The Canyon Stitch 1080 drift machine looks like some epic fun.... if you could get some peddles welded to the front wheel and shrink the back wheels you would have the ultimate Big Wheel....just a suggestion.... cheers 🇨🇦
@@SamPilgrim hey Sam Hope this is you someone tried to scam me using your name check my comment it is a bit further up they just made their account today just letting you know don’t worry mate obviously don’t blame you I know there’s lots of scammers going on at the moment by the way great video those drift trikes are really fun
Yes! Drift trike to the max, love it-- can't wait for the next version! Your idea of putting plastic blocks under the tires reminded me of something my bmx buddy used to do-- call it the Dewey slide-- full speed skid hitting the back brake right as you approach a small square of cardboard laying on the ground, sending you into a super long skid if you find the right spot :) Was always a classic move when we were riding behind shopping centers with good sturdy cardboard for us to use
Delrin! Great high density plastic that people use in industry for wear surfaces. If you want a single slippy surface, you could just mount a big lump of the stuff to a rim in one spot. To get it around would be harder and I’d advise contracting a fab shop to make that for you. They could just mount a bunch of little blocks then turn them down into one round. It’d cost a fortune, but they’d last a while and work a treat, I think. Else you can maybe do what my dad and I did for my big wheel as a kid. Big round of PVC tubing of the right inner diameter, cut to desired width plus an inch or so either side. Then, cut 2 more rings, take a notch out of each, and kinda compress them around the tyre like a snap ring. Glue in place with PVC cement, and boom. Retained wither side, nice and round, and mine lasted years on a Green Machine getting whaled on.
Dude, you’re channel is so uplifting! I was in the high end mountain/freeride/downhill and BMX freestyle industry for many years. You’ve relit that fire in me, I am going to be building a new bike. Keep up the excellent work! I have to say that I am always happier after watching your videos! The Penny Farthing was insane!
Someone get this man a Grammy! No ones as creative as MR. Pilgrim! I wana see same garage, he probably has some of the coolest and strangest gadgets ever
There's something about the Drift Trike videos that make me smile so hard that my face hurts afterwards. Thank you Lewi and Sam for sharing your talents with the world! I'm not sure how we'll ever repay you.
Love how much Sam enjoys his Adult big wheel..lol Seems like you could use ptfe dowels or a single dowel, heated and formed to go around the rim, secured from the side with pocket screws like cabinet makers use.
Pvc bends easy too and flies well. Perhaps a long strip of Pvc hot bent around the rim. Wrap it up until the rim bed is filled them glue a wider strip to it and wrap it around a few times for a thick layer
@SamPilgrim. Try wrapping the wheels with melted plastic. Collect a lot of plastic bottles and other household trash. Sort it by plastic type (many YT videos available). Melt it in an oven and kneed it into long strips that you drape over the wheels while still hot, have the various strips overlapping. Include the top-end of the spokes for grip.
If you are after plastic/nylon tyres for the trike to use for drifting, 'perhaps' use the 'blue' plastic/nylon water pipe that they use for the water main feed to domestic supplies. You can 'probably' cut the pipe to size and then using an internal coupler with a resin based adhesive to join the pipe ends together. I'm pretty sure this could work mate, you might want to seek further information on 'how to glue the pipe using an internal insert (length of insert needs to be about 25mm. Using the 'blue plastic/nylon watermain feed pipe, you should be able to create a tyre that actually fits within the rim of the wheel (more secure).
Today is going be sketchy as I don’t know if Sam has a middle name but sam Frankenstein pilgrim has a nice sound to it with these drift bike builds and big respect to Colchester cycles for helping Sam out always support your local bike shop
Hi Sam, You can try finding a CNC specialist or someone with a big enough 3D printer to fit to your specifications. An alternative is to create a wheel mold for an acrylic pour. The second option might be better BECUZ you can DIY.
I think you need to drift trike a tandem bike for the length it will give you. Triple clamps and a big wheel up front. And find some long twisty downhill roads. Might just be the best day ever. Thanks for the entertainment these drift vids and the cheap bikes are my favorites.
Nice one Sam! I cant wait to see the future! Not sure about another kind of plastic pipe big enough for those wheels, but you could try thicker cuts of the corrugated pipe, they might be less wobbly as they get thicker. Also, you could screw little blocks of wood into the pipe on either side of the tires in multiple places around them to lock the wheels into place.
i custom built me a three wheel bike as well. front suspension, rear suspension, live axle with a 420cc Predator engine from Harber Freight... lol. yall i ride that thing 5 miles one way to the Dollar General on dirt... lmfaoo.! whats real funny, i was born and raised in L.A. California, moved to Missouri and turn country AF..! lol
Brings back mad memories. We used to do this back in the day, but used to raid the bin at the lbs for old bmx wheels and put the on minutes the tyre and shred to they felt apart!! Happy days 🤣
I'd love to see your collaborate with colinfurze. He's built a number of drift trikes along with a ton of other insane things. He's pretty much a mad scientist/wizard when it comes to building fun ridiculously questionable and borderline dangerous things.
If you get a router and the right bit you could carve a half circle grove in the piping for the tire to sit in and it would probably stay on straight. It would only take a few seconds per each plastic tire sliver and you could probably cut them thinner since the tire is now a skinny road tire.
0:10 Ooooofff, I thought that was a Maxxis front tyre there for a second, but then I saw the blocky illusion on there and I realised it really was a Goodyear tyre after all. Silly me...
"It might be a bit too steep and I don't have the front brake BUT I'm gonna send it anyway.." 😂🤣😂🤣 Wish I could 'like' this video more than once! Such a funny idea, imagine what the people looking out of their windows on that hill must have thought! And the CCTV operators in that car park! 😂 Long live the drift-trike! Would there be any way to make some sort of electric drift trike using the Sur-Ron or any other e-bike? And don't forget that parachute thing you've got! 😉👍
You sure could use a 2" roll of grip tape for the inner diameter of the pipe. Same thing works with 10" PVC and go kart tires. The keys is grip, ironically!
Bruh, when he broke out the 60cc 2 stroke fan knew shit was the best. No, thats a whole new sport! Gotta add a better frame to fall against so dont get arm/head chopped off when roll Lolol. But that was truly epic. Could prob 3d print like plastic wrap around tires.
that fan pack is hilarious ... like a long lost devinci invention..i can just imagine someones like theres a guy in the parking lot with a gas powered fan backpack and a tricycle doing donuts and the other person would be like- WHAT?
Japanese drifters sometimes use large pvc pipe! It might be a bit more durable but they also have a drip system so the wheels don’t get to hot and crack..
We had a green machine trike as kids that we skidded through the plastic wheels really quickly but my dad found this super thick pvc pipe that fit perfectly over them and glued it to the original wheels the wall thickness was like 20mm so super durable but so skiddy it was barely rideable as kids. Feel like as an adult with a fan it would be perfect!👌🏼
Add snowboards/skis with holes in for the rear wheels to poke through that are adjustable up and down. So you have the option to roll or slide with like a handbrake mechanism.
Lewy attempting to switch on the -blender- fan through the blades was Incredible dedication to epicness
Safely first; “What you doing there; it will chop your arm off”..

What kind of paint can be used for stealth mode ?
It took me ages to see what that said haha. Pixilated stuff draws my attention way too much.

Why is he censoring it?

Kitchen chopping boards, usually PTFE. Same result and cheaper. Could make sleds/ski's for the rear

Awesome. Epic. Rad.
