- In this episode we get into the build by stripping the old drivetrain, front clip and bed to get the chassis cut down for a short bed conversion, along with installing the TCI rear 4 link and coil-over kit. We also gave the explorer 8.8 axle a facelift, along with re-drilling the axle shafts to the GM bolt pattern.
In part 1 we got the new drivetrain ready by rebuilding the 4L60E and installing a cam the 5.3 LS for Fred's 1950 A.D. Chevrolet pickup. The 47-53 Advanced design trucks are among my favorite body styles, and we've got some killer plans for this one.

nice video, great build

Excellent work!
Just curious why you chose not to use a C4 Independent rear assy .
Loving the build thanks for sharing
mainly because available gear ratios aren't great for them, but nobody makes a kit for the 3600 frame.
Definitely get a website going for motor mounts and other fabricated parts for this build. How to manual($$$), with pictures pulled from your videos. I have an old ratty 84 Vette just begging to be reincarnated into something more useful.

Why not corvette in the back?
mainly because available gear ratios aren't great, and the 8.8's are tough as nails
