@odinnshred The part is actually written for F trumpet originally, so it's a written Bb. As for the chances that a player can hit it... well, Mahler wrote it, so they have to do it. It's within the operating range of trumpet player in a professional orchestra, and it's really not that much higher than the high trumpet parts to pieces like the Rite of Spring, the Turangalila Sinfonie, although those parts are generally played on a piccolo trumpet.
Yes it is, I am soooo sry. I am soooo totally wrong and you are right! *points* "Hey everyone, this is your new leader, listen to him/her!!!!" I was right about y it has such a dark tone though... XD
i think this guy is playing. do you think a guy without atleast decent chops would have a trumpet like that? i don't know exactly how much they cost, but a hell of a lot more than a strad.
Actually, I think thats the reverb... and he's actually in the Monette shop... you can call up Dave Monette if you want to make sure. Douche, haha, you said douche.
Anyone else hear that clicking noise at the end of the excerpt. Sounds alot like the one that Manny makes at the end of his tape when he winks at the camera.
Does Mahler actually ask for the high Eb (or F, as the transposition goes), or is this a different version of the passage? If Mahler did write for it, could someone please tell me how likely it is for 'good' members of an orchestra to achieve this note, and should the composer only ask the 1st trumpeteer to produce it? Thanks
It is a monette ajna trumpet. The reason for having a french horn type sound is that the plating is very heavy and gives the instrument a very dark, warm sound that is characteristic of a french horn

Lol its so fake i have the real video and there the exact same tempo sound and the guy releases the trumpet too early, there is still sound.
I played the monette video and this one in sync....The audio is exactly the same.....draw your own conclusions.....lol
My bad, all the in-plating design screwed with my head../ :p
the trumpet looks beaten up and dented cause of that design but the sound coming from it is remarkable
lol, and where are your videos showing that this is like crushing an ant under your foot >.>
yes...thats why he's holding a horn that costs up to thirty thousand dollars...yes...thirty.
Totally fake, LOL @ "hack001" what kind of name is that, anyways, love the super fakeness.

You might find this easier on a C tpt, and more accurate.
