This one takes me back. My first car was a 79 Nova 2 door. My dad got it new in 79 and took me with him to pick it up. When he passed he left it to me and I held onto it until my mom passed 7 years ago. I have had many cool cars, but I will always have a soft spot for these Novas...
My Dad bought a brand new ‘79 Nova Custom 2 door. I was 14 and hoped he give it to me when he wanted a new car. In April of ‘79 he traded it in on a 4 door Citation. 😞
That car could be converted to a sweet street car/ hit rod or you can leave it alone and have a dependable, clean, everyday driver. The 305's don't get the recognition they deserve..I got one in my 87 Monte Carlo SS that with ecm upgrade and a select few bolt ones that has left many 5.7 irocs and 5.0 gts crying in the 1/8 mile and after years of driving it hard still starts up instantly. A couple times ups and many water pumps later it's still awesome..Anyways good job Nick and thanks for sharing with us..God bless😊
Super straight car. If it was cheaper, I would totally buy it for nostalgic reasons. Had a 78, in blue, 383, posi, sub frame connectors, nice sleeper and a real monster on the street. Can’t tell you how many 5.0’s, irocs and GN’s routinely seen my taillights in the 80’s and early 90’s. 305 has to go tho.
A cam kit, intake and carburetor, headers, positraction rear and gears and this would be one hell of a sleeper. And a shift kit. And since I was cracking open the engine I would put all new gaskets and seals in the engine and transmission.
After watching all of the videos on your cars Nick i would say maybe in the top 5 things with your vehicles ,the most common thing is the blower motor i would think you would address this with who ever puts them on your lot, now a days most of who buys a vehicle they would sell quicker knowing the heater or AC works. I enjoy your videos and prices.😊
We just buy and sell them. We actually don’t work on them here on a lot. It would actually take a lot of resources to be able to fix everything on the amount of cars we get in. We’re going through about 60 a month so that number would probably be 10 a month if I had to fix everything. Thank you for watching.
When I see this car it must have been the 2nd owner that took out the stereo system, for the dual exhaust was from the 2nd owner and not the 1st. When the 2nd owner got this car it was in really good shape, for the paint was in good shape in order to keep as you see it, with some good things done to the paint as you see it today. For this lady may have left this car to him, after she died, for it may been her husbands dream car and that's why you see them today.
FR!!! At least have ONE car from 95 and back so that if your newer car doesn’t pass inspection you still have something to drive in the mean time, I’ve owned a total of 5 cars and none of them have needed to be inspected
Everything on a Camaro of that vintage can basically be put on it so you could hop it up or go big block or just clean it up , fix the things not working and have a nice driver.
very nice nova nick if thats the original engine it in super condition it aint going to take much to restore it all in all its very strait body and the wheels look on it
@@raymondtipton7243 Not in that shape. I used to have a body shop and still do it for myself. I'm working on putting some repair panels on my OBS Ford F-150 this weekend, so I know paint and bodywork. That Nova is a disaster underneath that shiny red paint in my opinion, and those small bubbles he was pointing out is rust forming from the back of the metal working it's way to the outside. I see a lot of filler and those hazy spots look to me like someone burned through the clear coat when they were color sanding and buffing. In one spot you can see where they burned through enough to get into the gray sealer or primer underneath the color coat. The headliner is falling down, and the package tray is stripped with no speakers or cover. The motor is caked with oil, and the rear differential is leaking. The frame has not been touched and is in original rusty condition. That car in my learned opinion is a polished turd.
If you're getting 12k for that I could probably get about 15k to 20k for my medalist. I've got 1 in perfect condition with only 40 thousand miles documented on it. I love these 75-78 Nova's
@@ithaddeus3494 When Pontiac came out with the 301 in 1977, I always thought that coincided with the 305. I stand corrected. My uncle had a '77 Impala with a 305..

Yep, it’s good to remember the first car you had

@@drippinglass Yeah I’m sure he would later regret that trade given the Citation’s track record
I didn't care much for the 79 year. I like the 75-78 models. They still had the round headlights. The 79 had square. Great card!

A Bicentennial Nova, Happy 4 of July Maple Motors 🎉
Some chrome Cragar SS wheels would dress that up much nicer.
This was what I had as my 1st car in 1986. Had the 350 bored over to a 400. Cabriolet gold top. Loved that car. Would love to have this.
Really nice old nova with some tlc that would be a perfect driver for not too much money.

If I didn't live in Florida I would buy it tomorrow damn

Glad to see it wasnt chopped up to be a race car as so many were. Not most sought after but a really nice platform to build something special.
Wow! Been wanting one of these for years! My family owned one when I was a kid. Been wanting one as an adult. It has to be a 76.
Tired of having to deal with a check engine light at inspection time? Heres your cure.

Cool car for the price! 👍👍
That's way you see the things that was left in the trunk today .Sorry if I did not add that.
This is a very sweet ride at a very good price!
Nice, but I'd only go $6 or $7 grand for it. You can tell that sometime in it's life it has had right rear quarter repair, looks good though.
That squeaking on the brakes was to let you know your pads were getting ready to replace.
Amazing, I have one of these and it came looking just like that from factory
Great car should be put in a museum ! Or in someone's garage !

11,9k? C'mon. On the upper end of shitbox
Unfortunately car designs crapped out in ‘73 as a result of the bumper mandate. This car is no exception.
Always look forward to your test drives & lot walks. Nice little Nova.
My first car was a maroon 76 nova! Mine was a 4 door with a 350!
Sounds good, not a bad ride

Granny sure took care of that Nova .
I owned one identical to this in the 80 s dependable as hell
Classic love it!😍
KEWL RIDE MAN....EASY RIDE TO MAKE IT YOURS...HAPPY 4TH MAPLE MOTORS , NICK AND FAMILY
Nice Nova. Wish I had the money.
That's a nice $3,500 car.

Oh the price cracks me up on this one.
Me too, maybe 3k dollar car
Nice little Nova Nick ! Good Price on it ! 😁✌
I really love that car wish I could get it
Clean little Nova. These years don't get much love. Great entry level cruiser!
That's because they're hideous 🤷♂️ The mid 70's sucked big time for looks and performance, not Detroit's finest work.
I had the identical car back in the day. Damn I wish I had the money!
Love these old Novas, was my drivers Ed car, nice shape for the money and a little money would make this a nice driver❤
Those 305’s are monsters. They could almost beat,
Almost all 4 cylinder’s like pinto, vega.
Just name a few!

Had 6 of this body style Nova. Fondness.
The most unloved Nova body style but they are niiiice
Most of these had a hatchback on them...I want a hatchback myself.
305 is matching numbers to what? Certainly not a '76.
'76 had a 305
