The hyper development of Sihanoukville has had good and negative effects. Streets, promenades and other key infrastructure systems have been built. The negative effects have been that scam syndicates are in the city, small Khmer businesses have been struggling to compete, and the changes have turned away some Western tourists.
It wouldn’t be wrong to call Sihanoukville a Chinatown. Even PP could be considered a semi Chinatown.
