I’ve been running this build and been absolutely loving it. I’ve swapped back and forth between “keen” and “blood” affinity and found I like the “blood” affinity better bc it procs bleed faster and the physical dmg difference between the two affinities isn’t much.

this weapon is perfect. The moveset can be imprecise sometimes but damn, i put bloodhound's step on them. I destroyed rellana with no skadu fragments and didnt let her go into phase 2. you can use a weapon with seppuku to trigger the mask and the talisman boost. The softcap for arcane is level 50 btw
Then you should know that the Rakshasha set of armor increases your damage by a certain percentage for each piece while also increasing damage taken. If you are good at either dodging or using either backhand blade ash of war to avoid damage you could easily shred things.
I've tried both keen and occult so for those wondering, occult has a higher physical damage. I have 80 in dex then swapped to 80 in arcane and with 1 press of r1 I did 1500 or so damage where as with keen it was 900 to 1000 ish. But bleed is the best one to go with in my personal opinion, I split the stats between arcane and dex and I still doing around 1400 but getting bleeds considerably fast but it kinda feels like cheeseing the bosses at this point 🤣
@kevnosity well currently I'm using scavengers cerved swords with poison and bleed but if your doing a normal bleed build I recommend going into dex more than arcane and using occult affinity but using blood works too just put more stats into arcane if you don't have the black wetblade
@kevnosity no worries, best advice is just have fun with it tho, play about with different weapon types and playstyles and just enjoy the game as frustrating as it can be 🤣
Black Knife armor muffles footsteps, and is useless when fighting bosses. Nox Swordstress Set does nothing extra. Use Rakshasa Armor as it it does increase damage taken but It increases damage dealt, so the dragoncrest greatshield talisman works perfectly.
yeah the recommended stats are probably the most optimal stats for the build for any player in general. The stats shown in the video change slightly since my starting classes were different or I would allocate points differently for some other reason. hope this clears any confusion :)

I literally just completed another bleed build for martial arts before seeing this... At least it looks like the only things I'm missing for this one are the backhand blades.
Is he gone from your game? If you kill him he drops the warrior's shard, a slightly weaker alternative to the Shard of Alexander. Also I am pretty sure you can't actually botch his questline, if you look up his locations you can probably go back and complete it anyway.
dont have sense to use alexander's talisman, the blind spot dont do a significant amount of damage, it's better to use the rotten wings talisman, it buffs a lot your dmg when sucessive attacks and u combo it with miliscent protesis

The fire component scales with Faith based on Incantation scaling, the bleed component is a static value that explicitly does not scale with Arcane. It also does not scale with Arcane if your Seal scales with Arcane (such as dragon communion seal). Arcane scales bleed values inherent on the weapon itself; if and only if that weapon scales with the Arcane stat. E.g. a blood infused weapon gains Arcane scaling and bleed, which means it scales. A bleed weapon that does not have Arcane scaling, e.g. Bloodhound Fang, does not benefit from Arcane. Incidentally the Bloodfound Fang's bleed can be improved with Bloodflame Blade, but it again has nothing to do with your Arcane stat.
If the dragonfight allows, use Torrent. It really makes these dragons easier. Also note that you can jump over quite a lot of attacks. And then remember that jumping is really easy with Torrent because you can double-jump. Hope that helps a bit with the dragons. Personally, I just stand in between the legs, and smack as hard as I can. Seldom gives me any serious trouble, and they absolutely bleed.

@@leonlee877 I do think that the bleed enhancement will goes up as well as your arcane, if there's no change in the stats, maybe try resetting the bleed enhancement at the blacksmith
@@leonlee877 A bleeding weapon that has arcane scaling, will increase its bleed value as your arcane goes up. This is dynamic, so anything that boosts arcane directly boosts your bleed value. Note that a bleeding weapon which does not have arcane scaling, will not increase its bleed value as your arcane goes up (this isn't relevant for Blood infused weapons, they all gain arcane scaling with the infusion, but it's useful if you ever switch weapons). You do not need to 'reset' at the blacksmith, and semi-permanent buffs (such as talismans that work as long as you equip them) and temporary buffs that boost stats (such as the grafted greatsword) immediately apply the Arcane boost to bleed values as well. Note that softcaps are a thing, the effect tapers off the higher you get. Important 'breakpoints' where you see diminished returns per point of arcane towards your bleed status, are 45 and 60. Only go to 80 if you have spare levels for some reason (I'm level 350 or something and I still don't have 'spare levels' :D). Also: this may make Arcane the best scaling value for your weapon, even if it is a 'lower letter' than your dex scaling. E.g. if dex is B but arcane is C, boosting dex gives you a slightly better increase in physical damage but a point in arcane gives you increased phyiscal damage and increased bleed value. Arguably that makes arcane the better stat to invest in even though it's "only C" in this example.
make sure your weapon is attuned to a physical-dmg-only option (keen, heavy, etc) or it will not work. e.g. you cannot use bloodflame blade on a weapon that is occult infused, blood infused, magic infused, etc
Ik im late but in case you (or anyone else) is still confused: blood loss buildup on a weapon scales with arcane. The higher your arcane, the higher your blood loss buildup. There's a pretty noticeable soft cap around 40 arc, meaning you will get diminishing returns on your blood loss build up after that point
Cool vid man I've been using the backhand blades since i found them. They are just too fun to use. I'm more less a quality build just so i can use strength and dex weapons if needed but really thinking about just focusing on dex. Going to maybe switch up my build next time i log on.

He does 38, because that's the min to proc the most optimal amount of blood loss build up.
try rakshasa armor set for huge damage boost. since we have an evade ash getting hit wont be a problem

Nope. I was in NG+ when the DLC dropped and every build I saw videos on required Shard of Alexander. It’s an annoying quest only at the end

My lvl 150 build has 45 dex and 45 arc for other bleed weapons will this split translate well for this weapon too?

I started at 168 and went up to 250 too many sick weapons and spells not to
I went to 215 personally. Bear in mind the entire DLC scales to your Rune Level. Only the Scadu Level is going to give you an edge

What do you do for enemies immune to bleed? Not sure how many there are, but i'm struggling to kill dragons. I dont do nearly enough damage to them.
Dragons are bleedable :) you can allways respec for quality build and use dragonkiller great katana
Change to Keen, then you can use an incantation or grease to add whatever element you want depending on what you are fighting

The bleed enhancement in your video has 115 blood loss while mine is only 92
Yeah my Arcane was at around 67 in the recorded footage. That might be why. I’m pretty sure you can get bleed to the high 120’s with 70+ Arcane

Why can’t I use blood flame blade? I have the requirements everytime I press up on the dpad is doesn’t do it??
You have to press LB with a Seal in your off hand

nah its still preety good whitout it. white mask only ads bleed prok dmg
white mask gives 10% attack power for 20 seconds when bleed procs somewhere around you (either on enemy or on you by seppuku)

You just select the Ash of war on it as it'll show up while selecting an Ash. Then pick your affinity

Gotta get the black whetblade, then go to the blacksmith or a grace, go to ash of wars, press the one you want to use then press bleed.
Black whetblade is at nights sacred ground in nokron, near where the fingerslayer blade is
