is only viable at level 3, but powder mantle is still really really good at level 1

For the elemental builds, is it better to be at blue scroll because of MoHF?
The first point of MoH is great for raw. Later points are great for elem. And Red MoH is a bit more usable (ie the def drop isn't that bad). Basically, I think red is still "on average" better but Blue's still good.
So question. Is it better to augment for element or for raw? I know you have them using element but isn't the raw option more beneficial since LS is more raw focused?
element usually; basically going all raw increases your "average" damage a bit better, yeah, but maxing out elem makes the weapon better in the situations it's already good at; ie it's better it you're making multiple
Are you going to be around for Rune Factory 3 when it releases in September?
I was always hoping to do some stuff for it, but I'll be super busy with work around the release. So all I can say is, I hope so, something will come eventually, but it probably won't be for a few weeks.
Purple sharpness? *Too many* slots? Dragon element so strong against most of the hardest bosses? I think I've found a weapon to shoot for.
Edit: Primordial Malzeno is kicking my ass, maybe I'll build whatever the second best dragon sword is to try and kill it...
I assume Prim Malzeno gets the same preference, Silver Severer, as Malzeno?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to rebuild these builds, because you always lose abilities during augmentation. Or am I doing something wrong? I am missing for example 1 Wind Mantle and blooddust. ;(

Is it important, that I get the Qurious Armor Crafting skills on those exact pieces? Would be pretty heartbreaking to reroll a rare skill, just because it's the wrong piece?
Whats that RAMP UP- EXPLOIT? which is the exploit exactly?
So slot 4 raw 6 means rampage slpt 4 times and attack 6 times for a weapon? Also why slots?
With rimeguard is it possible to have frostcraft 2 and quick sheathe level 3? Pr do you do skills which deduct quick sheath and add another frost craft
Frostcraft can go on without any deductions.
question! how do you get another point of frost craft on the rimeguard mail? i just waste alot of essences trying to get another point and i was not able to get another point of frostcraft.

Isn't dereliction also one of the strongest abilities? You get 25 Raw Attack on the blue reel. In addition, you can combine it with Strife.
