Nortent LY1: Embrace the Windy Wildcamp Adventure in Shropshire!

Twin peaks outdoors (Mark & Simon) joined the Shropshire lass and myself on a Wildcamp in our local hills on my personal favourite Caer Caradoc.
Filmed with the DJI Action 2, which to be honest is not the best camera in low light. However later on in the video I do use the new DJI Mini mic for a short while to check the quality. I can honestly say I’m super impressed with the mini mic, the wind at the summit was awful, hitting 40mph yet after checking the audio, I could clearly be heard.
This was also my first night in the Nortent Ly1 and I’ll be honest, it was a bit of a pain to get up in the bad winds on my own. Lucky for me Mark and Simon helped out and we managed to get pitched. On a positive side, once the tents up it is an absolute palace…it’s huge. From the outside you’d think it was a 2 man. Inside you have 2 vestibules, so loads of space for your wet kit and cooking on the other side.

Again as always thank you very much for watching. Currently I really struggle to be motivated to get out and film anything lately. I do find that sometimes it takes over enjoyment of just getting out and enjoying the great outdoors.

Been using the old original DJI mic for quite a while. Decided a long time ago to not worry about it in rain etc due to it being low cost, and it has been through a lot of abuse since then and still works just fine. Used it in the rain a lot.
I know, was bloody awful going up. On a positive note I did take them for a cracking breakfast in the morning. Really impressed with the mini mic and the fact I can use it with an old camera is def a bonus. Shame u couldn’t join us, maybe next time 😁

I was looking at Caradoc 24 hours earlier and it was white over a few times.

Hi Paul it looked brassic up on that hill. When you were tucked up in bed it was pouring down in South Wales and heading your way. It looks like you were just in time packing up.
