This brought a flood of tears. So much has changed. My Dad is in one of the pictures. So many of the other "old timers" I hunted and fished with. So many nights I lay in bed thinking about so much of that property I know and going through the bottoms of all most all the lakes. Every deep hole or shoal and when to fish them. I was a member of the Gooley Club for years, as was my father and grandfather. I had a distinct advantage as my father was a guide in there for several years. He and Byron ( Byron and his wife Ella were the caretakers) put the first motorized vehicle in there. This place holds such a special place in my heart that I will never forget. Guess I would be considered one of the Old Timers now....... After my original post I viewed this again with a better picture and realized the picture was not my father but my grandfather. I have a lot of homemade movies from the 50's that he took with many of the same people in them.
Is this ever going to premiere? Looking forward to it. I also hunt the Adirondacks and have a few videos on my channel. Can't wait to get back up there late summer to scout again before season.
I am not a very accomplished hunter but it is a goal of mine to establish a tradition of hunting that I may pass down to my 2 sons so that when I am dead and gone they can remember all the times that I pray God will allow us to have.
Yes! We're in the final stages of editing right now for the full length feature. Should be done soon hopefully. PBS Mountain Lake did a preview on us last spring.
Unfortunately the funding for the full film fell through. We got very close to finishing, but it languishes on a couple of hard drives and would pretty much have to be rebuilt from scratch due to a previous disk failure. It was a fun project to work on.
@@ericbunksvintagesportsman6311 my pleasure! I really enjoyed making this short. The project was handed off to someone else, and after several years of inaction, brought back to me. Unfortunately they had pretty much wrecked the main editing file in the time they had it. I would have loved to have finished this up for the full length feature.
Hunting is is a more than the kill the time at camp is more important than the hunt it is a hard to describe but once you try it it becomes a living thing inside of you that wants to keep doing it great video thanks have a great day be safe.

That was a flyover of the Lake George Area and at :55 is Rt9N in Corinth, NY.
Just short of the 1 minute mark it looks like River Rd. in Corinth?
great video, thanks
Has the documentary ever been finished I’m still waiting for it ??? Does anyone know
Unfortunately it ran out of funding. Project was sent to a different editor who really did a number on it, and let it sit for ages.
hell let me out there!!!! don't let this way of life die. take someone hunting an change their life forever.
Where can I find this?

Yeah, it was a great project. Some of the folks have passed away, and a lot of the camps are gone now
@@Awasos21 So sad At least we can pay tribute to them!! Thanks for this footage!!
