I think Daisy was always a character with light as Fitz was a character with innocence. And to see them darken and deal with the damage and turmoil within after is what helps them understand each other.

Welp, I'm back lmao. I waited for the new season on netflix so I could just binge it all. I wish they had more scenes in season 7 but season 7 was pretty good either way.
I knew that the two of them both experienced the same struggles with change after brain damage/terragenesis, and that they bonded over it, but I never realized that their similarities actually go WAY deeper than that. This makes me love their relationship even more.
I can't even explain how this makes me feel. I've been wanting someone to layer that conversation with Mack--"to be trapped inside your own body unable to tell it what to do, to watch yourself hurt the people you care about"--with the reveal in 5x14 since I saw it, I'm so glad that you did. Insanely gorgeous edit, goosebumps all the way through!!
This was so beautiful! I'm in love with the parallels, they are so good. The ending clip was so great; I love seeing how far they've both come since the beginning. I just hope that Fitz can be helped and that Daisy will forgive him. Very beautiful work!!

Honestly, I never thought of mirroring Daisy and Fitz's arc, I guess because I never considered Fitz's arc in the framework to be legit (since it was programming), but this is such an amazing way to look at things. I love these two and their friendship so much. And I know Daisy will forgive him, because at Shield we always forgive each other.

I love how they made the 2 people who were close to Grant Ward basically share part of the psychological trauma he carried and that made him the "monster" he was, Dayse carried the trauma of being hurt by her own family nucleus and losing important people to her and Fitz experienced in the framework how distorted his ideology and behaviors could be if he had an abusive and overbearing father figure they are just like ward , both of them .... sorry my english btw , ima failure

I found it amazing that they all gradually become cold and ruthless Fitz becomes this after Season 4 thanks to his horrifying Framework experience Daisy becomes this after Season 5, losing his Father figure and seemingly embrace that she is the "Destroyer of the World" Simmons becomes this from Season 6, hellbent in not losing Fitz for the second time and probably tired of getting "cursed' by distance with him
For me, Simmons becomes this in Season 3 after being stuck on the planet, Daisy becomes this in Season 4 after Hive and Fitz in Season 5 because of the Framework.

I forgot all about that...when Daisy nearly choked Fitz to death (I'm surprised she's conveniently forgotten that whilst acting all high and mighty about what Fitz did to her...don't get me wrong I know it was shocking but he wasn't in his right mind, he wasn't well and he didn't want to do it and you could see he was hating himself for it.) It will suck if they end the season with them parting bitterly.

I really don't understand why some people act like Fitz is some child who can't be held responsible for any of his actions. He's a grown man. You don't need to pull a Ward with him. I understand hating the creative decision to put Fitz in the position of making him the Doctor or having him torture Daisy without remorse, but let's not throw Daisy under the bus to excuse what Fitz did.
It's not that Fitz should not be responsible. He's to blame, but he's saving the world. All the agents acted wrong to save the world. And Fitz was ultimately punished. He died. The point is that Fitz always supported Daisy. She immediately accused him, and even quake him. That's the problem. And Daisy has to understand him like no other. She did many wrong things, but the team did not blame her, except Elena. That's the whole point.
+ Margarita Life When you have to try and drag down others to try and sanctify an act of torture, you don't have much of an argument to begin with. Did Fitz even attempt to speak with Daisy? No. Instead, he abducted her, tortured her, and his robots endangered the lives of everyone on the base, one attempting to murder Mack. The point is that what Fitz did was heinous, and instead of people acknowledging that, they simply make excuses for him like he's the new Ward. It's also not Daisy's responsibility to be chewed up and spit out for Fitz.
Sooo okay, i know nothing about this show but what i do know is that you always slay with these kind of tributes. So it was an absolute joy to watch. I love how you built this one up and how it actually affected me emotionally even tho, like i said, i don't know these characters at all. That's huge *hands down*. The parallels are incredible and I feel like it's never properly addressed on the show just how similar their arcs are? They both go through a traumatic, life changing incident (brain damage and terrigenesis), and have someone (Mack and Fitz) to help them through it, despite the judgement they feel from others. Then they turn evil in some way (Hive and Framework) and can't forgive themselves afterwards. But that's when it changes, as while Daisy runs away as a result, Fitz doesn't because he has Daisy there to understand him and help him. FitzDaisy at its best really helps both characters, it's just they so often argue or their relationship is ignored by the writers. I jus hope it gets better. Welp I thought the rant was over. aosfs29 Thanks for the long comment. I agree with everything you said. I’m frustrated the writers didn’t really address everything between them. They seem to push their relationship to the back recently but it’s been one of my favorite dynamics on the show from the beginning.
Ikr that's one thing aos could do better on: more brotp moments, there are so many brotps that I love but barely get anything, and DaisyFitz is one of the more main relationships of the show, yet is almost constantly ignored. I was so excited in 4x22 and again in 5x14 that at least their relationship would be addressed, but so far they've mostly ignored the emotional implications apart from one scene.

I only just started watching SHIELD a few months ago, so I completely missed this video. Now that I'm watching it after S5, it puts those events into perspective for me. It really frustrated me how Fitz hurt Daisy like that and the narrative left it really unresolved (but I think I was more frustrated at Jemma for justifying it), but seeing their journey the way you have done so here really shows the push and pull dynamics of these characters. Really emotional.
Oh my favorite two on the show :'( What's going to happen with them.... This was amazing, and really insightful into their minds :') I totally agree: Daisy should forgive Fitz because he's just as brain-damaged as she was. And she should at least understand the guilt-trap thing

I love this video and the parallels you made! It's tricky morally as you can understand both Daisy and Fitz's point of you but I am glad that Fitz reminded her of the times she turned her back and hurt the team because I've been seeing it as a bit hypocritical that it seems Daisy is projecting herself as never doing anything wrong! What Fitz did was wrong, but he deserves her (eventual) forgiveness.
Daisy thinking that Gonzales tried to kill her mother - when Gonzales' people tried to murder her earlier that year - or being under mind-control by Hive isn't remotely similar to Fitz torturing her, and then blaming her for his decision to torture her. It makes Fitz look like a psychopath to the people who aren't trying to romanticize his heinous actions.
Yes. And I'm sick and tired of how every time I click on a video about the relationship between Fitz and Daisy, hoping to find something really thoughtful and respectful of the characters, all I find is a bunch of contrived attempts to justify Fitz' bad actions and throw Daisy under the bus.
You both make good points, she shouldn’t forgive the future Fitz/Doctor combo, but the Fitz that’s frozen hasn’t done anything to her, and she shouldn’t treat him like a monster for something he hasn’t done.

I'm glad now that aos got renewed so they have a chance to fully address just how broken things are between them, as I doubt they'll be able to in three episodes. Okie dokie rant over. I'm just glad I got Coulson and May and Mack as they're basically the only sane ones left. Once again this video is amazing and beautiful! The parallels are incredible and I feel like it's never properly addressed on the show just how similar their arcs are? They both go through a traumatic, life changing incident (brain damage and terrigenesis), and have someone (Mack and Fitz) to help them through it, despite the judgement they feel from others. Then they turn evil in some way (Hive and Framework) and can't forgive themselves afterwards. But that's when it changes, as while Daisy runs away as a result, Fitz doesn't because he has Daisy there to understand him and help him. FitzDaisy at its best really helps both characters, it's just they so often argue or their relationship is ignored by the writers. I jus hope it gets better. Welp I thought the rant was over. aosfs29 Thanks for the long comment. I agree with everything you said. I’m frustrated the writers didn’t really address everything between them. They seem to push their relationship to the back recently but it’s been one of my favorite dynamics on the show from the beginning.
Ikr that's one thing aos could do better on: more brotp moments, there are so many brotps that I love but barely get anything, and DaisyFitz is one of the more main relationships of the show, yet is almost constantly ignored. I was so excited in 4x22 and again in 5x14 that at least their relationship would be addressed, but so far they've mostly ignored the emotional implications apart from one scene.

This brotp is among my most favourite, it hurts so much to see what is going on in the show, Daisy is so wrong in the way she treats him, it's so extremely unfair, and i try to understand her, i do, but... their friendship is too beautiful and pure and it's been through too much to be cast away like that by her. I only just started watching SHIELD a few months ago, so I completely missed this video. Now that I'm watching it after S5, it puts those events into perspective for me. It really frustrated me how Fitz hurt Daisy like that and the narrative left it really unresolved (but I think I was more frustrated at Jemma for justifying it), but seeing their journey the way you have done so here really shows the push and pull dynamics of these characters. Really emotional.

I love this video and the parallels you made! It's tricky morally as you can understand both Daisy and Fitz's point of you but I am glad that Fitz reminded her of the times she turned her back and hurt the team because I've been seeing it as a bit hypocritical that it seems Daisy is projecting herself as never doing anything wrong! What Fitz did was wrong, but he deserves her (eventual) forgiveness.
Daisy thinking that Gonzales tried to kill her mother - when Gonzales' people tried to murder her earlier that year - or being under mind-control by Hive isn't remotely similar to Fitz torturing her, and then blaming her for his decision to torture her. It makes Fitz look like a psychopath to the people who aren't trying to romanticize his heinous actions.
Yes. And I'm sick and tired of how every time I click on a video about the relationship between Fitz and Daisy, hoping to find something really thoughtful and respectful of the characters, all I find is a bunch of contrived attempts to justify Fitz' bad actions and throw Daisy under the bus.
You both make good points, she shouldn’t forgive the future Fitz/Doctor combo, but the Fitz that’s frozen hasn’t done anything to her, and she shouldn’t treat him like a monster for something he hasn’t done.
