    I was a little puzzled about his statement about Calvinism because at this point in time there is a lot of a different kind of Calvinism such as Hyper-Calvinism and so on and so forth. Because from what I research about Calvin's teaching and what I read is that foreknew people that are saved and all people by default chose not to follow God. As the Bible says,
    "“None is righteous, no, not one;
    no one understands;
    no one seeks for God.
    All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
    no one does good,
    not even one.”"
    As you said earlier, it was God open's the sinner's eyes, our eyes, that we may recognize our need for God's mercy.
    I believe that, man cannot save himself or herself from the God because man is sinful.
    God gives His unconditional love to some by opening our eyes how sinful we are and what God do in order for us to be saved.
    That we have definite atonement in Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior
    I believe that God can transform a person who didn't know God to a person who have a child like dependedly love God
    I believe in His promise that through tough times we may be pressed but not crush persecuted but not abandon, struck down but not destroy, that He who done a good work in me shall finish it.

      Yes, good observation. The only way any can be saved is by God's grace. Both Calvin and Wesley would agree about this. The main difference between Calvin and Wesley is that Calvin believed you don't really have a choice whether you would accept God's grace for salvation (this was predetermined by God), and Wesley believed adamantly that you do have a choice (free will) to accept or reject God's grace for salvation.
