      Have you ever considered that having people in the offices will give jobs to the support staff of the building, restaurants and will turn the cities back into thriving centers? If we need jobs for people who are not college educated we have to create the environments. Business people can work anywhere with a laptop but a janitor needs a building to clean, a security guard needs a building to work in.

    Um no! Absolutely not! If people have to go back into the office it’s NOT employees obligation to feed or support local businesses! People bring your lunch, do not waste your time or money you don’t have on sub shops, restaurants, and other local businesses. You owe them nothing. With the amount of money employees will be spending on commuting, gas, and everything else they will need to save their money for their own families. Don’t do it!

    • @patrisio3
      @patrisio3 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@celestialtl At least you weren't getting to work at 8am to go for coffee at a nearby coffee shop or breakfast at a nearby restaurant and not starting work until 30-40 mins later; chatting (at water coolers, hallways, stairwells, cube/personal office); taking 70-80 minute lunch breaks at nearby restaurants; leaving 30 mins early to get to Happy Hour at a bar near the office; and leaving the computer at the office at 5pm never to be near it again until the next day like a lot of people do. The field that I am in has a lot of deadlines and milestones. So while working from home without all kinds of distractions, people just work more to get ahead of the due dates. And the more they work, the more handoffs they create for others. And the more handoffs received, the more people work just to keep up. Although I will have to get up an hour earlier, it won’t bother me too much for everyone to go back because we will go back to working 40 hours instead of 50+. The only problem right now is that my office became so productive that our leaders got rid of a lot of rental office space (we are in a rental, not a federal building), furniture, equipment, and supplies. It didn’t make sense to spend taxpayer money for things not needed. So now we don’t have enough room and items for everyone to come back full time. It will take time (and taxpayer money) for all of us in my office to go back.

    There are states/ counties or cities/ towns where it is too expensive for regular federal employees many with families have to live and work so either the federal agencies pay for the cost of living or relocation those agencies to more affordable areas. Good example: Bozeman, Montana; with average home prices $950,000 and high taxes, HOAs, cost of living, solution would be to relocate or shutdown any federal agency in the city or county. Bozeman isn’t consider for increase pay adjustment because it is not recognized as cities such as Denver, Seattle or Portland, LA or NYC. Yes…it’s between a town and a sleepy backwards city.
