Lol, love your night shift tales. I worked 10 yrs as an RN in nursing facility. I saw ghosts a number of times within the building. We had people lurking outside which required a call to the local PD. Endured a small fire and a flood. Night shift is not for the weak!

Hi karrie we had a slider we hated it too so we had it removed & got a door in middle with panel sidelight windows on each side of the door we love it keep telling ur stories love to hear them i too am a nite owl been like that my whole life & love to giggle 🤣

I know how you feel, I was always a night owl and worked the night shift in a nursing home for about five years, and now, 30 years later, I really struggle to get to sleep. You go girl! I have never put up wallpaper but one time years ago, I put up contac paper in a bathroom to cover up the brightest orange flowery wallpaper ever. Looked better than before. I believe wallpaper is making it's comeback, maybe. Great job.

I definitely understand the night owl thing, I worked 10+ yrs as an EMT or nearly 10 years in the Emergency Room and almost every single shift was either 2nd or 3rd shift…I loved every minute of it except it was mandatory that one weekend a month everyone had to work the opposite shifts (UGH 😂) …The peel and stick wallpaper looks great! ❤

I did a peel and stick wallpaper for my backsplash also! I wanted to do something temporary until I decided what I wanted. I ended up getting a tile backsplash that was exactly the same as the wallpaper because I loved it so much! 😀❤

Your backsplash looks great! Caulk comes in handy for so many projects. Also, commenting on your schedule, I had a late night shift before I had my daughter and I also think I am a night owl because of it (hence why I am watching and commenting at 11:45pm CT lol). My husband is a HVAC contractor in CA and AR so we have to function on 2 different time zones and he is always on the clock. Luckily our daughter is a sleep in type of girl so we are able to catch up on sleep as needed.
I like that you are doing in expensive things for a quick look for now until you are ready to go the real deal until you're ready. I know people that will not do anything until they can have what they really want....that may never happen. lol 🙃 Enjoy!! I think it turned out nice!!

I love peel and stick wall paper! I have a mauve pink checkerboard design in my bathroom that was popular many years ago. Well I lived with it as long as I could! I purchased the heavy thick black marble vinyl peel and stick and covered all the pink! Love it still and it was done about five years ago. It has endless possibilities. Love your videos. You always make me smile!

I am a night owl and it is so hard to get up early, so now I’m retired and I’m in Heaven I get to sleep in most days unless I get to babysit my 2 grandchildren (9 and 7). Karrie, the Peel & Stick wallpaper looks so pretty! I put some on one wall in my kitchen a couple of years ago, and I loved it. It was a white brick pattern. People would have to touch it, because it looked so real! 😂 I made a mistake on one section, but I just stood my cutting boards in front of it! Nobody noticed! 😂 I love all of your videos, makeovers or whatever you share. I would love to hear your work stories! 😊❤

The “tile” looks awesome and really brightened the kitchen up! We have lived in 14 homes the first 25 years of our marriage and I will tell you that tile backsplashes in the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry areas are so easy to keep clean, other than grout and sealer (more marble and granite tiles) touch up every few years, there is no staining and when cleaning up cooking spatters, tile is the best. Love hearing about your previous work life, keep the stories coming!

Love the peel and stick , I’ve used it in my home several times ! It looks great in your kitchen ❤️
EZ Hang. Comes in a spray bottle for about $10. Spray the wall before you hang the peel n stick. Not only does it help it adhere better, but it gives it a little slip so that you can reposition it easier if need be. I have peel n stick subway tiles in my kitchen because when I moved in, there were 12x12 vinyl floor tiles on the backsplash! It's durable for sure, but so ugly. Removing them left this sticky residue... similar to those sticky mouse traps. The only way to add tile would be to cut out all of the drywall, and we weren't ready for that just yet soooo peel n stick it is. I added some under cabinet lights from Amazon they are battery-powered and really made a huge difference in the kitchen. You might try those as well.

Worked 12 hour night shifts for over a decade. Can verify, it does mess up the sleep cycle, per coworkers. However I've always been a night owl. Mom said she could here me awake and rustling around in the crib when I was an infant. I have clear memories of hiding a small radio inside my pillow case so I could listen to it at night while everyone else slept. Yes, that was before earbuds were a thing, no iPod, no mp3.. just am/fm radio. I even hid under covers and read by flashlight.

I never worked overnight. But I’m a night owl. The only time I wasn’t was when my kids were little and I had to get up with them. And when I had to be at work at 7:30 am. Then my shift switched to 11:30. I was late at that shift a few times. Never when I had to be there at 7:30. But I stay up until around 4:00 am and sleep as late as I can. I’ve never really been a morning person. I used to babysit for my grandson. I made him take naps with me. He’s thirteen now. And sometimes I think he still takes naps. If I had to work now, I would be perfect for the night shift. I love the wallpaper backsplash. I may have to go look at a Lowe’s near me. It might make my kitchen look better. I don’t have a backsplash. And I think that would look great in my kitchen.
Another hack might be sand your walls first so they are not textured and then clean them or get double sided tape or wood trim that you could paint to make it look like the same color

About 15 years ago, I was an RN working night shift in the NICU 7p-7a for 18 months. To this day, I have trouble going to bed before 12 or 1 o’clock at night and I sleep much better during the morning hours!🤷♀️

I used peel and stick on textured walls. I brought wallpaper paste and put it on wall and painted back of the self-stick let sit a few minutes and went over it lightly with hand and wallpaper plastic thing. I may try the wallpaper tile you brought. Love it.

'Hey Karrie, I love seeing your DYI's all the time! I actually need to go shopping for some new furniture for my bedroom because I need an upgrade for sure. I hope that the next time I go to a furniture store I can get some ideas for the types I'm looking for.
