Nothing justifies these price increases. For any brand.
I think it just makes you even more intentional when buying something because of the costs. Now, I won't buy something because of fomo or on impulse. There will always be a new bag, a new design 🤷🏻‍♀️
I think I would regret it down the line if I bought a bag only because of price increases.

The price increase at Hermes is across all departments. Last year I bought few things from different departments and on the 1st of January this year all items I had bought were more expensive, approx 10-15 % each.

I would have been nervous if I thought $30 for two t-shirts in Bali was too much, but seriously, buying the bags at *suluxy* didn't make me nervous.

Hi Jess! I just started my Hermès „journey“ (hate that word) and I already made peace with having to deal with price increases. They’re inevitable and it is impossible to dodge them by panic buying everything you have on your list. So I will keep calm and take this price increase like a champ. I just want to enjoy the ride without getting pressured ☺️

agree!!! Have to be very mindful about what you buy at these prices!

No FOMO at all, when you look at preloved, they are not selling. I am 2000% confident I will find things I like in almost brand new condition for MUCH less in my preferred colour choice and leather in 6months and much cheaper if I wait a bit longer. Honestly I have a lot already, I don’t get much at all if I sell them. BKC preloved drop a lot, don’t buy new, you will absolutely regret it.

Agree, in fact the prices for preloved they are coming down as many many models are not selling and I am not into the usual etoupe black and gold anyway

You're are ramping up to do it all over again. Don't convince yourself that you need to buy something. There will always be price increases. Sell a couple of your hermes bags and buy a house in Japan!

Buy a house in Japan? I live in Australia! 😎Why don't you buy a house in Japan...or have you already?

No I bought an adorable little house in Italy a couple of years ago for AUD$16,000. My kids are looking to buy a house in Japan because prices there can also be incredibly low, sometimes starting from around AUD$20,000. I know your love of Japan so it was just a suggestion

Middle class women should stop feeding into this. You’d be better off buying the stock of the parent company of these junk. None of these handbags are worth a fraction of their retail prices.

During this time, anyone who is still buying Hermes is a fool. Walmart has just released a dupe Birkin for under one hundred US dollars. A bag is bag. It looks the same as the Hermes bag. I'm into beautiful things with value for money. Designer brands are ripping off their customers.

I think 2nd hand is the way to go in the near future. I believe people are getting a little more realistic about what they should be spending their money on (which is usually not luxury bags and accessories, lol), and the trends are veering away from the luxury sector, leaving opportunities on the 2nd hand market for those people still interested in buying. I'm currently trying to decide whether to buy a Ulysse notebook second hand or from the store. I guess I have to make up my mind soon, my "No Buy" starts on the 1st, lol. 😅😅 Thanks for the intel!

I’ve noticed when it comes to Hermes the SLG’s that are second hand are almost the same cost as the new ones. Same with LV. Time to get my purchases in asap!

This video is really well done. It answers many of my doubts about the cost of luxury goods. The blogger's three views are also very fair. He will not guide the consumption of certain products, but express the consumption selection standards fairly. I will continue to choose the *hotdups* that suits me.

I bought the jumping boots and picotin last month. The picotin went up and the jumping boots went down in price. The day sneakers are also cheaper now than when I bought them last year. So maybe buy footwear when they decrease the prices to offset the increase in prices of the handbags lol.

Hi ! Hermès has a price increase every year on the 1rst of january so no surprise 😉 when there was no inflation it was 1 to 5% but since a few years it is more 5 to 8%. I doubt that it will be up to 20% this year but will see maybe it is a wishfull thinking 😅

Stop it, stop it Jessy! Comparing Chanel greedy price increases to other luxury brands. That contributes to opinions kind of justify these prices. Chanel is leading the way to ruin all the fun and cutsey about luxury shopping with their price increases.

I think you underestimate your position as an influencer and is avoiding acknowledging your impact by deflecting which influence you might have when comparing and holding Hermés pricing in relation to Chanel that has scared of some of their loyal customers. Comparing prices to Chanel is like saying Chanel is setting a standard other luxury houses should follow to keep up on their game for customers money. Giving such credit to Chanel and giving it attention is legitimizing such pricing behaviour because these houses would see that the opinion is comparing everything under Chanel price as a good deal....even if it is really luxury prices other brands have too.

    • @nikkibrittain
      @nikkibrittain 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

@ that is silly, moreover just plain wrong lol. When it seems like everyone and their mom now owns one of these bags they have to bring the exclusivity back to the brand which they achieve by raising the prices so less can actually afford them. This is the luxury designer world not Walmart
