Could you possibly make it with a gelatin packet and put it in the fridge instead so it would be less messy and easier for the cricket to eat it instead of thawing it out ?
So what do i do after i put the cubes in the freezer? because when ill take them out they will start melting if i try and feed it to the crickets ... or it it supposed to happen like that idk ... awesome vid anyway...
@@ashleyconley9301 gutloading is needed no matter what so the cricket is full of nutrition along with dusting. both are needed for any lizard you may have.
My questions are; does it make them stink like potatoes do?? That's really repulsive and I can deal with that. And could you also feed this to dubias and red runners??
They don’t EAT it ☹️🙁 I WASTED ALL THAT MONEY well actually my grandma did BUT ITS STILL THE SAME It is either this does not work or my crickets are just picky 😤😡
great idea blending and freezing!! I was looking for something innovative
I do the same works great. My beardie Gretchen loves the crickets so much more. I also add the repti-calcium with D3 in the mix also. great video 👏👏
My boyfriend has those same pajama pants lol. I usually just put slices of the veggies in the cricket enclosure. But I’m definitely going to try this!
Hahah that's awesome. And good luck!
What an awesome idea ! I have to try this out
Makes your feeders more nutritious for your reptiles!
Can you still gut load with orange in it? I didn't think it would be good for reps once they eat the animal
I wouldn't really
So once you feed this you can't feed them off?
is there a way I can make this into a cube "gel" form so it doesnt melt and would be a good source of water for them?
+Nikko99 You might be able to add gelatin or something but I don't really bother
Yep! Get the unflavored gelatin & follow directions then put in a pan in the fridge to set.
Will this be enough to keep the crickets hydrated as well? or do they still need water crystals?
Nope this will keep them hydrated as well!
Thanks for the quick response! :D
Just made mine this morning, tastes good! :p
s0ulr0ck3r haha very healthy!

do you put in a cube everyday or maybe every two days?
Depends on how fast they eat it TBH.
@@MikeTytula thanks
I just thought of this but what if i did this but then put the water gel stuff will that work
There is enough moisture in this to water the crickets as well.
Something interesting to note is that when making wet loads like this you can add non flavored gelatin to it to make it storable at room temperature

Would this work for locusts?
This would, yep!
Mike Tytula awesome thank you! Also subbed ❤️
Thanks Kerry!
If I were to dust crickets, should I still gut load them? I don't have a chameleon yet, I'm just doing as much research as possible before I get it.
yes gutload them no matter what
k thanks

can you ad milk for calcium too
+Bradley Peyton I wouldn't... goes rancid in the cage
+Bradley Peyton thanks
Awesome info thank you! Also, You sound like Steve O
hahaha I don't get that very often
@@MikeTytula probably just the video then lol. But while I'm here, my crickets have loved the recipe!
So does this count as a food AND water source for the crickets?
I do add a bit of water to the mixture after it thaws! but it acts as both for me.
can i add some calcium and multivitamin so the insect will be better and have more nutrition .
Yes
ok thanks.
Davin Aubade no actually you cant they kill me
Great video. Helped alot! will be getting stuff to make gutload tomorrow. :)
Thanks :)
My questions are; does it make them stink like potatoes do?? That's really repulsive and I can deal with that. And could you also feed this to dubias and red runners??
I doesn't stink no, and I believe you could feed it to both, but you might want to check individual ingredients for that one.
Mike Tytula Ok thank you
Will this work for meal worms?
Gilbert Vasquez I suppose it would but they might drowned in the water
So chameleons will like those crickets being fed to it? I'm getting a chameleon soon and want to make sure.
Yup! Super healthy for them as well!
I’m assuming this would be good for dubia roaches as well?
This should work fine for Dubias as well!
Can I use this to gut load my crickets and feed it to my crestie ?
+Paul Angeles You can feed the crickets to your crestie
nice coffee pot!!!
What?
around 3:00, your under cabinet coffee maker i like it
twillis1986 Oh ya! many many gallons of coffee has been made hahaha
Can u add honey for flavor
Why though crickets will eat it either way
Thanks
you could add some molasses, amazingly it has some beneficial nutrients in it, you could also add calcium powder as well.
J.A.Ratt85 Ya I dust them calcium so no real need to add it in here, but the molasses might be a good idea
If I were you I would use the food scraps for plant compost.
I like your pajama pants.
Thanks man
Isn't yam a sweet potato?
Micki Babe no
will this work for bearded dragons
This is to gutload crickets...
would this be safe for crickets i give to my bearded dragon
yes
Dude, a yam IS a sweet potato. Do u have any tarantulas?
I used to but recently sold them
That looks gross... SO COOOOL
haha
Can you use broccoli?
No
Mike Tytula ok thanks
couldn't you add gelatin and make it to a gel so they wouldn't melt and make a big mess??
IT never really became a big mess, but ya, you could add agar to make it harden up
Update on he Chameleon eggs??
That'll be coming :)
sweet!
Drew Russell ya!
Thanks dude
thank you
secret code???
They don’t EAT it ☹️🙁
I WASTED ALL THAT MONEY well actually my grandma did BUT ITS STILL THE SAME
It is either this does not work or my crickets are just picky 😤😡
I think you just have picky crickets, mine would clean their dish every time
YES the cubes are CRAP the crickets only survive for a few days. Next day---> dead.
