HI! OB/GYN here! We use those surgical brushes you have just to clean our hands. The side with the bristles is for cleaning your nails, and then the sponge side for your fingers/hands/forearms. For cleaning the patient's skin pre-op, there are actually different sponge sticks we use (chlorhexidine prep sticks) - for example, to be used on a patient's abdomen just prior to starting a surgery. @Sarah Cooper I did too but I also used one for bath time when she was a newborn baby, just when washing her hair to keep the cradle cap away. That's how i saw the NICU nurses use them also.
Chlorhexidine is amazing, I get such horrible Eczema on my hands and ever since I started permanently washing my hands with a 3% Chlorhexidine soap it's never come back. It's the same stuff used in the hospital here and elsewhere (Bioscrub).

I'm an occupational therapist and work with kids, and several of their caregivers have mentioned that they love to watch forms of ASMR videos on TH-cam (they may not describe it as ASMR but the details they mention the types of videos). I thought it was so interesting that these kiddos were naturally drawn to ASMR for sensory even though they didn't realize it. I love this channel and use this brush and joint compressions regularly with so many patients! I would love to give suggestions because I have so many ASMR therapy related ideas lol
Gibi! I'm a licensed Occupational Therapist and thinks makes my heart so happy. These are ALL tools that an OT would use, depending on their clients/setting. I use some of the teethers with my clients (toddlers) all the time! And the brushes are definitely used for the Wilbarger protocol you talked about, so fascinating. There are all kinds of rules and patterns for that protocol for when you are brushing them on a person (what direction to go in, whether you can brush over bare skin or clothes, etc). So exciting to see little bits of our OT world out in an ASMR video!
Eeyyy! I’m a second year OTD student and I agree, it’s always great for OT to get more attention. Some of these things we JUST learned about in class, which is kinda funny that I’m seeing it now! 💁🏻♂️
Hey there I'm a US Army medic and in austere conditions we use those brushes for both our hands and our patients. Before certain minor surgical procedures we use them to get as close to sterile conditions as we can in the field, but most of ours are impregnated with Iodine. We also will use them in nuclear, biological, and chemical attacks to decontaminate patients before we can work on them. I hope you found that interesting. I love your content and it really helps to soothe my mind before sleep. Keep it up!
Duuuude thank you for shouting out occupational therapy/therapists. Sometimes it feel like this community is kind of overshadowed by others. It’s really cool to get some inspiration from your video. P.S. Thanks for giving me some ideas for OT techniques. I have a project due soon, and I may use some of this stuff to help out with that.
I went to occupational therapy for sensory processing disorder (to help learn to cope with it), and I have one of the surgical brushes for brushing and stimming with! It really helps and Ive heard a lot of people use them, never seen it in a youtube video tho :)
@@gayjayy I personally like them, but they are in the middle of rough and soft. Depending on which way you brush with the bristles it’s softer or rougher
Ah, the surgical brushes. When I was a kid I had a lot of sensory overload issues and those things really helped me calm down. I had a routine where I used those on my arms every night before I went to bed to clear my head, and it really helped, not sure why even stopped. Thanks for bringing back good memories!
as a person with adhd and severe anxiety, your videos have always helped me deal with it and it's something I've had to deal with my entire life so it's nice to have found someone who can help.
For your friend who bites their nails, you can get special chewing jewelry! Pendants, bracelets and rings made of safe chewable materials. My friend who would compulsively bite their wrists found the chewable bracelets so helpful. The jewelry format makes them convenient and a bit more subtle.
@@jazzyirwin9631 I went on Etsy and searched "chewlery", and a lot of shops popped up. I bought an Oreo one from ChewsMe, which is a great shop with lots of charms, beads, etc. Definitely worth checking out!!

As I read the comments I’m happily surprised to find the many other individuals who have autism, and as a fellow autistic person myself I feel very excited to know I’m not alone here! I loved reading the comments that share similar experiences and stories of sensory needs and the importance of asmr in the lives of everyone who are autistic like me! Asmr has always been my comfort no matter what negative mood I’m facing I always turn to asmr and it never ever fails me. I go through a lot of burnouts and I also struggle with other major mental health illnesses so to be able to have this place to go where I can be calmed by TH-camrs doing asmr really really helps me through my day to day struggles. Thank you Gibi I’ve been subscribed for almost 5 whole years!! You’ve helped me through highschool and now throughout college!!! ❤❤❤
It would definitely be cool to see some more videos of different asmr items that you have bought and you describing them. I love the rambling type asmr videos. Also glad to see more ear to ear videos since they are my favorite asmr videos.
💜 Thank you sooo much Gibi! I have struggled with oral fixation my whole life (nails, clothes, pencils, & I can’t count how many Polly pocket shoes & pencil grips I have accidentally swallowed!) unfortunately it transferred over to eating as well & now I have alot more problems than before. My little sister also used to have a surgical scrub brush to help with her sensory processing issues & unfortunately it was lost to time & I had no hopes of getting a replacement for her! This shop is a godsend for my family & I am so thankful you’ve brought it to our attention! 😁💜
When you started going slower with the body tappers, it was amazing. The slow visual and the little quiet “tap……tap…..tap” was soooo pleasing. Loved it!
I’m an SLPA (speech therapist) and I love seeing some of these fun sensory toys. LOVE the biting/chew items for sensory seekers. Biting something provides significant sensory input and really helps with oral fixations!
Heeyyy! I’m an OTD student! I’m actually working with some SLPs at an autism center and you guys do great stuff! Always nice to bring more awareness to these things 💁🏻♂️
I’m in school to become an occupational therapy assistant and happen to be working on a huge project at the moment- and went to put on asmr to help me focus on what I’m doing and how neat to find this is the last video you posted!
Thank you for creating such a safe space for your viewers. I was diagnosed with ADHD late in life, and am self diagnosed Autistic, and no matter what type of ASMR you are doing, you have always been so good at welcoming people in… This video is like the icing on the cake- falling asleep to sounds made with sensory tools… I never would have imagined feeling so seen and included by a stranger on the internet. Your videos introduced me to ASMR, and I remember back then feeling so grateful to finally have the help I needed to sleep… but now- what I’m getting at is that your channel has ALWAYS been inclusive, but as you’ve grown as a person over the years and have opened up a tiny bit about your ADHD, your channel has grown with you. And I don’t think there are words for how much I appreciate it. I’m honestly so grateful for all the work that you do. And good lord, I hope all of that made sense! Lol
Wow, when you were brushing the surgical brush on your hands, I noticed your engagement and wedding rings and OH MY GOODNESS THOSE ARE GORGEOUS!!! that is SUCH a beautiful ring combo and it looks amazing on you 🤍🤍🤍 edit: getting further into the video this is by far the best video I've ever seen on your channel it was absolutely incredible
My gramma had those sergical brush and NOTHING gets dirt off your skill and out from under your nails better. They are magical and I had no idea what or where they are from! Thaank you!!!!!
ASMR has become one of my go-to things to listen to. It's so much more than just for sleep for me, it's background noise and sounds for whatever I'm doing, from gaming to work to reading stuff online. Honestly, it rivals minecraft background music! and this video has the perfect mix of sounds and whispers that is so incredibly tingly, I love this one
This might sound weird (and I don’t even know if possible) but I would LOVE a video that is just exclusively Gibi doing ads. I always find her ad sections one of my favourite triggers for some reason and end up rewatching the same part many times 😴😴
I immediately recognized that white brush on the left side of the thumbnail, I used to brush myself with that before I put on my clothes because if I didn't I would be extremely overwhelmed by the feeling of the clothes. Thank you so much for that nostalgia or mine, I still have the brush to this day actually.
Hey Gibi, I just wanted to say, thank you for making ASMR videos! I’m in year 7, and I’m sort of struggling with my new school, (like I know my way around and stuff but I’m still scared) I also have anxiety, so thank you so much for the ASMR videos! :D
The Special Ed department at the high school I used to work at used those surgical brushes for sensory brushes for some of the students! The aids would use them to lightly brush on their skin to help keep them calm and regulated ❤️
I love the surgical brushes. I often brush myself with them, or I use them as a way of tactile stimming. I don’t know if it’s ok to do that or not though. I just love how soft they are.
It's so nice to see that Gibi's amazing content helps a lot of people with mental health issues such as ADHD and Autism etc! And I can confirm as a person who suffers from them myself her videos are very calming, sleep inducing and overall just really nice! It is also good that it seems she enjoys making them too. Thank you for another amazing vid Gibi!
as a child I ent to a occupational therapist and she gave me one of these brushes and omg the physical sensation these brushes gave me as a child was chefs kiss
Hi Gibi, I'm actually an occupational therapist and have performed the Wilbarger brushing protocol for children with autism and ADHD in the past and I've found consistent use of it can help with task attention, emotional regulation, and also with tactile defensiveness/sensory aversions. Love that you included this - so cool! And so cool that you researched it.
So honored and blessed you are familiar with OT. I’m an occupational therapist and I also love asmr! I just started a job with kids and a lot of my treatment involved triggers. Love it 🥰
Gibi!!! I can't get my head around the fact that your videos are not only not excessive, but they are universally pleasing and relaxing! Thank you for another great day
I made rainbow rice at home for my child this year! At 1 teaspoon of vinegar with drops of what ever color you want (I would use 4 drops). After that's mixed add the rice. Shake the bag until the color is evenly disbursed. Then dump onto a paper towel and smooth into a thin layer to dry overnight. Repeat for each color you want and then combined in a zip lock bag the next morning. 🤷♀️
I love this, especially the chewing objects!!! I've bought several things I've enjoyed from Stimtastic in the past; unfortunately they're on hiatus/closed it seems. But for anyone looking for chewing objects that might be more "socially acceptable", try looking around for chewable jewelry; there are lots of designs that can be passed off pretty easily as normal jewelry (just make sure you're buying from a reputable source that's using the proper materials, generally food-safe silicone)
Yes please Gibi, do a full video! Thanks for your awesome channel and personality. It actually is really helpful in dealing with everyday stress and anxiety.
Far out the biting items are a game changer, unlocked a core memory of before I realised I had sensory sensitivities(and also bad teeth and jaw pain since I was young) I would get in weird zones where all I wanted to do was chew on something to relieve stress and help my teeth. I’ve not had that need for many years but seeing those tools made me instantly want to chew them😂 So fascinating!
I relate to this do much, I had such badly impacted wisdom teeth before I got them surgically removed. I used to destroy pens and pencils, pen caps etc. Anything that could be chewed or bitten would be in my mouth in an instant lmao. It's reliving not having that pain or desire to chew/bite anymore though!!
Hospital Pharmacy Technician here. We use those exact surgical brushes to clean hands/forearms with Chlorhexidine before preparing IV medicine in our sterile room. Who knew they made such great tools for ASMR as well. This is my favorite video yet. 💤💤
My niece was born premature and we used those brushes on our hands to get under the nails and get dead skin off to be fully cleaned before visiting her in the hospital.
i work with autistic/high support needs kids and am autistic myself, and i see almost all of these on a daily basis! brushing is next level good 🤤 and all my kiddos have chewys, and so do i. sensory relief does wonders!
I am autistic, and ASMR is good to relax me or when I am overwhelmed as it fully occupies my senses and is very relaxing, and you are definitely my favorite person to go to!
The Surgical Brushes were definitely my favorite, I already liked them a lot in the recent Layered Sounds video, so it was nice to hear them again so soon in this one Gibi, especially the part where you put them together, and then also when you did a little Invisible Triggers part with them 😌. The Calming Body Tappers, Microfiber Cloth and Heat Sensitive Foam Pad were also really good, the Pad looked so cool. Also, I love the idea you had of pouring the Rainbow Rice on a microphone in a possible future video, it would probably sound amazing, just like the ideas of how to use the Chewing Objects in many different ways you had while using them. So yeah, I'm really happy you're planning on making more videos with these soon 😊.
My 3 year old son is on a sensory diet, and we just started The Wilbarger Protocol with those brushes. We do this every 90 minutes for the next 2 weeks and will slowly go longer periods of time. It instantly calms him down and keeps him focused, it’s truly amazing
As a speech-language pathologist, I’ve used brushing as a way to provide sensory input that assists the client’s brain in understanding where the body is in space (proprioception). That input is calming and can increase the ability to focus and maintain attention. Love the additional education you provided in this video, Gibi. Anything we can learn about tools and resources others need in order to better navigate life allows us to be more compassionate and understanding people.
I'll be honest please do make a video solely on the surgical brushes For the first time in a year they gave me tingles And I agree that they are super amazing triggers
Got hella overstimulated earlier today (3rd day home from college) and had to basically flee a simple chill hangout time and felt embarrassed but overwhelmed and watched this twice. It really helped, thank you.
Both my sons are Autistic and have sensory issues sometimes they are over sensitive and sometimes need sensory input as well as just enjoying sensory stuff. They use most of these products for calming themselves, stimulating themselves etc. Great video.
I would loooooove more content with the corn brushes and the sensory rice! The rice sounded so nice when you were pushing it around in the bowl with your fingers, I think the fingers sounded better than the stylus.
I really liked the corn brush as a personal attention trigger combined with the noise. I think a lot of these would be really good in a mechanic/"fixing you" video. The drizzl was very satisfying to watch lol
The surgical brush technique they use on little kids for sensory! I have some at home for my son. You apply pressure and the technique you just used with pulling on the joints helps him with over stimulation. It's very relaxing
Do you think they could help me when I’m having symptoms of complex PTSD? Like if I am trying to calm down from having flashbacks. Or is that abusing the technique?
Idk what other ppl think, but I really liked the "calming body tappers" preferably if you pretended to tap on us but I also really like the slow tapping them together :)
OMG I could watch an entire video just with those Body Tappers with you just tapping the screen (or maybe mics?). Those couple of taps in front of the camera was all I needed to become completely hypnotized.
VIDEO IDEA✨ Another video idea i would think would be something interesting to see is one of your characters such as grim working a new job that they may necessarily not fit / choose (basically and opposite) as i think it would be really cool how Youd perceive a charter in that situation. (For an example: grim currently works in a magical shop in a small town and as a new job he could be working in something more modernised such as a hotel worker in the city) i would love to see this and i hope i can inspire you !
Hi Gibi! So several of these items were used with my son in therapy. He struggles with Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder. They teal chew thing, the nuk massager, the surgical scrub brushes were all items used with my son by several different therapists. So they definitely use items like these to help people. One thing I was curious about that you didn't mention, was if the chew thing actually tasted like mint?? I think my favorites from this video were the circle pouches, surgical brushes, foam/dough, and foam heat sensitive pad. Thanks again for the creative video. Love you Gibi!
The doodley-type microfiber is called Chenille Microfiber. Also the reason you tend to feel negatively toward microfiber is because cheap microfiber feels very rough and catches the skin on your hand, with a very unpleasant dry/scratchy sensation. What you need to do is feel some quality microfiber, it's magical.
Anyone else keep coming back to gibi’s videos bc no matter what time of day they can always help you fall asleep especially when you’ve forgotten what it’s like to genuinely be happy and sleep is your only escape.
I just love your channel. I don’t always love every upload but I do love a majority of your videos and your channel overall and you’ve inspired more than you’ll ever realize :) thank you Gibi for everything you do to keep up calm and relaxed

There are all kinds of rules and patterns for that protocol for when you are brushing them on a person (what direction to go in, whether you can brush over bare skin or clothes, etc). So exciting to see little bits of our OT world out in an ASMR video!
Also the "depressor" part of the grabber would be the plunger, if I'm not mistaken!
Eeyyy! I’m a second year OTD student and I agree, it’s always great for OT to get more attention. Some of these things we JUST learned about in class, which is kinda funny that I’m seeing it now! 💁🏻♂️
16:30 is so nice to me oh my god, something abt the tap noises with her whispering and then the check in just makes my brain very happy
As someone who is ESL, the subtitles are a tremendous help and being so well made they really add to the ASMR :)
I think I have watched this at least 14 times and it’s only been a month the something about the softness in the mic quality 😫✨ so many nice tingles
i have watched it everyday at least once a day
As an autistic person this is just what I need. I just know it'll provide me so much comfort for many nights.Thankyou Gibi
Eeyyy! Fellow OT student 😎
I went to occupational therapy for sensory processing disorder (to help learn to cope with it), and I have one of the surgical brushes for brushing and stimming with! It really helps and Ive heard a lot of people use them, never seen it in a youtube video tho :)
Are the bristles rough?
@@gayjayy I personally like them, but they are in the middle of rough and soft. Depending on which way you brush with the bristles it’s softer or rougher
I did the same thing when I was really little and I made my mom take the brush and use it on my arms and back every night when I was going to sleep
i remember i used it every day when I was really young and i’m pretty sure we lost it when we moved… i haven’t seen it since i was 9.
OH MY GOSH I HAVE SPD! glad im not the only gibi fan with diagnosed spd =D
Ah, the surgical brushes. When I was a kid I had a lot of sensory overload issues and those things really helped me calm down. I had a routine where I used those on my arms every night before I went to bed to clear my head, and it really helped, not sure why even stopped. Thanks for bringing back good memories!
I had those brushes from occupational therapy for sensory processing disorder and every night I had my mom brush my arms and back to help me sleep
as a person with adhd and severe anxiety, your videos have always helped me deal with it and it's something I've had to deal with my entire life so it's nice to have found someone who can help.
For your friend who bites their nails, you can get special chewing jewelry! Pendants, bracelets and rings made of safe chewable materials. My friend who would compulsively bite their wrists found the chewable bracelets so helpful.
The jewelry format makes them convenient and a bit more subtle.
Sorry to bother! I also have a issue like this! What are these called or where are they sold?
@@jazzyirwin9631 I went on Etsy and searched "chewlery", and a lot of shops popped up. I bought an Oreo one from ChewsMe, which is a great shop with lots of charms, beads, etc. Definitely worth checking out!!
@@jazzyirwin9631
Etsy, Amazon, etc
Hell, you can probably but some teething lanyards in the baby section at your local department store (less subtle, but just as good!)
that is so random I'd never heard of that before chewable jewelry XD where do you get it?
lmfao
Absolutely LOVE the surgical brushes. Gives great tapping and brushing tingles. We need more of this. Keep it up Gibi. ❤️
I love your trigger videos they always give me the most tingles! Excited for this you’re a huge inspiration for my asmr channel!
new sub here!
agreed! you have some great roleplays
Thank you for creating such a safe space for your viewers. I was diagnosed with ADHD late in life, and am self diagnosed Autistic, and no matter what type of ASMR you are doing, you have always been so good at welcoming people in…
This video is like the icing on the cake- falling asleep to sounds made with sensory tools… I never would have imagined feeling so seen and included by a stranger on the internet.
Lol
yo not to hate but like, don’t self diagnose mental disorders
@@boojaballs self diagnosis in the autism community is valid.
@@boojaballs
Self diagnosis for autism is 1000% valid and sometimes completely necessary. It is wildly under diagnosed in teens and adults.
Wow, when you were brushing the surgical brush on your hands, I noticed your engagement and wedding rings and OH MY GOODNESS THOSE ARE GORGEOUS!!! that is SUCH a beautiful ring combo and it looks amazing on you 🤍🤍🤍
edit: getting further into the video this is by far the best video I've ever seen on your channel it was absolutely incredible

good luck fellow year 11 student!
Bless Gibi for posting and justifying me taking a midday nap 🎉

I immediately recognized that white brush on the left side of the thumbnail, I used to brush myself with that before I put on my clothes because if I didn't I would be extremely overwhelmed by the feeling of the clothes. Thank you so much for that nostalgia or mine, I still have the brush to this day actually.
Hey Gibi, I just wanted to say, thank you for making ASMR videos! I’m in year 7, and I’m sort of struggling with my new school, (like I know my way around and stuff but I’m still scared) I also have anxiety, so thank you so much for the ASMR videos! :D
Year 7 is difficult and it may not all work out but at least there will always be Gibi videos
Good luck to you, next few years will be rough

This vid is so classic: The nail colour, the curtain in the back... kind of nostalgia... love this !
The Special Ed department at the high school I used to work at used those surgical brushes for sensory brushes for some of the students! The aids would use them to lightly brush on their skin to help keep them calm and regulated ❤️
Yupp I like those surgical brushes
I love the surgical brushes. I often brush myself with them, or I use them as a way of tactile stimming. I don’t know if it’s ok to do that or not though. I just love how soft they are.
Me personally it’s the calming body tappers doing a role play asmr out of it would be so relaxing 😌
That’s so cool! I’m an OTD student and we just learned about the brushes and they’re so relaxing!
I think that little grabby claw thing might make a great "Deep Stress Extractor" for our favorite bespectacled anxiety treatment specialist.
And so cool that you researched it.
the blue circles were such good visuals especially tapping close to the camera
So honored and blessed you are familiar with OT. I’m an occupational therapist and I also love asmr! I just started a job with kids and a lot of my treatment involved triggers. Love it 🥰
4 yrs with you and the videos are still the best out here.
Gibi!!! I can't get my head around the fact that your videos are not only not excessive, but they are universally pleasing and relaxing! Thank you for another great day
I love the fact that you talk through it all! I don’t get enough stimulation otherwise! So this is perfection for me❤️❤️❤️
The purple lighting is immaculate
Gibi was one of the first asmrist I listened to and up to today still one of my favorites
47:40 is the best sound I’ve heard in my life
I made rainbow rice at home for my child this year!
loved the anticipatory triggers like the the calming body tappers 😍 almost fell asleep at 17:50
I love this, especially the chewing objects!!!
I’ve not had that need for many years but seeing those tools made me instantly want to chew them😂
So fascinating!
I relate to this do much, I had such badly impacted wisdom teeth before I got them surgically removed. I used to destroy pens and pencils, pen caps etc. Anything that could be chewed or bitten would be in my mouth in an instant lmao. It's reliving not having that pain or desire to chew/bite anymore though!!
so* much I'm overtired as hell I'm sorry lol
Hospital Pharmacy Technician here. We use those exact surgical brushes to clean hands/forearms with Chlorhexidine before preparing IV medicine in our sterile room. Who knew they made such great tools for ASMR as well. This is my favorite video yet. 💤💤
My niece was born premature and we used those brushes on our hands to get under the nails and get dead skin off to be fully cleaned before visiting her in the hospital.
12:37 i love the pure agressive love she has for these brushes
The surgical brushes with the sponge on the back is what we received when I had my two children. They used them for their first bath 💗
I really really like the calming body tappers! Every once in a week I go to this video and go right to that part of the video. Love it!
We love a long content Queen,🌟 it takes me upwards of 30min to fall asleep so these long videos are absolutely perfect 🎧🫶🏼✨
I agree 💯. I'm exactly the same.
i work with autistic/high support needs kids and am autistic myself, and i see almost all of these on a daily basis! brushing is next level good 🤤 and all my kiddos have chewys, and so do i. sensory relief does wonders!
i loved the 'calming body tappers' and the 'water bead pouch'!
I am autistic, and ASMR is good to relax me or when I am overwhelmed as it fully occupies my senses and is very relaxing, and you are definitely my favorite person to go to!
These whispering videos are so nice! Thanks pal 😁
I’m a Doctor of Occupational Therapy Student and LOVED seeing some of the tools we use like those brushes incorporated into ASMR!! So cool!!
I feel like sponsoring gibi is lucrative because she shows them off so well and I always listen to ot because of the asmr it's so good
My 3 year old son is on a sensory diet, and we just started The Wilbarger Protocol with those brushes.

And I agree that they are super amazing triggers
Gibi is the only youtuber I would watch the whole entire ad of
Got hella overstimulated earlier today (3rd day home from college) and had to basically flee a simple chill hangout time and felt embarrassed but overwhelmed and watched this twice. It really helped, thank you.
The thermal pad scratching sound is amazing.
The plastic bead pouch is my absolute favorite trigger now! Thank u for showing us all of the things u used here
I’m a second year OTD student and we JUST learned about the brushes! What a coinkydink 💁🏻♂️
I'm so ready for the series of these items!! They're all so amazing!! It seems like I fall in love with a different item each time I watch. LOVE it!!!
More tapping on the plastic of those brushes please!
The sound of the water bead pouch as it's shaken is amazing! 🤯
I am a special education teacher and we use many of these items for our students. There are so many sensory items out there. Love the brushes!
VIDEO IDEA✨
Another video idea i would think would be something interesting to see is one of your characters such as grim working a new job that they may necessarily not fit / choose (basically and opposite) as i think it would be really cool how Youd perceive a charter in that situation.
Anyone else keep coming back to gibi’s videos bc no matter what time of day they can always help you fall asleep especially when you’ve forgotten what it’s like to genuinely be happy and sleep is your only escape.
i really enjoyed the body tappers, slow and fast! ❤
I just love your channel. I don’t always love every upload but I do love a majority of your videos and your channel overall and you’ve inspired more than you’ll ever realize :) thank you Gibi for everything you do to keep up calm and relaxed
Doing the tappers slow was a game changer lol
