    This may be the only trick how-to that's ever actually taught me something. I've been able to smith grind for 20 some years but never figured out feeble grinds. But the way you describe the "jut your board forward" unlocked it for me. Never even heard the word jut before but I knew what you meant. Did not think I'd be learning any new trick. I usually stick to relearning and combining the ones I already do. And I learned a new word. Amazing breakdown of a trick and the filming was perfect.

  • @ElisainNature

    Is it ok to use the tail to lift the nose over? I see a lot of skaters doing that. And it looks like you´re doing it too..? I thought you was surpose to smash the front truck into the curb so the nose bounces over the curb, and you then fall into a feeble-position..? Nice video! :-)

    • @handywithshovels
      @handywithshovels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I put pressure on the tail to get the front truck over the curb, for sure. Classic FS and BS slappy grinds (50-50) I do not.
      Maybe a person could do a feeble without putting pressure on the tail, but I don’t envision it working. I could be mistaken, though!

    Great tutorial. Is it easier on a straight edge curb (such as the one in the video) as opposed to a more rounded curb? I seem to be getting stuck on my king pin on my rounded curb. Thanks

    • @handywithshovels
      @handywithshovels  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry i didn’t respond earlier. I didn’t initially see your post!
      I’ve never had the opportunity to try a feeble on a curb with a round edge. However, an edu-skated guess is that it would be more difficult to lock on the heel side wheel to hold the desired position.
      As for the kingpin scrub, it definitely is part of the process. It will grind down to where it doesn’t interfere. That’s part of the fun: grinding the ever-loving crap out of our trucks

      @@handywithshovels thank you so much, I will definitely be throwing some business that way, I dig that 9' shovel head shape, you are definitely right about it being a similar flavor! Haha. I am definitely stoked that you turned me onto that site, cool skull graphic, I might pick up a couple of those patches too, and maybe a shirt and hat, haha. How would you compare the quality of the deck you picked up in November to the creature decks???? They make a pretty bold claim, saying their hand glued decks last 3x's as long, and "everlasting pop" haha. How do you feel about that??? You are obviously a great person to get an opinion from, I am definitely going to be checking out your video's, I just subscribed, and I cant wait to get the slappy feeble down, I just started to mess around with approaching the trick yesterday, but it was rainy and I was on my rain board, instead of my daily driver, I really dig your Chanel though, and greatly appreciate you responding to me!!!!

    • @handywithshovels
      @handywithshovels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@zaintaylor2358 the manak boards are beautiful, imo. Each one is done by hand from the raw materials to finished item, so each one is unique. Consequently, the QC is eagle eye and in house. Jonny is a good dude and rad skater, and he skates the boards he makes. In fact, his boards are popular at the parks around San Jose area.
      I haven’t assembled mine just yet (got injured day after Xmas), but look foward to skating it once my cast is off. For me, I’d rather spend a tiny bit more to the guy who is actually making the boards locally. That to me is worth trying it, ya know?
