By the way, I am rolling out some of the new 2025 planners on my updated website: todaywithterrik.com/shop and I am so excited about them. See you next week....should we do a live clean with me again? I'll put up a poll and see if there is any interest! Have a blessed weekend. T
Terri, Sweet lady! Thank you so much! I grew up in a single mom household. She didn't clean much because she worked a lot. I knew nothing for so long!! I can relate to what you are saying the tears, and talking to my past self so much! I love the What! you inserted! 🤣 I found flylady and didn't get it until I embraced the baby steps. And then I found your channel and you have helped me more than you ever will know. I have seen how much you have grown over the years. Love you my friend ❤
Hi Terri, this video encouraged me sooooo much. I've been struggling to clean and declutter after 9 years' of illness and collecting "things to resell" bc i was too sick to go back to work. What I couldn't admit was I was also too sick to run a reselling biz. TH-cam makes it look so easy 🤦♀️..and maybe it would have been if my health was better. Acceptance is HARD. I've been watching decluttering/cleaning vids and making slow but steady progress. Found this video at a really low point -- felt like you spoke to my soul! 😭 I rewatch it when I need a boost and I'm still making PROGRESS so thank you!! I appreciate your praying for us at the end of the video too. Bless you!!!!!
I am sorry that you've struggled with work and reselling, but your comment is such a blessing for me. TH-cam also makes being a creator look easy and I get pretty discouraged by my slow journey as well. It is so funny how God pushes me to create videos and I get discouraged by slow growth but when you need to hear my message, he delivers it to you and then you bless me with your comments. It really is all in His plan and timing that we lift each other up. Thank you my friend!
PREACH! I started with FlyLady in 2013 after I retired. I wanted to deep clean and declutter my whole house. But, I found myself pivoting from task to task and finishing nothing. FlyLady gave me a structure. Days to park tasks so I didn’t feel the need to do it ALL NOW. Over the years - I’ve tweaked it by adding tasks to make life run a little smoother. I have a 🔲Morning Routine to reset myself and home. 🔲Coffee Time Routine where I sit with coffee and clear email, voice mail, call histories, messages and photos from my cell phone and iPad. I take my morning meds. Check my planner. 🔲Afternoon Routine - zone task, daily focus, fold/put away laundry, strip the daily mail, make supper. 🔲After Supper Routine when I clean the kitchen surfaces, wash dishes, reset coffee maker, put out fresh dish towels, clean the floor. 🔲Before Bed Routine - to prep for bed and the next day. 🔲Desk Work Routine. I do my desk work on Wednesday. 🔲Sunday Reset & Refresh. Just a few tasks I like to do to get a head start on the week. Fresh Bedsheets. Deep, slow vacuum. Clean my Cpap machine. And, Refills. I keep a list of items to check for needed refills. I’m so easily distracted. If I have to stop to refill something - I could easily lose my mojo! So, I check thru my list once a week. The tasks are dated so I know when I last did it. It’s also a good reminder to replace the HVAC filter and run a clean cycle on the clothes and dish washers. It doesn’t take long to do it since everything doesn’t need refilling every week. ✳️ Loved the video. Thank you for the prayer. May God continue blessing you. ❤️ FYI - I wrote “PREACH” before I knew you were going to pray for us. 😂 FlyLady helped me. I’m glad she helped you too!
I love your system! I’m going to create an official coffee time routine. I kinda have one but that is so good. You are a woman after my own heart. My planner is truly my brain to track and inventory everything!
Hi Terri! I’m a toddler mom with one on the way. I’ve been watching your videos since my daughter was born 2 years ago. I was desperate to find something to help me keep the house clean as a fulltime working mom and I just relate to you so much. Thank you for being REAL and being YOU. You are my favorite cleaning person to watch bc you are so relatable and authentic. Just wanted to let you know! ❤
Thank you for sharing. Early on it felt like crickets and I just didn’t know if I was really helping. God kept pushing me and I am so thankful to know (as always) he had a purpose even when I felt so alone.
I found flylady first and thought she was great, but as time went on, I realized it wasn't working. It wasn't until I found Dawn the minimal mom and heard her say, you don't need all this stuff and I give you permission to let it go, even if it was a gift. That was my turning point.
Judy, thank you for always uplifting and supporting me and the community. We are truly a community of amazing women and I want to change the isolation we can sometimes feel at home. Thank you thank you thank you. You are my secret sauce!
Watching this again during a break. I've noticed that this past week, my evening clean up has been reduced to only an hour, and that's STILL with doing the final stage of laundry, and finishing up the hand washing dishes, especially last night. I think the one little change that has made all the difference, was I took just 5 mjnutes early in the week and moved some things around on my kitchen counter that I absolutely NEED to have out. I have a lot on my counters, but it's all things that have functionally and aesthically EARNED their place there. But as much as I kept re-arranging everything now and then, the arrangement was still making clean-up overwhelming, but just a little easier...until this time. EVERY time I go in there to prep or cook now, the clean up as I go and afterward is easy peasy! NOW, I'm not spending every cleaning session during the day doing dishes or kitchen clean up. I"m only doing it during and after prepping or cooking...so I no longer feel stuck in the kitchen all day when I'd rather be doing something else. It's amazing how just one little tweak in the organisation of a space can change EVERYTHING about the function and feel of that space. Now I finally feel like I can take control over how I work all the other routines throughout the day, It truly IS the little tiny changes here and there that add up to HUGE progress 😊
My heart dropped when I saw this title. My best friend, surrogate sister and bonus mother (all in one. She was the most phenomenal woman) just passed away unexpectedly. Her name was Terri Kennedy. This video was so much more than FlyLady for me. I needed to hear every single thing you said! It was like a god wink. It’s time to pull up my own bootstraps! I’m so thankful to have seen this recommended video. Subscribed, to say the least! ❤
I'm so glad you're speaking next week! I remember when I first found you and your worries about your channel. Well done, Terri! I got my free ticket before I saw you were a speaker, but I'll definitely watch your presentation! Good on you!
I've never seen one of your videos before. All I see is a gorgeous woman who does a fabulous job with her makeup and most importantly a woman filled with passion and love and heart. Gorgeous
@TodaywithTerriK you're welcome and it's true. I actually thought all of those things before you mentioned seeing all of your flaws. Hopefully, you can begin to accept more positive (and realistic) ideas about who God created. :)
Your videos mean more than you know. ❤ As a 27 year old mom to 2, I quit work to stay home this year and it has been a rollercoaster of trial and error. You are the wisdom, the inspiration, the encouragement, etc that always divinely comes at just the right time. God bless you!
I needed to hear this today. I started out with FlyLady the same way you, by trying to rush through the baby steps and jumping right into it. It wasn’t long before I started to fail at it because I hadn’t taken the time to build one habit at a time and stick with it until that habit became automatic for me before jumping right in to trying to master the next habit. I learned that you have to practice each habit until it is well ingrained in your daily routine before you can move in to the next step. Otherwise, you’ll fail again. I started using theFlyLady method in 2008 when I found a copy f her book in the used bookstore I worked at. I was so excited that I shared it with a coworker. She liked it so much that she bought her own book. The Sink Reflections book was life changing for me. I also follow Cass, Dana, and Dawn. My new routines are kind of a combination of things I’ve learned from all of them.
Your best video yet! Congrats on being part of the summit! You are prettier than ever. I needed encouragement to get myself put together daily instead of doing all of my dirty stuff first & felling bad about myself the bulk of the day.
It’s my first time watching your channel. You articulated several of the unwelcome thoughts I have about myself. Wish you could see the radiant beautiful light I see in you right now. God bless you, my dear ✝️
Happy to see you back. Taking time to recharge is a wonderful kind of self care. You motivated me to do a quick swish and swipe. My mind was telling me I didn't have time for. Cheers see you next week.
I am excited to be back. Thank you for watching and yay for getting the swish and swipe done. I get so much more done when I’m listening to TH-cam. Do you watch any of the live clean with me videos?
Thanks for your videos this week. I am looking forward to hearing you next week. I believe you are right about making it your own routine. I have been struggling with that over the past few weeks. You are doing great! You really are an inspiration. Enjoy your weekend and know that my prayers are with you.
I truly appreciate the support and encouragement. It’s crazy that we ride hard for one routine or another when it’s really just a foundation that gets you started.
You got this! I’m here if you get lost or need a cheerleader. Have you joined the facebook group yet? You can share your progress there and see others who are in the same boat!
The baby steps changed my life. I trusted her. I followed directions. It teaches you to be satisfied with not having everything done with the underlying knowledge that I will get to things in zone cleaning. I think the greatest peace comes from keeping belongings to a minimum (container concept from Dana K. White), a clean sink, swish and swipe and make my bed in the morning.
Blessing!! You Are Beautiful - Smart - Kind - Loving God Made You All good Terri We All Struggle With Everything You Do Thank You for all you hard work on your content I am a Big Fan Got my free ticket too
Hi! You just popped into my feed when i really needed a boost. Thank you (and for the prayer)! Have a blessed day and i look forward to seeing more of your content! 🌻
You are so welcome! I love when it works out like that! I hope to film today and get another video up by Monday. If you like a cleaning marathon, I dropped that yesterday.
For me, I can see a definite correlation between the state of my mind and the state of my house. If one is cluttered and messy, it is very likely that the other is as well. But on the positive side, it seems that an improvement on one side has benefits on the other also. Cleaning one area of my house, so that my eye can rest there and see calm and beauty causes my mind to feel a bit more restful too. Praying for all of us.
Transformation is hard but it is also were the beauty is. The climb changes us, improves us, makes us more prepared, and raises our eyes to new heights. Thank you so much.
You are such a lovely lady...thank you for putting your time and energy in this kind of content. I'm not a relige person but always listen to your prairs out of respect for you
Thank you! I enjoyed your presentation in the Get Organized HQ. It is so easy to be overwhelmed in looking at all the stuff in my house, but I know it didn't happen overnight. I will continue with small steps. Right now, I am focusing on my kitchen. I get the dishes done, the main counters wiped, but I have a desire for it all to be really clean. I want more than just the basic to do list. MS slows that down, but a little at a time. Thanks for the prayer.
Slow and steady still wins. The best thing I did was get consistent with “closing “ my kitchen every night by loading and starting dishwasher, washing anything that doesn’t fit, wiping the stove and counters, tidying anything left out, and putting new towels out. In the morning I can use fresh energy to clean out cabinets or fridge for 15 min. After lunch I make sure to keep things tidy. The kitchen is hard but this really helps! I’m so glad you met me at the conference. I’m the friend next door just doing my best to balance what we need to do and enjoying life.
My friend, you can do this. I am truly a lazy girl deep down. I would rather binge watch hallmark movies than work-which is why I haven't been consistent with videos lately. My daily routines get done 99% of the time now-make bed, tidy bathroom counter, unload dishes, 1 load of laundry, close kitchen, tidy counters (empty sink), room rescue (living room reset before bed). This is my "non-negotiables". The weekly home blessing I usually tackle if not Monday then Tuesday for sure. The other daily focus tasks are fluid and get plugged in as I can. Zone cleaning is less consistent but because I do the routine every day and home blessing weekly it is just never that dirty. It takes a little bit to get things on autopilot but seriously I do not even consider my daily routine as "cleaning" anymore it's like brushing my teeth, you just do it.
I resonated with every bit of this! I am very isolated and overwhelmed, mostly bc I have lost all physical strength and maybe face with moving. I have been my house 24 years and let it go while we were/are having marriage issues. I didn’t do the routines all these years. I couldn’t have been out of this mess. But I feel like I have been flywashed enough if I wasn’t in crisis mode I would eventually get it together. I am praying for the strength to crisis mode for a couple of weeks before we go out of town. Hubs is no help… this is on me.
I am praying for you not to get discouraged. Work on the side table closest to you and be excited when you can enjoy it. Small tweaks lead to giant peaks. You are building cleaning muscles.
You are so beautiful Terri - inside and out💜 Isn't it crazy how hard we are on ourselves?! When someone I love puts themselves down sometimes I will say, hey - don't talk about my friend like that!😅 In a sort of joking way, but it does also remind them to be as kind to themselves as they are to their friends (which I struggle with too at times, of course). Your videos helped me get started with FLylady and make it so accessible. When my dad (who I live with) had knee surgery this summer I did not do a WHB or zone clean for a good three weeks - but I did make my bed, swish & swipe, and keep the kitchen clean, thanks to the habits I had built up. And your message that it's okay to let things go from time to time, and then come back to it, really helped. And I did come back to my version of Flylady once Dad needed less help. And none of our friends who came by to bring food and visit and help out cared that things were a little dusty and cluttered in the meantime.
Exactly! We have a very narrow view of ourselves and our homes. We need to uplift ourselves and our friends for sure. Taking the pressure off of myself to be super strict with cleaning and then beating myself up for life happening which 100% is going to happen has really let me relax and enjoy things more. I am so happy it is working for you too but more importantly that your dad is ok.
❤ I always get the all access pass to the Get Organised HQ week, only because of the time difference, I wouldn't be able to attend the talks I would like to or would find most beneficial without it 😊
Terri, did you do a video interview with Dana K White? I saw your picture of her and I couldn’t tell if it was a video or not. Thank you for encouraging us
I wish!!! No, I bought her book and did a decluttering video with some of her tips. The thumbnail was a screenshot of her and me but not real. If you have any connections, I would LOVE to!!!
This looks and sounds like an older video I've seen before...but it us SUCH a powerful message, so I'm glad it got posted again. I fon't kmow if you have ANY idea just how during you truly are 😊😊😊
Hi there sweetie pie hope you are well just take one day at time I always try to clean my kitchen lounge room and bathroom before I go to bed it is good start to the day love from Eugenie your friend xxx 🍁🇦🇺🏡💖
🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️. I totally identify with "mental messiness"!! Thank you for putting it into words. Sounds a little nicer than scattered. LOL anyway - for me, creating (and following) consistent AM & PM routines is one of my biggest challenges. Thank you for the reminder that things take time. And FlyLady tells us that. Guess I just needed to hear it from you today. Thanks for sharing your heart!! 🙌🙏👆👏
A couple off book recommendations: It's Okay Not to be Okay by Sheila Walsh. Get out of the Pit by Beth Moore . Chasing the Vines by Beth Moore. You Rock Girl! Love and Hugs
I am 67 years old and often feel like it is too late for me. I get frustrated because I don't have the energy that I used to. I had a very difficult time after going through a divorce as well. I was 17 when my dad passed away, 24 when my mom passed away (my oldest son was only two months old), and I have no siblings. Talk about feeling alone. My ex was an alcoholic and an abuser as well as a terrible husband and father. I was completely alone with a 3 year old and an 18 month old when I finally left him. I had to work full time and try to raise my sons as well. I was never able to keep up with housework or cleaning and it just continued throughout my life. I have so much shame and guilt about it but I feel totally stuck and I am miserable. How can I get past this at this late stage of my life? Is there even hope for me?
Oh, my friend. My heart is breaking for you. You are in a pit, I know because I was there once too. My biggest advice is to just get mad at the stuff that keeps trying to hold you down. Anything you have that makes you feel bad in any way needs to go away. Do not let guilt stop you from clearing out the negativity. My dad abandoned me and I carried that guilt and self loathing around a long time by keeping "fat pants" and things that filled up that empty part in my heart. It builds walls to protect you but it actually seperates you from finding the joy. Do not worry about yesterday or tomorrow. Each day I want you to pray before you even sit up thanking God for your legs that you can do things and then ask for the strength to let go of something today. It is a process but start with your side table or a corner of the counter...whatever you want back and then make that area your only focus until things get done. Ask yourself would you be able to find this IF you needed it yesterday. If the answer was no and it isn't truly important, then let it go. I found that I kept a ton of little things like tissue paper for gifts but could never find it when I needed it. For many years I decided that if I go to the store and get more most of the time anyway, why am I storing random pieces all around the house that never get found. I was able to trade a $3 maybe one day I'll need it item for more space and peace EVERY day. I hope this helps and remember, you are NOT alone!
@@TodaywithTerriK Thank you so much for your kind and inspiring words Terri. Yesterday I actually spent a couple of hours decluttering some things and felt really good about it. I had some energy! But today was a bad day and I was so incredibly fatigued and I slept a lot. But I am really trying to give myself some grace and to understand that I will have some days like today. I so enjoy your videos and your willingness to be so open about your own life and experiences. But what I really find most comforting is your strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. I was brought up in a Christian home and the last 17 years of my career I worked as an HR/Business Manager for a Lutheran church and school. God bless you in all you do.

Flylady says you can’t clean clutter. She was telling people to declutter long before The Minimal Mom.
True beauty comes from the heart. You are the epitome of kindness, graciousness, and gratitude. Thank you for creating a safe community for us!
Judy, thank you for always uplifting and supporting me and the community. We are truly a community of amazing women and I want to change the isolation we can sometimes feel at home. Thank you thank you thank you. You are my secret sauce!
The fly lady was the only system that I stuck with, I love the motto, Progress not perfection! I did tweak it a little for my lifestyle.
Same! BTW, I started a GoFundMe to help her and her community: gofund.me/e68746fd. They were hit really hard from Helene!

I didn’t know that Fly Lady was an offshoot of Sidetracked Home Executives! I loved them! Great to see you again, Teri. Missed you at VidSummit. ❤
Yep, that’s how it started. I ended up going to GWVL in April instead this year. How was it?

I always appreciate your honesty and your prayers. I feel so blessed when you pray for us ❤
Im so glad you are blessed by it!
You blessed me! God bless you as well! Thank you I’m so glad I found you this week in organizational hq!
I’m so excited to help and make your day a little better. It’s amazing how it all worked out me to even be a part of GOHQ. I’m beyond blessed!

Having a place to start and then finding different versions seems to give the freedom to change which is what makes TH-cam so great.
I prefer declutter by Dawn, Cass, Dana, and Organize 365. I prefer Flylady on the cleaning part. Glad you are back as well.
@@RondaFouch Love them all too!
I need to do organize 365.
Your best video yet! Congrats on being part of the summit! You are prettier than ever. I needed encouragement to get myself put together daily instead of doing all of my dirty stuff first & felling bad about myself the bulk of the day.
Ah, that means so much!!! Just doing my best to be here and be real. Life is hard so why do we try to do it alone?
It’s my first time watching your channel. You articulated several of the unwelcome thoughts I have about myself. Wish you could see the radiant beautiful light I see in you right now.
God bless you, my dear ✝️
We are blind to our own worth. I am learning to believe in myself and step into my authority. Hoping it inspires others to do the same.
Thank you so much for your transparency!! You just explained my brain! Already have a ticket - looking forward to next week!
We are sisters in chaos! See you there.
Thank you so much! I'm in a bad way right now and found you today! Now off to start the baby steps
I wish I wasn’t so hard headed and wasted so much time fighting it. It truly opened my eyes to what true management is.
Blessing!! You Are Beautiful - Smart - Kind - Loving
God Made You All good Terri

Thank You for all you hard work on your content I am a Big Fan
Got my free ticket too
Thank you so much! He designed me to help I guess. My mess for your blessing seems kinda crazy but he likes to use cracked pots.
I appreciate you 😊
My testimony to Fly Lady is very similar! Thank you for sharing 💕 and for the prayer. Take care and enjoy your weekend.
Thank you. I’m at lunch with my hubby and ate far too much Korean BBQ!
I was just thinking as i was watching this video for motivation. How i like your makeup today! I love these colors on you.
Oh thank you! It’s probably my new sweater. I rarely wear this color but it’s the same makeup as usual.
Yes, exactly!!!
I really appreciate your authenticity.
People please remember Fly Lady and others had to learn to become more organized. Transformation is hard
Transformation is hard but it is also were the beauty is. The climb changes us, improves us, makes us more prepared, and raises our eyes to new heights. Thank you so much.
You are such a lovely lady...thank you for putting your time and energy in this kind of content. I'm not a relige person but always listen to your prairs out of respect for you
Thank you. I really want to send good things in my prayers and I really appreciate that you stay!
I just wanted to say thank you! This was exactly what I needed!
I'm so glad! Sometimes I need a reminder of the bigger picture.
Thank you for your motivating words and blessing. I needed to hear you today. Blessings to you! Just subscribed to your channel.
That is a bigger picture bringing you the right words. I’m blessed to be a witness. Thank you for joining!
I have done Flylady for years. I don't do the home blessing, just jump right into the zone. Thank you.
I can see that one day that might work for me too…when the last of the kids are gone.
Feel your pain ~ understand that pain ~ want out of that pain.
I’m so sorry. Prayers.❤🙏🏻
I am so happy it is working for you too but more importantly that your dad is ok.
thank you You are beautiful and smart and probably a great mom God's princess❤
I tell my hubby that I may not be perfect but I know im a good mom.
Definitely need to hear these words too and thanks for the prayer💕
You are so welcome
Oooo! I needed this today. TODAY.
Good!!! It’s meant to be.
❤
I always get the all access pass to the Get Organised HQ week, only because of the time difference, I wouldn't be able to attend the talks I would like to or would find most beneficial without it 😊
I missed a bunch last year so I’m glad I got the all access this year.
Many hugs!! ❤
Ah, thanks!
I fon't kmow if you have ANY idea just how during you truly are 😊😊😊
You know me, I repeat myself a lot. 100% unintentional.
Hi there sweetie pie hope you are well just take one day at time I always try to clean my kitchen lounge room and bathroom before I go to bed it is good start to the day love from Eugenie your friend xxx 🍁🇦🇺🏡💖
HI! I’ve missed hearing from you. You were one of the first commenters that kept me going early on. Thank you so very much!
You are beautiful in every way my friend! ❤
As are you! 😁
Thanks so much for this
So welcome!
thank you 💕
You're welcome 😊
Yes, I agree. Consistency is the key but no one is perfect. Just remember to give yourself grace.

Thank you for your video. I really need the encouragement. So much of what you said really resonated with me. Thank you for your prayer as well
You are so welcome 🙏
Nothing wrong in crying
Thanks. I’m a tender heart.

Love it.
So sorry for your loss. Praying you continue to feel His blessings snd comfort in this. I am humbled to be a part of it all.
