What a great way to show off the Gully and its birds! Well done John and all you hardworking bush carers. Julie Neumann
Thanks Julie. Great bunch of people with heaps of enthusiasm and spirit.
How lovely! Thanks. I live right near Echo Point, well, I live in Echo Point, but right near the Three Sisters. I was rather amused and delighted to find that the previous owners of my cottage were Mr and Mrs Gully! True story! Amazing. You really couldn't make it up! :)
Great walk John! I can't wait to visit one day. :)
You know where to find your birding pal Toni 👍🏻
Thank you so much for this virtual tour of my favourite place. I used to live above the gully before moving to a retirement village. I walked to the Gully on a bush track every day, soaking in the precious vibes of this magic place of custodianship.
@@angelikatreichler1762 Thanks so much for your message ❤️ It’s such a special place. It’s such a special welcoming community space. Fiona and I have just completed our 50th 2ha bird survey around the lake. Hoping to do a chat in results to date on Sept 8 at The Gully community day. Thanks so much again. John & Fiona.
I absolutely loved this production. Well done.
Thanks so much Daniel. My first try. The Gully is such a wonderful place. Full of spirit of country.
Well done! Since moving to Victoria, I'm feeling quite homesick for the BM sometimes. The Gully is very familiar to me and so is it's sad story. This was a healing journey for me. Heart warming to see what the nature restorers are doing. What a great bird tour! Love it!
Thank you for taking the time to reply Baubina. Yes - every wander thru its nature is a healing moment for us. All the best... John

Aaah, fabulous walk through. I'm going to take the list of birds and see who I can see in the Gully. Thank you!
👍🏻 - If you don’t see an Australian Wood Duck or a Pacific Black Duck - your sunglasses are just ‘way too dark’ 😜😂
@@kooragindijohn1372 You don't even have to leave the carpark to see them!
This is such a fantastic video John. I loved virtually walking through the gully with you. I lived in Portland for just on ten years and had no idea this magical place existed. Next time I visited down that way will be definitely spending a day there.

Hi Nicki. Thankyou for your lovely comment. Yes... The Gully is such a special place. If you ever are down Katoomba way and want a wander - get in touch. My partner Fiona ( fionalumsden.com ) and I often just chill out there for a bird walk. We may be able to link up. Cheers & thanks again. John
