    I used 24 gauge wire for the messy wrapped bead but if your fingers are strong enough to handle 22 gauge wire, I highly recommend it. It will make the wrap sturdier and more durable. 😊

    I like that you model your pieces. It really helps to see how the project is going to look when worn. Also I like the idea of crimps on the leather instead of knots. Lots of good ideas in this tutorial!

      Thank you Jan! I think it does help to see how it looks on 😊. I’m not a big fan of knots either. If you try the crimp method, make sure you buy crimps with holes that will accommodate the leather. 🙂❤️🌸

    What an innovative design! I love it. But I think zig-zag wrapping the ivory bead would send me 'round the bend. Still, it's a very effective look. I was thinking that your stepped-nose pliers would work brilliantly on those sometimes pesky fold-over cord ends. And I love to make those rosette head pins. It's wonderfully relaxing to just sit and make them while watching videos, or whatever -- then you've got a supply on hand whenever you might want them. They're a nice added touch. This was a great tutorial, chock full of tips and techniques. Thanks for sharing!

    I *love* all these ideas! Haven't had the nerve to jump into the twisted wire necklace yet, but I can start with the wrapped bead. lol! I really like the crimps on the cord, too. I've never even purchased any cord because I don't care for the looks of all those (usual) knots, but this looks fantastic!! Thanks again for the beautiful video and great ideas. The necklace looks gorgeous on you!

    This is a most interesting necklace. You have integrated so many styles into one extremely beautiful design. The wrapped bead was just so different. I do hope you will keep this necklace and wear it often. It really suits you and sure to be a conversation starter. Good silent advertising for your business as people ask you where you got it from. Hope you are well and happy. Love and hugs 🤗🦘🦘🌺🌺

    • @MistyMoonDesigns
      @MistyMoonDesigns  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jen! Yes absolutely! You want to hear something funny? Here on the East coast, women wear minimal jewelry or no jewelry at all. When I say minimal I mean you literally need a magnifying glass to see it...lol. It’s called “dainty jewelry” or “barely there jewelry”. And I’m not joking either 😂. Is it the same down under? Do Aussie women sport the same trend? 😊❤️🌺🌸🇺🇸🇦🇺🦘

    • @jennyrusso8570
      @jennyrusso8570 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Luisa
      What dirty words, ‘Minimalistic’. or ‘Hardly there’. How do the East Coast Ladies expect us ‘over the top’ Beaders, to showcase our talents. That’s it! You will have to move back to Brisbane. Actually a lot of the young girls/ladies in the City, do go for the ‘it’s there, but I dare you to see it look’. Fortunately the 30’s upwards still like the bling, boho, multi strands etc. I notice the more mature ladies like a bulky necklace of some kind to camaflouge the odd neck wrinkle. Much cheaper than plastic surgery. 😉😉 As I live on the coast, we are probably not quite as minimalistic, thank goodness, as the City girls.
      You just wear that necklace, and you will see them conform to having a Picasso or some other piece of real art around their neck. My goodness how can we put a dent in our copious stacks, if we don’t put dozens or hundreds of beads in one piece.
      🤪🤪🤪🤪💍💍💍💎💎💜💜

    • @karenthomas2302
      @karenthomas2302 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Misty Moon Designs ya that was my biggest problem, I would cut off the tops of the strawberries (a little extra on it) and toss them out to the bunny’s, they also love the greens on them, they really love apples, and cheep lol I use to cut them in half then in quarters, then cut all them in half, they eat the seeds and Stan of them also. lol

    • @MistyMoonDesigns
      @MistyMoonDesigns  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a great idea! We eat strawberries a lot so giving them the tops is a good idea! I’ll have to try giving them apples. I did put some cantaloupe out and they liked it! 😊

  • @StitchesbySharonH
    @StitchesbySharonH 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another gorgeous necklace! I’ve never seen crimps used on leather before - it really does make it more sleek and delicate without the knots. I noticed that you used your regular pliers to crimp them, and not the crimping pliers. Is there a reason why? I’m curious because I’ve used crimp beads on slim beading chain before and once in a while, the crimps actually broke, so I’m wondering if using regular pliers for this would be better? Thank you for sharing your beautiful design with us!

    • @MistyMoonDesigns
      @MistyMoonDesigns  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sharon. Good question! So I crimped them flat with regular pliers because they’re the same color as the leather and small. So they’re not that noticeable. You really can’t use crimping pliers because it would mangle the leather too much. Flattening the crimp is a lot neater and more secure. I would recommend you use high quality sterling silver crimps for beading chain because it’s more malleable but, even then, they may crack if you’re not careful. I personally would not use crimps on beading chain unless the crimp tube is designed specifically for the type of chain you’re using. 😊❤️🌺🌸

      Hi. I agree. This is one of my older videos published over a year ago. I have since upgraded my video and audio equipment. My newer videos are much better quality. If I could fix the audio on this old video, I would. But TH-cam doesn’t have that capability unless I delete it and reload a whole new one which would delete all the comments and views. Plus I no longer have the original video.
