A contract violation disappears after your 100th proceeding order. It only counts those within your latest 100 total orders. Not saying not to get things as straight as you can with support. I got mine because I couldn't prove that I dropped off an order a customer said wasn't dropped off. I was told in chat that it would disappear as I stated here. It dropped off a few days later.

I really appreciate the fact YOU requested to have the food REMADE. It is a Food Safety issue. If food is waiting around too long, then bacteria will form and create a health issue for anyone who consumes it. Also, a customer is less likely to RE-order from that restaurant/delivery service if their food is not delivered Hot/Fresh. A reasonable restaurant will want their food delivered as FRESH as possible because any food-borne illness related issues will be the restaurant's fault. Customers have paid a PREMIUM to have food delivered to their Front Door. As such, It is the OBLIGATION of the delivery driver to deliver food to the Customer as quickly and as Hot/Fresh as possible. This is why it is ALWAYS important for Drivers to use Thermal Delivery Bags to store the food from pick up to delivery. Unfortunately some drivers cannot be bothered to do so..and they SUCK and should NOT be delivering food :( YOU did the right thing by questioning the Restaurant and requesting a remake. I would do the same. In the case you have described (although time consuming) I would be tempted to contact the Customer and let them know their food has not been properly temperature regulated by the Restaurant, before you arrived there, so they may CANCEL the order (via DoorDash, UE, etc) and order from a different restaurant who DOES care about Food Safety. The obligation of any Delivery Service is to deliver Great Food..and not Great Food-Borne Illnesses. :)
I’ve did an experiment on myself when I accepted all the cheap orders thats all I got, when I declined them and accepted all the good orders, they sent more good orders. It’s an algorithm that stores all the orders ur likely to accept.

You got to know when to let those orders go! You're causing yourself unnecessary stress! I've seen people with amazing acceptance rates get deactivated!
That same thing happened to me and I received a contract violation. There was seriously nothing I could do but restart my phone and idk why the order wasn’t picked up by another dasher in the process. So frustrating and definitely a disservice to the customer AND to me as a dasher!
Acceptance rate does NOT matter. You make more money by being selective with your orders. The crap orders/ long distance are not worth your time, money, or gas.
If your cellular is not working well you can recalibrate it by turning on airport mode (for an iPhone) and turning it back on real quick so the sim can recalibrate to the nearest tower. Sometimes the cellular needs help. And I’ve noticed that everyone I talk to is having spotty service lately. I’ve had success doing that with my iPhone. I’m not sure how to turn off the cellular on an android arc but I imagine there is something in the settings to turn on and off airport mode.
Dont worry about the acceptance rate. Just take orders that are at least $1 per mile and make sure to see if its 2 orders before you accept if it is worth it. Also between 2-5 pm you may get the no tip orders combined with a tip order so be mindful of that.
I'm watching these old videos and your rules that you have now are so different . I'm glad in your new videos that you don't except orders that don't pay at least $2:00 a mile. I've done Instacart but rather just pick up orders and deliver. It's a lot of work to shop & deliver and carry lots of bags for little money.
We dash in Nebraska and our app is constantly getting stuck! It is so annoying. When you call door dash support they just tell you to restart your phone. It’s not our phones it’s your app DoorDash! I feel your pain. I love your channel by the way!
These gig apps are horrible. It worked for me during the pandemic, but the ppl who own these apps are worthless. I had to stop bc not only is it slow here in Fl, I would get the most shit, no profit orders. So many non tippers, higher mileage than pay… all while using my wheels… the only way in this time of life is to plant your own seeds. Started my business during COVID while driving for Uber and Doordash… I have to say, I am so glad I did that. The seeds been planted … we all deserve abundance… please dash with a higher purpose everyone. These apps don’t give a damn and most corporate jobs are just as bad.

I got a violation once for being late cause the app crashed on me on way to deliver the order.i couldnt fix the app at time i clueless what to do but turned out i needed to update the app on play store.i recommend you update the app 1-2 times a week also clear your storage apps cache delete call history & optimize your phone.
Any time you have a glitch like that with the app. With android, go into settings, scroll to apps. Find the dasher app. Click on it. Scroll down to storage. Click on clear cache. Then close and reopen your app. The other thing you can do is turn off phone. Then wait a bit, then hit the power key and up volume key at same time and hold it until you see a special screen pop up. Use the down key to scroll to clear cache and hit yes. Then it will restart your phone.
Do you know they throw away food every day at restaurants? So why wouldn't they give a customer a fresh plate of food? They don't care about the customer 's experience...
One of the reasons I stopped doing DoorDash is how often their app does not work, it make you waste time, and then on top of that, you get penalized. I now do only Uber Eats and I love it! Uber Eats has great orders, it is easy to work the app, and there is a great support when needed.
Hi I am a dasher too. I too got a contract violation for being late for the exact same reason on wait for it...... the exact same day! I had the order and the ap went down i had no address nothing and the screen stayed red and wouldn't load. I still have the violation today even tho i disputed it. it will prob ruin my top dasher.
You really had a day, I could see the frustration DD had an outage the other day that is probally why you had so many issues with the chick fil a order.
I just found your channel and appreciate your insights bc I'm new at DD. One thing you may have heard at this point is that if you turn off the wifi it won't continuously be searching and slowing down your phone.
I have an acceptance rate of 8 percent today. I don't accept any order less than 2 bucks a mile. PERIOD. I use much less gas and make more money this way. I get around the "Dash Now" incentive by scheduling my dash times 5 days at a time. :) I also drive for Uber Eats, which in my market pays MUCH better than DD
So sorry for what you have been through. Don't worry about the contract violation. Appeal it, regardless it will be removed after 100 additional deliveries (more or less) the problem with the app has been going on for awhile. Sometimes it can't track the GPS or it just goes idle.I don't know if you work Ubereats but, if you don't, I strongly suggest you apply. When you only rely on one app, when something goes wrong you lose the income for the day. If you do DD and UE just make sure to pause the app when you accept an order from the other one. When everything goes wrong is better to turn everything off, go home for one hour and, then try again. No need to be waisting time and gas and being frustrated. Hope this helps. Good luck 👍
It is your starting point the reason it takes you to where you want to be. Change your starting point slightly and it will not send you where you dont want to be. Also never use Door Dash hotspots. Instead make your own.
When the app freezes or gets really slow like that, reset the app. For me on an iPhone 13, you don't just fully swipe up and reopen. You slowly pull up about 1/3rd of the way up the screen. You'll see everything open and then swipe each window up to truly close the app. Then, reopen dasher. You won't lose any information. It will come up at the right step. Also, yes, if you time out then it counts against acceptance rate.
I would never had taken an order for $7.75 for 10 miles.. you are losing money.. you just made doordash a profit and not yourself.. You should be investing in $2.00 per mile on orders or no lower that $1.50 per mile.. Don't let miserable customers who don't value you take advantage of you to deliver there orders.. NO tip no trip.. My god I felt very bad for you taking that order.. But keep up the good work and stay consistence ok? The Rookie Chef here... 💯💯💯
ah ha, you have the order sound bug too, thought it was my phone, it's the app, good fix for that, hit your volume button and it goes away, just discovered that after 1 year of doing this
I use to mess w orders & customer service. If you have trouble w phone 📱, CANCEL the order. Also, if you are running late, and you can not make it by the pick up time (within nine minutes)-traffic or delay, CANCEL. It will save you from these violations. Check the time. It isn’t worth the aggravation. I use to not want to cancel, but after waiting an hour at Primanti Brothers in my area-she kept telling me it would only be five minutes, instead of being honest because another dasher had taken the pizza 🍕. I won’t wait past 5-10 minutes (depending on pay). Not worth the time nor aggravation.

One thing I do when the app is acting weird is go into the app info and clear its storage cache then reopen the app and it fixes the issue. Happens pretty often but it does refresh the app. Hope this helps
The maps issues. Here’s what I do to try to prevent that issue. I’ve downloaded a few different map apps. That way, if the dasher app messes up like that. I take the address and put it in a different app to get there. The other issues I have no advice on. I’m sorry. Except to make sure your Wi-Fi is turned off. When the app messes up like this. I hate to say it, but I give up and go home at the first sight of issues. I’ll try again later in a few hours.
So I kept watching because I was praying you’d have a better experience each time. Kudos to you for sticking it out though. Many would have given up after the second twist. You have determination and a goal!!! Keep pushing toward it. God bless.
I always check the order if its 4.00 if its a stack I unassigned order before picking up order. DD will try you. Got to dash to make cash and not cents....
Reset or restart the phone. It will pick up where you left off. Make sure you also have an updated phone and nice g5 phone. I have a nice phone just for deliveries.
I did my first dash it was really good but progressively got worse. It was like let’s test her and see how low she will go. I went from a $23 order to a $2 order. I took like the first one of those just to keep my average up then they kept sending me those so after declining a few started to go back up to around $7.
When you’re having these type of phone issues I just try to take a screenshot of the address use your other navigation system and go to the address . Use your regular camera take a picture just in case you have any issued .
It's nothing wrong with your phone. When I'm in my door dash app and it sends me a order, it constantly makes a notification noise. I have to reboot it to stop the noise. You would have to turn off all notifications from Doordash in your settings. But then you would have to stare at your screen to see your order.
It is very disheartening when the app fails and there is nothing u can do. I had one that the app kept taking me to a completely different address in a different part of town. I had to finally call the customer and ask for landmarks and met him at the school up from his house. It took over an hour and it was pizza. So I am sure it was cold

You are freaking awesome . You do the best You can with what you are given . Then they penalize you for something out of your control . So with the customer getting cold food doordash probably lost money on that one to , the customer had to have called into and requested a refund. This comment is being written in June of 2024 . Meaty Mama have a suggestion for you. Don't get back into the car until you have accepted the next offer. You'll get a better signal on your phone if your outside of the car. I really think a lot of the problems arise from bad signal. We just get so caught up we forget to see the bars and that we have none. 🙂👍🎉
I think the phone had an update that you haven't downloaded yet and normally phones start acting up. That or the app which you did but after downloading or updating the app I usually restart my phone also. I even restart my phone right before I start dashing. Good luck and just know phones are like computers and there will be bad technology days.
The algorithm is extremely sensitive. If you show a willingness to take low pay orders that are far away or in a certain direction, you will be first in line to keep getting those. It’s so hard trying to get your AR up because of this and i had to take a lot of trash to get Top Dasher. Now I’m diligent at keeping my AR above 75% as much as possible and decline every order that goes south of me so DD won’t keep forcing me that way. Ending your dash and starting a new one can be helpful when the algorithm is sending nothing but garbage.

Food don't get cold if you put inside the hot bag ....almost all food just put in hot bag any hot bag even food don't need hot bag just still put on hot bag ...you never know what happen the wait

this is true. accepting good orders = getting good orders. You train the algorithm as to what you’ll take.

My son lives in Washington DC. He does Uber Eats exclusively. It pays more he said, and he has little overhead because he uses an electric bike

Yes, your AR goes down when you miss a delivery opportunity.
Otherwise, we would just miss them and never have to decline 😂
Best way to raise your AR is by using EBT (earn by time). Even to 2 dollar orders should pay a little better at least.

I have never had any of the issues your having with the app. The most it's ever done to me was not upload the delivery photos.

The miles...need to equal...the pay. Missing a delivery, does count against, your acceptance rate.
at least equal the miles. should be accepting only $2 per mi

If you force stop the app, sometimes that helps and if you aren't on a dash you can also clear cache or sign out

One thing I do when the app is acting weird is go into the app info and clear its storage cache then reopen the app and it fixes the issue. Happens pretty often but it does refresh the app. Hope this helps

Here’s what I do to try to prevent that issue. I’ve downloaded a few different map apps. That way, if the dasher app messes up like that. I take the address and put it in a different app to get there.

Except to make sure your Wi-Fi is turned off.
When the app messes up like this. I hate to say it, but I give up and go home at the first sight of issues. I’ll try again later in a few hours.

My app started doing that after an update for Android. If I pull the screen down to look at notifications it will get it to stop
I did that a couple of times yesterday wasn't getting any orders.

I always check the order if its 4.00 if its a stack I unassigned order before picking up order. DD will try you. Got to dash to make cash and not cents....
Reset or restart the phone. It will pick up where you left off. Make sure you also have an updated phone and nice g5 phone. I have a nice phone just for deliveries.
I did my first dash it was really good but progressively got worse. It was like let’s test her and see how low she will go. I went from a $23 order to a $2 order. I took like the first one of those just to keep my average up then they kept sending me those so after declining a few started to go back up to around $7.
Sorry this dash was a pain, but I love riding along with you.
When you’re having these type of phone issues I just try to take a screenshot of the address use your other navigation system and go to the address . Use your regular camera take a picture just in case you have any issued .
I’ve had two mama. It sucks. But neither were my fault and after so many deliveries it dropped off.

It's nothing wrong with your phone. When I'm in my door dash app and it sends me a order, it constantly makes a notification noise. I have to reboot it to stop the noise. You would have to turn off all notifications from Doordash in your settings. But then you would have to stare at your screen to see your order.

It is very disheartening when the app fails and there is nothing u can do. I had one that the app kept taking me to a completely different address in a different part of town. I had to finally call the customer and ask for landmarks and met him at the school up from his house. It took over an hour and it was pizza. So I am sure it was cold

I've had issues with the app and the map giving me stupid issues. Sometimes force closing the app works, but sometimes it really doesn't.

You are freaking awesome . You do the best You can with what you are given . Then they penalize you for something out of your control . So with the customer getting cold food doordash probably lost money on that one to , the customer had to have called into and requested a refund. This comment is being written in June of 2024 . Meaty Mama have a suggestion for you. Don't get back into the car until you have accepted the next offer. You'll get a better signal on your phone if your outside of the car. I really think a lot of the problems arise from bad signal. We just get so caught up we forget to see the bars and that we have none. 🙂👍🎉
I think the phone had an update that you haven't downloaded yet and normally phones start acting up. That or the app which you did but after downloading or updating the app I usually restart my phone also. I even restart my phone right before I start dashing. Good luck and just know phones are like computers and there will be bad technology days.

Your young and have alot of work to do. I'm turning 62 and hoping by 67 I can call it quits.
The algorithm is extremely sensitive. If you show a willingness to take low pay orders that are far away or in a certain direction, you will be first in line to keep getting those. It’s so hard trying to get your AR up because of this and i had to take a lot of trash to get Top Dasher. Now I’m diligent at keeping my AR above 75% as much as possible and decline every order that goes south of me so DD won’t keep forcing me that way. Ending your dash and starting a new one can be helpful when the algorithm is sending nothing but garbage.

When the app starts messing up restart your phone and it fixes the issues you're having with the DD app..
Food don't get cold if you put inside the hot bag ....almost all food just put in hot bag any hot bag even food don't need hot bag just still put on hot bag ...you never know what happen the wait
