Anner Chisline iglooo102 - I get that, very true. Steven's work is influenced by his love of theater and musicals which make it different from Fallon or the rest. Stevens projects seem more varied and cultured. His team is incredible as well, glad he has surrounded himself with a team as good as they are. No disrespect implied.
@@emilykranking9996 Thank you for replying to my 5 year old comment. :D What a gem of a video! Loved rewatching it. I don't remember if I saw this before or after this video but Fiddler was great! Who knew 5 years ago that 2016 -- of all years -- would be a simpler time?!! God I miss theater!
I really love every time Stephen makes performances like these on the show. He clearly loves broadway and the best thing is how he seems to genuinely enjoy himself, the smile on his face says it all, no fake!! Stephen you make me happy :)
Stephen Colbert and James Corden are truly raising the bar for late night. It's not enough to just be a good interviewer and a great comedian anymore. What separates the men from the boys nowadays is variety and talent, and the others (*cough, Kimmel) better step up their game.
FANTASTIC!! Ah…I do miss the days when Stephen Colbert s show was witty, joyful, and side-splittingly funny. There’s a difference between comically irreverant and acting like spite-laced propaganda puppet. WHY?? PLEASE get over yourselves, and bring this amazing entertainment back! We need it! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
That was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Omigosh, I love how the mistake of lining up for the wrong theatre apparently happens and happens often enough to have to address it in a skit. I went to go see the show back in January, and the cast is amazing. I love that musical ^_^
So much fun! I remember the Johnny skits, they were so funny and never stopped coming from left field! Like when he told Ed to hurry up and let's get the flock outs here! ( at the end of a shepherd skit)Colbert has my vote! He's doing God's work bringing back funny to Late Night!
If you want another great display of Stephen's singing talent,go watch the 2011 version of Company. The full thing is on YT And while he doesn't have a huge role,he's amazing in it.
Man, I was grinning like a fool through that whole bit. Amazing!
+Andy Finendale
Me too! I played in the pit for this years ago - still one of my very favorites!
That genuine smile of aww he had when they started singing.
"It was my last wish."
"Oh my G-d. Oh my G-d are you sick?"
"No. He just makes a lot of wishes and this was his most recent one."
did you just bleep put god
@@noodlearg9745 Some Jews choose to do this so as not to take the name in vain and as a sign of respect.
@@strongwilledwoman oh ok i didn't know
I think Stephen's secret dream to be on broadway just came true!
+aquaeyes33 It's funny since Colbert was in a Stephen Sondheim musical years ago.
Oops! Didn't know that..
aquaeyes33
Yeah, he was on the musical Company back in 2011. All Star Cast too.
+aquaeyes33 He is in New York where Broadway literally is.. he should do it.
+aquaeyes33 I agree, but why is harry potter and Hermione's love child in this?
You and your writers, Stephen, are just awesome. Such imagination!
Michał Wojtas much wow
Incredible work again from Stephen and his team. Amazing what he can dream and execute.
+ChasePiat What THEY can execute.
+ChasePiat agree 100%

+ChasePiat None taken. My heart fills with genuine joy when reminded of this musical and because the clip is cleverly funny.
LMAO ... Stephen's struggle with the beard and the ensuing frazzled Stephen as they dragged him into the number. Laughed so hard. Love it!
Danny laughing made it funnier

It's still so lovely and heart healing
Well, now I know what I'm going to humming all day.
That's exactly right.
+Mauricio Calderón Mora" Wonder of wonders, Miracle of miracles" is often playing in my internal soundtrack of life : )
+Daniel Harris Yes! Finally got that effin' ocean cake song out of my head!
I thought I was the only one...
I honestly didn't see this coming. Spontaneous Jewish burst. That was great! (really hard to match you Stephen 😊)
I really love every time Stephen makes performances like these on the show. He clearly loves broadway and the best thing is how he seems to genuinely enjoy himself, the smile on his face says it all, no fake!! Stephen you make me happy :)
Ok,that was the cutest thing I've ever seen
Now watch footage of Lin-Manuel Miranda's wedding (spoiler: also Fiddler)
Stephen Colbert and James Corden are truly raising the bar for late night. It's not enough to just be a good interviewer and a great comedian anymore. What separates the men from the boys nowadays is variety and talent, and the others (*cough, Kimmel) better step up their game.
"Omg are you sick ?"
"No! He just makes a lot of wishes and that was the most recent one" lmao!!
Absolutely awesome. My heart was filled with happiness. I was giddy through the whole thing. More! More!
That was amazing. When I was a kid, I was in Fiddler on the Roof too. It's like we're basically the same person, Steven.
+Dead Philosopher Clever post, Dead.
Same, I was perchik

Did somebody say, "TRADITION?!" Hell yeah.
Wow professional actors, you can always tell when someone cant act. These were very talented stage performers.
Performed in this musical this Spring. Now I want to cry man, I just got it out of my head!
I was the fiddler 2 years ago! Lechaim!
+Dsc yingyue
I was the "fiddler" (on flute) years ago, too! Isn't it awesome music to play?
on Broadway?
Dsc yingyue It's spelled "L'Chaim".
🎻
This may be the most important video I’ve come across in my research for an upcoming production of Fiddler. Thank you Stephen
This is so random- but beautiful!
+Isabelle Dzwonczyk Not random to certain viewers and great advertising for Broadway. And beautiful.
When they touch his face, his composition breaks for a split second - like woah, they're touching me.
Stephen looks a lot like Weird Al from Amish Paradise.
"So groom me no groom , find me no find , catch me no catch , unless he's a matchless match." Such lyrics!
This is still one of my favorite moments from Stephen. This and when he sings Button
Stephen is just the cutest.
never fiddled on the roof before but I guess there's a first time for everything
+Mark Summers Had the album in my house growing up, so it means a lot knowing a new generation's hearing it. It's inspirational.
I think you missed the joke.
I Love this show..I Admire Stephen Colbert.God bless you sir
this is great because my school is putting on Fiddler on the Roof this weekend and i'm the Fiddler. this was so cool 😁
Good luck you have no lines
He'll never make it in show business if he has such a hard time putting on a fake beard...
+Steven Torrey Men are so lucky they can get away with fake facial hair. The comedy potential in it is endless.
+Anner Chisline Oh, it's plenty funny when women do it too!
Anner Chisline it's actually funnier when women do!
Thats why he should grow a beard.
STEPHEN COLBERT IS THE BEST!!!!
Never get tired of watching this. It's like coming home.
God, Stephen Colbert looks so young. 2015/2016 was around the time I started watching the show too.
OMG YAAAASSS!!!!! That was the highlight of my day!!!!! That was EVERYTHING!!!!!!
It makes me ridiculously happy to see Mr. C this happy :D
I loved that “last wish” joke 😂😂😂

+writerspen010 i was SO close to being an investor in this revival.. unfortunately i couldn't raise the funds.
0:49 I'm literally wearing the exact same fiddler on the roof shirt as that little boy😱

I wish the matchmaker would match me with Stephen
+Lindsay Resnick Done! You get him online.
YENTE!
Sheogorath, Daedric Prince of Madness
We need a matchmaker over here! Hurry, Yente!
My school's doing a production of this right now that I'm playing the drumset for so it's pretty cool to see the songs done by professionals
That was just about one the best things that happened in talk shows ever.
Phenomenal performance by Colbert and company!!! ❤❤❤
That Jonah kid is going places.
+Aj Hampton And was that "Last Wish" bit possibly an indirect tribute to a brilliant Amy Schumer sketch?¿?
...but not to see Fiddler!
I hope acting school is one of those places coz it's evident he's never been to one
Stephen got a scare at 4:42 hahahahahaaaa
He blushed!
Oh my God, Stephen looks like he's hipster Lubavitch.
ikr
He's got the best job in the world.
I wish that happened to me every time I said Tradition.
Well. He ALMOST got the beard on. Lol
beard malfunction.....best part of the bit. :-D
Can't believe James corden has 4 times the subscribers than that of Colbert
well he does pointless stuff like car pool karaoke with megastars which attracts a lot more viewers although the content is entirely worthless
Not after the CATS movie lol
Fiddler on the Roof is currently on Amazon Prime. It is magnificent, please watch it ❤
Was this the moment Colbert was hit with the magic stick and his show finally started to work? Brilliant!
Well that was ridiculous lmao
Well that came out of the clear blue sky
You're actually a decent singer. Your broadway future awaits, Stephen.
I love Fiddler on the roof. The Movie, and I've also see the Broadway show
Next week is the opening night of my high school's production of Fiddler and this just made my day.
Love! Aaaand now I need to listen to the whole soundtrack.
Great he got the cast to come across the road to do a skit with him
...very talented guy...
how & why did this make me cry
Ah, I love Fiddler!
Big fan 2 Of that movie .my favoryte ☺
If you want another great display of Stephen's singing talent,go watch the 2011 version of Company. The full thing is on YT And while he doesn't have a huge role,he's amazing in it.
Having women all over him seems like Stephen's favorite thing as of late ;P
Awesome .
3:03 Oh Stephen, you and that left hand of yours.
Stephen should really do more music. He's a fabulous singer.
BEST THING EVER!!!!!!
I saw this cast live
I loved it!
I love everything about this.
That was really fun. Love Danny Burstein!!!
colbert is really colberg...i knew it
I am cracking up because I AM A JEW FROM TOPEKA.
Terrific! I'm surprised I never came across this before.
fabulous and a much needed moment
Just for the record my dad's entire family is from Kansas and there are actually a sizable number of Jews there!
Love this! Stephen was a good sport about it, and did an amazing job.
Love this...bravo!!!!!!
This was so cool.
Love my Colbert hour!! 😃😍😍👏👏👏💯💯 #CoolDudeStephen
The father is Peter Grosz from the Sonic commercials. He's on Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me a lot.
they forgot fruma sarah
Awesome!
That was magical.
Who are the ppl who disliked this? lol
You don't have to be Jewish to love this show!
SONIC guy took time out of his busy pork corn dog schedule to plug a show about a kosher milkman. Ahhh the magic of....whatever
Can Stephen and Jon be my gay dads
Well done!!
Loved this!
I truly have missed these moments
I like stephen colbert, bright man
Next week he will channel Confucius with equal conviction and enthusiasm.
I love this!!!
I loved this!
Watching this again, 2 years later..it's incredible how much the Trump presidency has aged him. He looks so much younger and happier.
weren't we all?
When is Stephen going to drop that mixed tape we all know he has been working on?
