This poem proves prophetic considering the escalation of police brutality and the murder of unarmed black American men in the last year culminating (but not ending) with the murder of George Floyd. The repetition of "Breath" and phrases akin to "I can't breath", the latter still eerily resounding in our ears as it became the very words Floyd uttered with his last gasps for air, sends chills down my spine and breaks my heart all over again.
Talk to the racists of the world if you want these type of poems to stop.I WILL ALWAYS YALK about my skin color because its BEAUTIFUL despite what my people are told on a daily basis since weve arrive in chains to this country
Im not talking about white.And trus trust me,your plight is miniscule in comparison to ours.When u leave these type of comments, you minimize our message.stop.
