I got laid off earlier this year. Took me almost 4 months to land a similar job. Which to me is the normal range. So many companies want 3-4 rounds of interviews. Which takes forever. Then the background check, drug test…..etc.
keep that job we are already unofficially in a recession. And given the debt, a pandemic, bubbles in stocks bonds and houses, the m2 money supply contracted in 2022 for the 1st time since 1932 all kinds of records or rare facts, we can conclude as a fact that 2025 has the highest chance of the recession ending in a financial crisis/ crash then any recession outside 2008 going back to the 1940s
@@brianoleson9224 Bro, we've been there since Q2 of 2022 and now we're in a depression. I'm more intuned then any of these low info clowns on here because it's my business. When considering all the metrics, only the great depression was worse than this in all of American history. Just because a small portion of the population has a living wage paying job and we have the faux creature comforts, that isn't how economic activity is measured. It's very simple. The average mean wage coupled with average mean cost of living being underwater= economy collapsed. There were even still rich people in 1929, but the country was still in a deep financial crisis. The most worrying thing that likely spells impending doom is the M1 and especially M2 money supply. That's unrecoverable. Still, there will always be wealthy and rich people as long as there is some type of capital in existence. Even if it's not fiat currency.

I know many people want to work. But there are a lot of people realizing that no matter how hard or long they work, they won’t be able to afford basic things, like food and shelter. The juice ain’t worth the squeeze. Let robots do all the work.
The worst part is the people working hardest are getting the least remuneration for their efforts and then shamed in the media for not taking more hours, more work despite the poverty wages. 40% of people in work need state support. That’s a reflection of greed not poor work ethics by working people. This is being done by design, by greed.

@@kaylat63 I've always delegated my investment decisions to an advisor, since suffering major portfolio loss early 2020, amid covid outbreak. I'm now semi-retired and only work 7.5 hours a week, with barely 25% short of my $1m retirement goal after subsequent investments to date.
I would not mind looking up the professional that helped you. I will be retiring in two years and I might need some management on my much larger portfolio. Don't want to take any chances.

Customizing your resume is very time consuming and doesn't increase the odds. Especially when most of the job listings are fake. At this point, landing an interview and an offer is the luck of the draw. Outside of having a direct contact, there's not much you can do to push the process along. You just have to be diligent and patiently wait. Something will eventually come along. If nothing else, this experience should teach us to curb our unnecessary spending habits (for those of us who have this), prioritize saving and living below our means when employed again.
Yes, if there was a job report, a NET jobs report, for Oct '24 thru Dec of '24 (19 days from now) I'd wager that an honest report would show 0 jobs added to the economy.
I think we need to also take into account all of the people who are underemployed and/or don’t have a job in their field. My husband has a PhD, and after he got let go from his last job, he’s been tutoring and subbing, but hasn’t been able to find anything in his field. It’s been almost a year and a half. But that’s not showing up in these statistics even, because he is employed.

Is it true tech companies are firing all of the old people so they can replace them with lower paid young people who are more easily willing to be subservient to corporate indoctrination?
We need to keep a list of how many of these businesses are actually hiring. If they arent't hiring they need to start having any sort of tax benefits they receive from workers paychecks diminished. We shouldn't have our taxes being used for any sort of business whose intent is to replace people with robotic automation/AI. The capitalism we have today is destroying this country ... everything you buy now is made in a foreign country and has even become a threat to our military being able to purchase what they need to operate.

Everyone needs more than their salary to be financial stable. The best thing to do with your money is to invest it rightly, because money left for saving always end up used with no returns.
Investing in alternate income streams should be the top priority for everyone right now. especially given the global economic crisis we are currently experiencing. stocks, gold, silver, and virtual currencies are still attractive investments at the moment.

One reason it’s taking longer to find a job is that many are looking for remote jobs as companies are trying to enforce return-to-work policies. This is creating a glut of people only applying for the smaller number of remote jobs remaining. Some people aren’t willing to accept going back to living in high-rent cities, commuting in insane traffic, paying for child care, etc. If I lose the job I have now I’ll freelance until I find another remote job.

I know right? I was on an interview last year and actually got hired and these cretins literally had no clue what to do next. I had to help them through the interview process. The owner was even there and told an employee to tell the other interviewer out there waiting that the job had been filled. The owner shook my hand and said his manager would take over onboarding, and he left. His manager never called me back, so when I followed up to see when my start date was an employee told me she quit the day before. I tracked the owner down in another store by phone and asked him what gives. He said she put in her 2 weeks notice (which was well before my interview) and that the position I was hired for would no longer exist anymore. Companies pretending to have jobs open are doing just that. Pretending. It costs $140 to do a full Dun & Bradstreet background on a company and I'd bet 90% would have a poor rating, so we're taking great risks with our time even applying for a job. None of this would be happening in even a somewhat healthy economy. Notice none of this went on when Trump was in office before COVID (which the globalists purposely unleashed on the world) Companies were actually profitable and wanted to hire talent.
Because everyone now want to require resumes and they only care about, the gaps( why you haven’t work for long instead of hire you even you have all that requirements) they should don’t even ask about resumes whenever they have trainings.
Having a resume requirement weeds out a lot of people who are less educated or lazy. It’s very easy to create a basic resume or have someone do it for you. I made one for my husband recently in about twenty minutes.

It took me over a year to finally find a job, and it just barely pays the bare minimum essential bills. Most of the job postings are ghost jobs or they don't pay enough to live anymore. My current job pays the same as what I was making 10 years ago at a different job, and back then it was plenty to live off of and still have money to save and go on vacation once a year. Now it's just enough for the bare essentials with nothing leftover to save. I don't go out to eat, I don't have subscription services like Netflix, I don't go out to do fun things, I can't even afford car insurance. I go to work and come home, go to work and come home, and repeat forever. I skip meals constantly to save a little money on groceries. I make about 1800 a month after taxes and 1000 of that goes to rent. Then I've got gas, electric, water, phone and internet to pay. Then gas in my car to get to and from work. All of that comes out to about 500 a month, leaving me with 300 for toilet paper, soap, shampoo, feminine products for me and my daughter, and groceries. It's just nuts. I couldn't imagine trying to make it on the pay offered at most jobs around here. I still randomly get rejection emails from lower paying jobs I applied to over a year ago when I was desperate to take ANY job. I've worked full time jobs for almost 20 years and stayed at almost all of them for at least 3 years, have worked in many different fields and have acquired very useful skills from each field, but that doesn't matter anymore. Having a good resume with a strong work history and good work ethic will get you nowhere nowadays, not even a minimum wage job.
Go apply for two low paying jobs. It will be like having one good paying job. I work as a janitor and dishwasher and I make 55k before taxes. I remember a time when you could find a job in one or two weeks. When the average job seeker needs 15 weeks to land a job, that would suggest the ratio of job seekers to the number of job openings is very high. In other words, there is too much competition for each job opening (on average). The big corporate layoffs in recent months and years also dumped a lot of job seekers onto the job market. Maybe the economy needs more jobs, despite the media's insistence that the "economy is doing great". And if you already have a job, the economy may feel great to you... but once you enter the job market and try to find a job, you might find it takes a long time to find one, as many people have. This is one reason people are choosing to stay at their current jobs longer. This may also contribute to wage stagnation, as companies now have the upper hand in salary negotiations.
I'm in tech and we're hiring like crazy right now. At least with SWEs it seems like the candidates that have been out of work for the longest also trend toward lower performance through the live coding exercises. Mag 7 are very much hiring right now as long as your coding AND engineering clear technical bar.
There's a lot of things people don't know. My msters program has a class where we learn how to break through the ATS systems. These are 20 year old systems. They have so many flaws. For example, people (myself included) love to put the | because it's a clean looking divider for human eyes, especially when you have something like Company Name | Job Title. But thee system get confused by the | symbol, and it will reject your resume every time if you have that in your resume. It has nothing to do with how qualified you are, but that these systems are horribly outdated, and thos who know how to beat them will do great. But most don't.
I think the only way to rapid the job market is having companies to require applicants to take entrance exams if they passed it they go to the interview
@@kristinevans4654 the biggest advice I can give you is don’t make your resume for a human eye. It should be readable obviously, but nothing fancy, no colors, just text, no images, no background colors. All of that stuff can confuse these systems and make your resume rejected. There’s tons of templates online for basic text resumes. You want to follow that because recruiters also want to see a familiar format. Anything that makes them work harder is an easy rejection.
@@frankiecarrrierivg03 I do agree but the problem is there’s simply not enough jobs in most industries for all of the applicants. If they made the system more fair and straightforward, they wouldn’t be able to blame you for not finding a job and then say “there’s just not enough qualified applicants” when “qualified” is vague and means you have a long list of abstract and random skills. It’s a broken job system in a broken economic system. And everything about it is designed to conceal how bad things are so those doing well can ignore how bad it is for the majority of people.
The 2 wonderful excuses potential employers are using are the following: we are not hiring now but if we people to draw from when the young people go back to school we will call you. Another is this: There are no job openings for your skill set at this time. My fiancé never could find a job because she is blind. The favorite excuse at every job interview she had was : We are not hiring (after she showed up because they were advertising for workers). She gave up and started a successful home business.
I talked to a recruiter who told me she literally posted a job and that it was for formality and that she would submit my application internally. It's about who you know. Did I get the job, no but I learned that the manager picked who they wanted after the internal submission was finalized. I was in the top 4.😂 Strong contacts are important otherwise you'll waste time. Cultivating strong contacts is a luck of the draw though from networking. You never know who exactly knows you or knows about you but when they do and your name is spoken highly of they'll bring your name attention for an opportunity.
It is only get worse as all these sectors laying people off are these comfy office jobs. Everyone will be lying and fighting to get another job like that to sit at an easy job on their phone. Issue, being replaced by automation and the same job is being reposted for half what they were making beforehand.

Break through initial canned responses is one battle. Breaking through canned mindsets that evaluate your interview responses is another. Sometimes jobs aren't buying what your selling... Even though they're claiming they need new talent
CVS corporate has been laying off thousands for the last two years and their budget recently got cut. They gave that budget to Aetna. We are expecting stores to start laying off people before long. 😢
The saddest thing is people who were deemed “essential workers” during the pandemic, and put their lives on the line to keep the economy going, are now having their livelihoods displaced due to automation. This isn’t good karma. At a societal level. Just saying. The public will be furious when they find out how many everyday heroes are secretly hurting right now… during the holiday season.
@chellastation It's terrible things get more and more expensive as the years go more, people are becoming homeless. The cost of everything is like through the roof. In fact, our national postal service has gone on strike because they wanna get paid more, meaning the people aren't getting their packages delivered. Not to mention, our Prime Minister is allowing too many immigrants to come in making Canada becoming overpopulated, and the job market is becoming more competitive, and with more immigrants, the more expensive everything gets.
If you check what figures are used to calculate the unemployed, they only include those actively searching for work in a 4 week period. How does the government decide how many people/percentage of the population are actively searching? (?? those drawing unemployment + those applying for unemployment + those actively using a government agency/Worksouce office to job hunt = unemployed???) (not counted= people ineligible or whose unemployment has run out, people who have given up job hunting--including the homeless who are turned down for work, people using non-government employment agencies so their not counted twice) If you limit the parameters used to calculate percentage, statistics can be made to lie/show only part of the truth. 😢
I never thought i would be out of work so long i thought i woukd get a job two months then i got a job recently and let me go due to budget cuts? Uh why hire if youre going to do that?

I got laid off earlier this year. Took me almost 4 months to land a similar job. Which to me is the normal range. So many companies want 3-4 rounds of interviews. Which takes forever. Then the background check, drug test…..etc.

I got fired 3 weeks ago and was hired at a better company 3 weeks later. BUT, I got lucky for the first time in 37 years.
keep that job we are already unofficially in a recession. And given the debt, a pandemic, bubbles in stocks bonds and houses, the m2 money supply contracted in 2022 for the 1st time since 1932 all kinds of records or rare facts, we can conclude as a fact that 2025 has the highest chance of the recession ending in a financial crisis/ crash then any recession outside 2008 going back to the 1940s

then any of these low info clowns on here because it's my business. When considering all the metrics, only
the great depression was worse than this in all of American history. Just because a small portion of the
population has a living wage paying job and we have the faux creature comforts, that isn't how economic
activity is measured. It's very simple. The average mean wage coupled with average mean cost of living
being underwater= economy collapsed. There were even still rich people in 1929, but the country was still in
a deep financial crisis. The most worrying thing that likely spells impending doom is the M1 and especially
M2 money supply. That's unrecoverable. Still, there will always be wealthy and rich people as long as there is
some type of capital in existence. Even if it's not fiat currency.

How are Americans supposed to work? A lot of discrimination is happening it's absurd and stressful for a company to just accept you.
Yup. A lot of discrimination for sure.
Thanks to AI customizing is much better and faster. But it hardly does much
Just customize your skills or qualifications. There's no reason to change anything else on the resume.

The key insight: Don't trust job listing numbers alone - they're increasingly detached from real hiring intentions.
I think we need to also take into account all of the people who are underemployed and/or don’t have a job in their field. My husband has a PhD, and after he got let go from his last job, he’s been tutoring and subbing, but hasn’t been able to find anything in his field. It’s been almost a year and a half. I've gotten five SUCCESSFUL interviews that completely lacked start dates or followthrough, even when I've called them back.
I know right? I was on an interview last year and actually got hired and these cretins literally had no
clue what to do next. I had to help them through the interview process. The owner was even there and
told an employee to tell the other interviewer out there waiting that the job had been filled. The owner
shook my hand and said his manager would take over onboarding, and he left. His manager never called me
back, so when I followed up to see when my start date was an employee told me she quit the day before.
I tracked the owner down in another store by phone and asked him what gives. He said she put in her 2 weeks
notice (which was well before my interview) and that the position I was hired for would no longer exist anymore.
Companies pretending to have jobs open are doing just that. Pretending. It costs $140 to do a full Dun &

I think it’s time to consider the implementation of a “Universal Salary” 🤓💡
Appreciate the tip! I’m struggling to find a new role after being laid off after my employer filed bankruptcy.

Not to mention, our Prime Minister is allowing too many immigrants to come in making Canada becoming overpopulated, and the job market is becoming more competitive, and with more immigrants, the more expensive everything gets.
@@elliottlewis65 Dang. That sucks.
We want the job of these 2 people. High pay, low stress, avg skill. Compare this with programmers, nurses, etc.
Programming is hard to compete with now that jobs are remote, and you are competing with the BEST and the BRIGHTEST in the WORLD!!!
have been looking for work for more than 15 weeks. Oh my, almost 4 months to find a new job? what a tragedy
Its because of HR incompetents doing nothing for weeks and drawing out the process forever andddd adding unnecessary requirements.
This just motivated me to get up everyday to go to work regardless of how tired i am. I'm thankful I'm working
So true. Basically if you factor all of that in unemployment is substantially higher across the board.
I never thought i would be out of work so long i thought i woukd get a job two months then i got a job recently and let me go due to budget cuts? Uh why hire if youre going to do that?
How come no is one is talking about the rise of auto tools to submit an application for people. Wouldn’t this also affect people getting an interview. If the number of applicants has increased, doesn’t this mean more competition?
In Pittsburgh PA almost everyone that I know has a job.
