Putting those Old World models on circular bases has me thinking that this guy had a hand in Princess Diana’s untimely death.

and why is the rattie from all the species more happy about it? Did ya want gobbos on your tunels again and orcs roaming around waiting for all ya come out thanks to the squiggs?
It is amazing how quickly a wash can punch up an adequate paint job. I thought you where going to strip them and repaint them, but I was surprised how well they look with the original colors.

For these kinds of videos I would really like to see side-by-side comparisons of the initial and finished products. Otherwise it is hard to recognize all the subtle changes that have been made to the miniatures.
Definitely good feedback and something I thought in editing. I wish I’d put them on the turntable before the painting. Will do that next time.
I've been subscribed to Avatars of War for around 12-13 months now, and they're currently releasing a bunch of ork-related stuff. While there aren't any ranged units or artillery for the orks, they have melee units, boar riders, bosses on foot, boars, and a wyvern, and a recent chariot. Goblins have all this plus ranged and a new artillery piece. The style is inspired by older GW stuff.
This is a neat project idea, and I should do something similar with the 40k orks and fantasy skaven that I had started to acquire in the 00s.
I’m subscribed to them as well and I really need to find the time to print off their save orcs! Yeah this kind of project is a lot of fun 😄
Cool video. I do this too. I'll buy stuff off of ebay that are mostly painted and touch up the edges and add a wash and highlights. Saves me tons of time and I'm very happy with my army.
I hope you would be a biggger channel. Also can you make a Horus Heresy Army?

you said you had some stuff still on sprues. You should make a video where you build the sprues.
Nice that you mention !"The Ugly Stage", I was thinking about that too as I passed it.. I hate it, makes me slow.. Yet I know it will be good with washes and high-lights! So glad I push on.. ;)
It’s such a real thing 😂 it’s why I often do a first paint on just one model, so that way I can always look at the finished thing when painting the other gazzilion models and know they will all get better.

I was bad at getting stuff painted back in the days due to that and the ´eavy Metal Syndrome.. Goes a bit better these days. ;)
Made an Orc Mordheim Warband this summer that I was kinda happy with and thenn figured out I should continue with a proper WHFB army..
New sub.I found all my old dwarves & empire....I used to think i had done a darn good job.....Young me was
wrong....so very wrong! 😄🤣
Our young selves were so easily impressed with our painting “skills” 😂

Doing something similar, but I don´t have my old stuff left.. Just finishing off 20 Orcs with spears & shields.. Then it is 30 Night Gobbos..

I stripped mine in IPA, broke apart some bonds (seems like the friend I got them from had used super glue which I managed to mostly break apart in a long AIP bath . with some violence).
He had glued some Orcs weird, the ball and socket not correct so sawed those apart, removed some plastics and re-glued.. With some spares from 40k I managed to get a full 20 Orc spear unit 8three at the back with two choppas..) with a banner from some plastic Black orcs as well as adrum.. pretty pleased with it and I enjoyed it, getting old, badly assembled and painted orcs back together.

sad that when 'old world' comes out you will have to re-base your figs to be allowed to play...
Most likely but I've found some great regiment trays that have slots for round bases and the trays are rectangle, so it still allows for regiment play. Also, I don't really play too much yet.

This was a cool video until you put them on round bases. Bizarre choice.
I've been doing that mostly because I have a whole load of the round bases. Plus I quite like them for being able to switch between skirmish and regiment. Got some fantastic regiment trays that are still rectangle but have round slots so gives me best of both.
@@GrayScalpMiniatures No worries. Do what you prefer. I like the way square bases look ranked up. And they work fine in skirmish games too. I use my square based Chaos Daemons in 40k.
I have that orc leader that's holding a human head. I use him in D&D to terrorize my players.
