Did that 3 times last year. Thank goodness Wilson staff was willing to replace the shaft each time.
Which head do you have I had crown fly off on a Wilson D7 😂 didn’t even sky it it just popped off then I hit one super low heel and shaft broke. I’m on my 3rd replacement as well

I love mark as a coach because he proves that size and arm strength isn't what makes you hit the ball far. Its all about form and torque. I also love his positive attitude. I really wish I didn't live in Boston so I could get lessons from him lol.

Excellent video - I wonder if you can repeat with your previous driver. This is the second video of someone breaking their Callaway Mavrik driver shaft (Matt Scharff is the first). Something wrong. Next time, Kevin should bring the Callaway Connect-Easy swing training aid. I think it will help.
I broke a call away maverick in the same spot took it back to dicks and the exchanged it for me. Now I’m scared to use it 😂 now I have two bought the sub zero with a different shaft using that now

Also: These teachings are beyond useful for me! I had a very hard time with my Driver and I was not shifting my weight correctly! Also good to know I am not the only one who almost pinged people on the driving range.. however it is a little next level that you almost did it with the driver head lol. You must have accidentally bought a Calla-away ;P

I know this comment most likely wont be seen but I think its so crazy that at 14:00 min mark is teaching Bryan how to step bat lol that's crazy, I naturally step into my swing when I'm batting, never would of thought that would flow into playing golf
I've broken 2 clubs hitting ot off the heel like that. One was my 2nd swing with a new 3 wood

Bryan's biggest problem is always and will always be that he forgets to slow down and make sure his shots connect, imho. Too focused on smashing the ball, and not thinking about the club hitting the ball correctly. It's why Zac fixed him for three holes almost, and he immediately started playing bad again when he got back to Cali.
That said, a few things that would take no effort to help until it becomes a routine to think about these things:
Make a flash card or two and jot down key elements of the swing and stance you need to change. Between shots, drill those points. Think about them, and really WANT those things.
Slow it down. Take an extra practice swing or two.
Stretch a little before playing. Just like lifting weights or running, you need to be sure you have a good range of motion, your muscles are loose, and your joints are protected.

@@ExperiorGolf My case in a point: You picked up almost 50 yards on the Driver by slowing it down and thinking. I think a driver not snapping on you and another few pointers from Mark will see you hit that 270 Yardage. 280 with some practice and really drilling the tempo and stance in. You're outright DEADLY in the 20-80 yard range, and the putting isn't bad. Just gotta fix that long shot and the journey is going to get interesting! Might even take that course score down five or ten shots.

straight up I just discovered yesterday that my balance was causing my slices and bad swings. I was also slightly falling back but it didn't feel like it, now I lean into it a little bit and BOOM.
This happened to my new 3 wood! Luckily had a warranty from Callaway and I'm glad I know what the problem is now lol

Lol. Man I still I have 14 year old talyor made R5 driver. It is hands down the best driver I have ever had. I have course tested a handful of new drivers. To me my R5 is still better. The sound that comes off the face when you hit in the middle is so awesome 👍👊

I know its not about the handicap but at what point are you Guys now? With the journey match I love the challenge you do and I am looking to start one for my self. I am just playing for 3 months and have a 31,6 now but what is a reasonble handicap to challenge for the journey match? 😁

Just the opposite. I took my dad out golfing for the first time ( a while back) and he knocked the heads of my driver, 3 wood, and 5 wood. Guess it was karma paying me back for all the things I destroyed of his as a child.

I did a lesson where the guy asked me where I was going to aim and I pointed at a flag. He told me to get in position and then he put his club out and said I had to keep my club under his in the backswing and downswing. I was within a couple inches of the flagpole as the ball went by instead of hitting my usual 90 degree slice. He wanted to move on after that so nothing stuck unfortunately

i broke my driver the same exact way. once i can afford a new one, i would love to get back on the course next spring.
If it’s broken by the adapter and a new club it’s under a warranty usually take it to a retailer to have them send back for repair or replacement

I'd love to take any excuse to get a new driver 😂 But I think I'm just going to get it mounted on a new shaft
And that people is why you use your head cover to protect the driver shaft from the irons hitting it and slowly weakening it over time

By the looks of the slow motion, looks like you heeled it like crazy, and it just twisted it and snapped the shaft. But that’s gotta be still under warranty. How badly did the head get damaged from hitting that beam?
