I think I have 70 tomato plants, half are tiny ones in hanging baskets and tumbling ones in tubs in the polytunnel. I am shocked to have already harvested over 2kg and that is just scratching the surface of what I can see. Just fingers crossed now we actually have some warm summer that we dont all get blight with all the wet weather wr have been getting.
From the RHS: "Dead, rotten patches on the stems: A disease called Didymella stem rot (caused by the fungus Didymella lycopersici) can attack the stems of tomatoes causing brown, rotted patches, at any height but most often at the stem base." Could be the issue, or otherwise, could possibly be blight, are leaves affected as well with brown patches?) But your harvest is beautiful regardless. For me so far I've harvested about 6 Sungold and 2 'Bloody Butcher'. I have over 30 plants though so plenty more to come (hopefully) as long as they hold up ok.
Mine too, never had leaf curl like this before. They’re slowly setting fruit and only the cherry tomatoes are beginning to ripen. Frustrating year on tomatoes for me.
Pork Chop is the most prolific tomato in my garden. But I only live about 2 hrs from Wild Boar Farms so I think it’s particularly adapted to our climate which is hot and dry.
Burleque are my favourite beefsteak and seem to do well most years. I think the mould on your tomato stems is grey mould (Botrytis) caused by too high humidity/insufficient ventilation in greenhouse/tunnel situations
Mixed bag on my toms, I've gone peat free for the first time. I added coco coir mixed in with a couple and got double the return. I'll probably experiment a bit more next year and see what the best return is.
Tomatoes looking fabulous Tony.
What is the sucker challenge? Take off, plant and get them through the winter?
Some nice Toms there Tony. That almost looks like blight the way it's spreading into the stem😮
How have u done this all my tomatoes are green and so are my chilli peppers.....???😮😮
Quite a few of my tomato plants have the same type of mould where leaves were cut.
Hey Tony, nice tomato haul! Well done!

That grey stuff on your tomato plants is botrytis, a type of fungus.
Aren’t you tempted to pick a cherry tomato as you pass them and just enjoy it straight away x
Nice selection of tomatoes
Did you sterilise your secateurs before you cut off your tomato stems? And sterilise your secateurs between cutting stems? Nice harvest 🍅❤
All my tomato plants have ended up with serious leaf roll 😢

Ooohh, I envy you! My dream is to visit Wild Boar Farm and try more varieties. They definitely are my favourite tomato breeders.
Beautiful 'maters Tony. I have always found that the wrinkly Pomadoro types have fantastic flavour for sauces and such. Make some salsa!! 😃
Some nice big tomatoes there Tony! Can anyone else hear the buzzing in the video? I have been noticing it in the videos lately. Take care!
interesting watching you picking and Jessie just planted hers up in the poly hut....looking forward to seeing who does best
Hi Tony, lovely tomatoes, those, steak ones are huge! Well done! Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
👍👍
I think ALL mine are going to be 'one off specials' ...if I'm lucky. They are all still at the flower stage!
Ive tried the label maker for the second year, i dont film so i can vaguely see what a couple are 🤣. Back to the Sharpie foe me lol
My tomatoes have not done great this season

Could well be come to think of it but strange how it only effects one variety

Just picked our 1st today
I am growing Burlesque this year, if they come out that size will be happy. Think next year will take the suckers to make more plants.
Get yourself a Brother P Touch H101C label printer the labels don't fade they even last until the next year.
What is the constant whine in the background Tony ? I noticed it on potty mouth last week
Hi tony try to grow Cuban salami, marzano, oxheart, gigantamo, Ann dusky tomatoes, I grow then this year.
My pork chop all went just like yours Tony. So I have none 😢
