Truth really has a point with anni always having either goku, vegeta, or some sort of fusion character. Even with like part 2 for instance we can look at Int Gohan being one of the most unhype characters ever released. It's probably very difficult for them to release an off character or more niche character as a main headliner anniversary unit. Sucks but its just how it is

I'm still holding out for a remake of the TEQ LR Goku and Frieza unit. Maybe add in 17 and up the quality of the animations and kit? Definitely anni worthy in my opinion. And it would still have a Goku in it for the tradition of having a Goku, Vegeta, or fusion character as the headlining unit.

11:37 Much respect to Truth's rant here. At heart, this game involves gambling, and these companies engage in a lot of dark patterns and predatory tactics to get you to spend money.
My hot take is that we need a year of mostly villain characters. Dokkan has a really bad track record for villains in my opinion, they either make them the best unit in the game, ie STR Cooler and Majunior, or make them dramatically worse than the Hero units released with or around them, ie the 17s, Raditz and TEQ Janemba. I think that if we spent a year focusing on building a really good extreme roster rather than releasing one villain for every 5 hero’s and having to worry that our villain is trash would be really good for Dokkan.
Dokkan can't afford that, most likely, that would be their worst year because at the end of the day, most people prefer the heroes like goku and vegeta
The only way this could work is if every villain unit released was the best unit in the game, however we already know an LR kid buu and new Goku black is on the way so...
*Not a hot take* : Characters like SSJ2 Gohan, Rose, OG Broly can easily sell as much or outsell standalone anni headlinder cards of Vegeta. We've seen the numbers from the devs. It's always Goku carrying anni banner sales and Vegeta is behind by miles. He is only there because it's a DB game anni so they can't not have Vegeta as a headliner in their eyes. But he can be easily replaced.

TRUEEE. SSJ4 Vegeta and SSBE Vegeta anni LRs were so damn boring as standalones. Much prefer him in duo LR cards like they've been doing for the past 2 ones. He just doesn't bring the hype.

I am a veteran Dokkaner and I spend maybe $5 on major celebrations because of some nice discounts for that much, but my account is in a place that even during the major power creep of anni I only really needed one of the new units to hold my own
Yeah, the thing is devilman within the actual show is WAY too slow to battle any of the threats beyond the original DB. Raditz would body him due to the fact that he could simply just kill devilman without him even realizing what happened.
Truth saying you shouldn’t summon for whatever you want isn’t the best thing to say. If you like Pui Pui then summon for him(though his dfe gonna take forever at this rate)
At the time of Dokkan released, even Battle of Gods wasn’t DBS to begin with, the movie is specifically called:

Hot take: I am growing tired of gt, I do think it needs more buffs I also feel like anniversary is not the time to do it. I mean we have four anniversaries with a SSJ 4 vegeta and/or goku. I feel like from a hype perspective there are way better options.
It's not tiring for me since It gets only 2 buffs a year usually and dokkan is for some reason is perpetually scared to do anything else except Goku/Vegeta which is the bigger problem. Even Legends does more variety stuff on their annis. Somehow they can't fathom SSJ2 Gohan, Rose, Broly exist that can easily be anni level characters. And I don't buy that they don't sell as much when every standalone Goku anni card massively outsold Vegeta by lightyears. If not Goku, there's options that will easily sell as much or better than Vegeta cards.
Carnival Goku and metal cooler have not been back a single time since release on global. It's absolutely ridiculous
I guess slayer really meant banner units on Anniversary are trash compared to Legends (2nd year had Trunks and Merged Zamasu 3rd year also had Bojack Movie Gohan though he is a headliner and 4th year had Tapion )
dragon ball Manga exclusive characters in dokkan would actually be pretty cool. u can make the animations just manga panels and I have a few examples. ssj goku black, mastered ssjb goku, mastered ssjb vegeta. maybe like once a year release a banner with a few manga units. plus dokkan wouldnt have to invest as much time on the animations

I think the dodge canceling issue comes from broly himself. At least that's my opinion, him canceling dodge but having an aoe super that can do 300k+ to each character can be incredibly unfun

One that stood out to me the most is someone saying global and jp being synced would be bad. Although I hate being behind since we are on global, he does have a point because if you truly think about it, if both versions were synced then one of the versions would just become significantly worse. Almost half if not more than half of the jp english players would switch to global if jp and global were synced. And if they kept the benefits global still has now, it's just the best version to exist.
Dokkan probably doesn't want the games to catch up so they can double dip hype moments for their quarterly reports. 8th anniversary is gonna rake in a lot of money and make profits for the quarter look great and they can do it all over again with Global once it releases for them as well.
They’d make infinitely more money if they caught the games up, take me for example, I skip anniversary’s and summon on world wide, I know a lot of people that do this too lol

If you dont like Bulma and shes still the best unit in the game but they drop a dfe for idk Jaco and that person loves Jaco then its always better to go for Jaco. Go for characters you love imo.
This, Dokkan is too easy to be summoning for meta reasons exclusively, especially since it's still possible to clear every stage with a damn saibaman on your team.

49:50 I think UI Goku has one of the weakest arguments for best-aging units. He was defensively carried by his dodge on release (not that that was bad at the time) and was immediately made nearly unrunnable by the 7th anniversary. He basically had a 1 year life span.
7th years are still very runnable now although they’re not the best options anymore, and 3rd year characters had pretty long lifespans as well. I’d say 7th years are my pick for best aging anniversary units tbh

Dokkan would benefit so much from a pity system where a thousand stones guarantees the new unit, at least on dokkanfest banners. Spending a thousand stones on a banner with discounts and possibly tickets only to not pull the new featured unit you have been saving for months for causes a lot of players to stop playing.
Unfortunately from their point of view, a pity system wouldn't be benefit them because the game is still making them a lot of money. I think it would make them make them more money because most people probably don't save for multiple months for one celebration. But it seems they they don't think it would make them more money or it's not worth putting the development time for a pity system.
I think more people are running Goku/gohan with 23WT Goku

My guess the reason the devs don't want to add a feature of showing us if characters are guarding is probably because what would be the point of having the risk and see if the chance to guard activated instead of seeing if it activates on that turn or not with a simple feature. At this point they might as well make all chance characters to guard instead of relying if the game hates you or not to activate lol. The thought of adding a feature to see characters of having multiple turns of guard or getting extra stats for certain turns and know it's about to run out and needs to be active again doesn't sound like a bad idea.
Either let us know if it's active or not or make it work like chance to get DR

I feel like its kinda dumb to rate ssbkk alone but rate gamma 2 when used with gamma 1. Gamma 2 alone is good but just feels off at times. I dont have every character and im a f2p player but i couldnt get gamma 1. It feels more consistent to either rate characters solely alone or with their best linking partner. Ex: lr merged zamasu was good at its time but has no good partners so it ranked less than it really would be if we had some good zamasu or golden black.
Also, ssbkk aint a good unit to run unless you have 1 ui goku and the f2p ui goku gets caught a lot...
