Loving vlogmas. With diagonals when I was teaching we always taught SOB which was Sit Outside Back. (Sit when the Outside shoulder comes Back towards you) Different riders found it easier when taught different ways like Harlow said but we always started with SOB.

This video is amazing, it's helping me a lot with my riding because Harlow is such a great rider and it's so good to be hearing her tips on riding. I am still trying to get the hang of sitting the canter on the the Pony I ride and fixing my habit of accidently moving my legs in front of the girth and I will be trying all these tips next time I ride, thank you Harlow and Chelsea for all the effort you have been putting into these videos and this channel because it is awesome and inspires a ton of people because I am not from a Horsey family and I have been told no to riding a lot but I kept going because you and the sport inspired me to keep going and early this year I was finally allowed to start Pony Club and that's where I met the special Pony that I ride atm!!

One tip when mounting your ponies: DO NOT let them walk off the second you get on. This could become dangerous. Especially if Harlen or your little cousins are getting on without you holding the pony. They could fall off if they are not secured. To fix this, if the ponies walk off once you get on, tell them to woah and make them stand for at the very least 10 seconds. Do this every time they try to walk off, eventually, they will not do it anymore. Not trying to accuse you of anything, Harlow! Your an amazing rider! Just giving you a little tip for the future!

Yes I totally agree! I have worked so hard with my pony as when she came she would not stand still but she stands dead still until I tell her to work on! I’m glad your saying this it’s a good reminder!

I am a western rider in America so some of English terminology I have always been a bit confused about, it was really enlightening to have it so well explained! I absolutely love all the effort put into your vlogs, and hope you and the ponies have a merry Christmas!!

One of my instructors used to say that to learn to sit, stand first. I had to do my entire medium dressage test standing in the saddle, without stirrups. She was right, I had a Velcro bum. We used to do challenges at the barn when i was about your age and see how long we could stand for.

Sometimes it’s hard to stay sitting in my saddle because I have a very bouncy pony but he is a pony so I’m not blaming him and when I do canter I feel like I’m coming up out of my saddle to much but I’m actually not… is that just me? Thank you Harlow for these amazing tips😊

This really helped because the mare I ride and compete on likes to look at herself in the arena mirror and look to the outside so doing a give and retake on the inside reins helped a lot thank you x

Do you have any tips on how to get your horses head tucked in towards their chest? (Not sure of the technical word for that). Because my horse is really stubborn and will just throw his head up when I try to get him to do that, is it because I ride bit less?
Well done Harlow - and yes even the Olympic riders have lessons - do you also do stretchers and flexibility exercises when you are not riding…I feel this is important for any rider to keep fit and flexible just like our ponies ❤
