      Michigan had damn near the softest schedule in the country last year, 4 straight home games and 7 home games. This year they play 8 home games and 5 straight home games to open the season. It's like stat padding. How is this type of scheduling even allowed by the conference? Because it's has been a conference of two teams for some time.

      Right. USC has a winning record vs every single middle west team in the BIG except MSU who they are tied with. These guys have some weird notion that middle west football is so ‘physical’. Wait til these corn fed boys have to start chasing around dudes from south central. The speed is gunna be a shock for them. The only ‘physical’ team in the BIG last year was Michigan. Coach JH has had that everywhere. He did it at Stanford of all places too. That are going to start regressing. ND is USCs only rival in the middle west

    Oregon lost to Washington because our two starting outside corners were injured in both losses. Both were out for the last 25mins in Seattle, and one was out in the Pac12 title, while the other kept leaving injured.
    Their style with 3 NFL WR’s without our full secondary is why UO lost to UW. Had we been healthy with our two best corners, the running game wouldn’t have been effective, just like in Seattle, where their RB was held to 99yds…which isn’t bad, but it isn’t a Zeke Elliot type numbers.
    Oregon was built to beat a team like Michigan, and their style. They weren’t built to beat a team like Washington in the 2nd year of Dan Lanning’s defense, with the lack of starting corner talent.
    But in year 3 that’s entirely different. The depth at corner is insane. The depth everywhere is insane. But in a lot of positions, UO is young…but these players are also elite HS recruits. Players that the top teams wanted. And that goes for the 3rd ranked transfer portal class as well.
    The Big10 outside of 2 or 3 teams, isn’t going to give Oregon much of a challenge. The reason why the Pac12 was so challenging was because all the teams were built differently, because they recruited smaller faster big men, or they recruited bigger less athletic big men. Recruiting out west is more difficult since it’s only 20% of the population, west of Texas…which requires all the teams to play different stylistically. And when you have to prepare for 9 different offensive styles each year, it makes it very difficult to recruit to play 9 different styles.
    In the SEC and Big10 everyone recruits with a similar vision, and they play within a small subset of the same style. Which is why it’s usually easy to predict. It’s not chaos like the pac12, where everyone really can beat everyone.
    Oregon though is the exception moving into the Big10, since we’ve been recruiting to play the SEC and Big10 style, and that’s all thanks to Lanning n’ company.
    As for 2023, Washington peaked with an old team, and the receivers that our WR coach recruited and trained while he was at Washington. That’s why they were successful. But now that he’s at Oregon, he has built an even more elite WR unit, since Oregon is on another level, compared to Washington’s recruiting. That’s right, Oregon has the best WR unit in the country…and I’d argue their offense is going to be the best we’ve ever seen in Eugene.
    So I hope the Big10 is ready, because I can tell by what you’re both saying, that you both aren’t.

    • @RoccoGuyBoiThing
      @RoccoGuyBoiThing 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is almost entirely false. You lost both times because Dan Lanning stopped running the ball. Simple as that. If yall ran the ball every time like Michigan vs Penn state, you would have won by 30. Dan Lanning is a genuinely bad situational coach. If y'all handed the ball to Bucky every time, we would have lost.

    • @1876Oregon
      @1876Oregon 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RoccoGuyBoiThing What I said was 100% facts. That’s why a backup corner that ended up transferring after struggling for two years was on Odunze on the last TD in Seattle. That should’ve been Florence or Kyree Jackson, but they were injured on the same play with 10mins left in the 3rd quarter.
      And in the Pac12 championship, Bucky was injured…as you could see all game. So I agree running the ball helped with Jordan James, but NO, running the ball was not the answer for our defense at corner…since that’s the main reason we lost to Washington.
      And as for the last three losses, Oregon has outscored Washington in the last 3 quarters of each game. So the losses all came down to starting out slow in all three games on offense…if you want to blame the offense.

      The Ducks could be humbled, but they have an elite offensive tackle duo and Jordan James is an awesome RB. They could absolutely have the best rushing offense in the Big Ten.

      USC is winning 10 games this year. USC bout to smack you haters down to reality. That Lynn who you talked about pulling off the best D turn around in the country last year, is about to do that again with Riley, who puts out top offenses every year. We will circle back after week 3 when they got wins over LSU and Michigan. People's tune is going to change quick.

    It's not surprising the amount of hate USC football receives from around the country especially from eSECpn another sporting outlets what is surprising is the amount of hate Lincoln Riley gets sporting news from around the country praise him as a great young coach when he was at Oklahoma as soon as you took the job at USC the hate exploded to another level but I guess that comes w/ the territory and guilt by association but let me remind all the B1G SC's record against the conference as a whole

    I expect the four former Pac 12 teams will be interesting opponents arriving in the Big Ten. They will win a lot. But also lose games. It will be interesting.

  • @naujelbr
    @naujelbr 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It's the week after week pounding that will wear down the Pac 12 teams. The Pac 12 was excellent last year, but the Big 10 plays a different style of football based on defense and size advantage on the lines and pounding the football. It wears down everyone. The bruises will build up in a way that you just won't encounter outside of the Big 10 and SEC, when your opponents just keep bringing it to you every week, even the weaker teams.
    But keep talking.

Why are you hyping a dude that hasn’t won a conference even once vs a coach that has been to the playoffs multiple times, with 3 Heisman winners in 7 years and a second place guy. Top 25 head coach? You are nuts. Riley with a mediocre defense would have 4 natties right now. Guy has had grinch the entire time so you guys have no idea what Riley’s potential is with a $7 million defensive staff and recruiting to match

    Had to respond to a couple other things.
    Bo Nix wasn’t a great deep ball thrower all year. He consistently overthrew several TD passes each game.
    Jordan James and our backup RB both averaged 7yds a carry…and they are both returning.
    Dillon Gabriel is a much better deep ball threat, and he will have the best WR core in the country. When Kyler Kasper is the 6th best WR on the team, you know this team is loaded. Kasper had several TD’s last year, though one was waved off even though he had control before hitting the ground. But he is a jump ball threat at 6’5”, on top of being a deep ball threat. But Tez, Evan, Gary, Traeshon, Jurrion, Kyler, and the talented young freshman…not to mention the three TE’s…Oregon is gonna be chunking their way down the field all season…and then hitting a better deep ball compared to last year.
    Sidenote…TE Sadiq, is more athletic than Brock Bowers, so just sit back and enjoy the show. He had his first TD in the Fiesta Bowl on a creative running play. And yes, that guy is 250lbs now…moving like that…as our 3rd string TE.

      OK Mr. Perfect, you couldn't do One Tenth of what Bo Nix accomplished. Second, in 2024 Bo Nix is NOT our quarterback, Gabriel is. 3rd, "deep Ball threat" LOL EVERY Quarterback is a deep ball "threat" Throwing the ball deep is a low percentage type of pass. that is often INTERCEPTED and is highly over rated by couch know it alls like yourself.

    I think Big 10 fans are putting too much into the Michigan Washington outcome. Washington beat Texas who beat Alabama. You saw how WA performed after playing Oregon the 1st time earlier in the year, they were beat up and barely won against mid to bad Pac teams before getting 100% healthy when they played the Ducks the 2nd time and also got beat up before having to play Michigan.
