I've spent the better part of the last two weeks writing, recording, editing, and finalizing this little project. It's been a BLAST to work on, so I hope you enjoy it! The original song this is parodying is "Mr. Brightside" by the Killers. I own neither "Mr. Brightside" nor any of the Hermitcraft content used in this video. I only own my voice, these lyrics, and the brain cells I lost recording this at 4am.

Fishing in minecraft takes 5-30 seconds, so lets round it to 15. He fished nearly 6000 times, so that's 90,000 seconds. Turn that to minutes, then to hours, that's 25 hours of fishing.
Yeah no wonder grian was going genuinely insane.

He fished way over 6,000 times. He caught over 9,000 cod and fished more like 12,000 times, I'm pretty sure
@@liaracochran7879Final screenshots the day he caught Mending actually had “fish caught” at 6,838 - I used that one while editing this 😋 So yes, he DEFINITELY used the fishing rod way more then 6,000 times…though I never did grab a screenshot of that number.
BUT if OP’s math is the total time after only 6,000 fishing rod uses, I can only imagine the insane number he ACTUALLY hit as a grand total, good lord 0.0

@@itsjustken1109In fairness it’s his full time job to play (at this point) hermitcraft. Considering he got a decent amount of content via the rods, I’d say it’s fine.

Wow! This was high quality parody! Some parodies only have a singular idea and the rest of the song falls flat. I think the lyrics were well thought out in this and I loved how the effects in the voice mimicked the original Killers song. Fantastic work!
And this was before mentioning that the video editing was also done perfectly.
(Also, special mention, the "Stuck in sunk cost fallacy" line was absolutely brilliant!)
Thank you so much!!! I'm a bit of an amateur when it comes to sound design, but I did try my best to replicate the original vocal style of Mr. Brightside. Glad to see it didn't go unnoticed! And that sunk-cost fallacy might have been the reason I even wrote the rest of the song lol...I wanted an excuse to use it xD I'm pretty happy it landed so well!
I think some of the best parodies I've found, in Minecraft and elsewhere, try to tell some kind of story even if it's small. So if ever anyone wants to create one of their own, that's a great thing to keep in mind - even if that story is about finding diamonds in a video game, or feeding a digital fishing addiction 😋

that's some nice editing.
The whole music video is great. Diving, glitching into a bamboo boat, double fishing line glitch followed by the ten fishing lines, the hermit space program, someone else's mending book floating in the sea next to Grian's line... so many good moments arranged in a relevant way.

This is the first parody to have taken me back to the og days of Minecraft parodies in a very long time if this had come out when I basically only listened to parodies it would have been up there with revenge for how much I would have played it

I grew up on parodies like those - "Screw The Nether" was a favorite of mine - so I was definitely channeling my inner Martyn Inthelittlewood and Captain Sparklez with this one lol. I've been tempted to try my hand at other Minecraft parodies for ages, so I'm grateful for my friends that finally encouraged me to finish this one. Pretty happy with how it turned out! ^^
@@Pixiemage I love all of Martyn's Parodies they were the first ones I really got into and I can definitely feel his influence on this and this song takes me back to a much simpler time and it's been quite the breath of fresh air. 😁

I always enjoy hermitcraft. But this season started harder than any other I can remember. Everyone just seemed so pumped and eager to get into craziness. Grian's insistence on fishing that cod-be-damned book and Zed's self inflicted struggle to make every aspect of the game more difficult had me checking my computer for new uploads more than anything else before.

It’s a great song. One thing grian could have done (even though he could have done it off camera) was to fish when it was raining in the game. When you fish when it’s raining in game for some what ever reason you get a significant boost to get rare items.

I came into this expecting some kind of low-effort post with horrendous mic quality.
Not an incredibly pieced together parody where everything fit together, the clips used worked well and for the singer to not be some 10 year old kid who hasn't hit puberty.
