Skipping may not be caused by scratches, unless it's very scratched. Usually the parity or data copy is picked up sp it matches the original, you need more scratches than you think to actually affect the reading integrity
Normally also use polishing compound too. The actual sanding is limited, and using extra fine discs. The scratch resistant means the data are stored in what is called parity, meaning if part of the data is unreadable, either it can be reconstructuednotlr there is a copy of it. They are quite resistant to the data loss, so it can still be lossless. Even though with just audio, you might not hear much change , especially because of that parity.
Can I enter a store that has one of these and ask to have some CD's fixed? Paying of course, I just want to know if that kind of service can be expected from a nice retro game store. I know these machines are expensive and are to be used mostly for the business owner. Just wanted to know, thanks!
