13:40 Plume, is the word you're looking for. 23:40 Personally I would use Bard as an example, they have a ton of unique quivers, and generally a good variety of generic quivers per expansion, and the quiver is more of a static piece like the aether converter. PCT is more in the ballpark of PLD where both pieces are their wielded weapon component. SAM is in the borderline spot with their Sheathe, it's a vital part of Iaijutsu, but on the other hand the blade's themselves for most SAM weapons are pretty conventional, Tsuba, Grip, Pommel, and Sheathe are fancy, the blade is usually just a blade. AST is the closest to MCH, but at least gets a little bit of Color change on the Holster, this would be the bare minimum MCH should be brought up to. Would really prefer AST/MCH to at least be brought up to BRD Quiver level for their static piece though. Keep some pretty generic ones for the more crafted/vendor weapons and maybe some of the more more traditional looking sets, but at least for the Primal/Raid weapons give something more noteworthy. And for AST cards, getting at least changing the color of the card backs an option would be nice as well.
SMN got me thinking if they gave them an "Astral/Umbral" stance where they can choose the summons. Like tank stance, but it would change Titan/Garuda/Ifrit for Shiva/Ramuh/Leviathan. They'd have identical moves that end up going to Phoenix/Bahamut but it would give the illusion of diversity. They could then add the rotation where after the first wave of Phoenix/Bahamut, they can toggle modes so it looks like they're going through all six main primals. It'd be entirely optional and just aesthetics unless they want to add some other gimmick.
I'm in love with my class's artifact gear (gnb/Mch)but also love that they are very similar in style that it can be imagine as a stance change. go from pew pew to edgy in your face slice and dice. LOVE IT! gonna make a transformation macro for these two sets.
One thing to be aware of for Pictomancer, there's a dagger on the middle back just above the tail spot for races with a tail and the tail CLIPS through the dagger. Just something to keep in mind.
Red Mage is actually a bit different than normal, it isn't as much frilly or a muskteer looking as normal, particularly with the jacket. Basically the most DMC looking it's ever been. That focus looks like it may reshape itself a bit being very floaty, so I reserve judgement.
Agree with this. It's definitely less "formal" looking. I wish they would show it on both genders though, they have a tendency to up the frill factor on the female outfit. I'm kinda digging this look though, it feels more casual and fun, like the RDM is entering their Errol Flynn phase.
@@mewimi no way, I am pretty sure there are more crowns/hairpins/barely visible headpieces in the game lol, and they all look the same, I can barely find any decent full helmets
@@Scionofgreyhaven I think you are thinking of all those ones that just have a simple color swap... remove those and you'll find that there are barely any lol.
the color difference on the Samurai is the Hamon line. the demarcation between the blade's edge that was hardened and the back of the sword that was not, to strengthen the blade.
I know you didn't seem to like the WAR so much but I just love love love I have the opportunity as a WAR main to finally wear one of the headpieces as a Viera! I know there are head pieces out there (sparse) but I really am so dearly excited.
As a samurai Main I hope that sooner or later they decide to give us something that vaguely resembles a real samurai armor and not the usual kimonos with some accessory
I need to see the DRG set on something other than lalafell to really know how I feel about it. My concern with the fin things (like the HW set has) is that the hands tend to clip through them, which bugs me. Probably won't use the helm, but I do want to see how the other pieces look on their own.
For MCH: we know about why it exists there for lore reasons BUT after meeting allagans, alien races extremely advanced, Loporrits and (maybe) even new ones in Dawntrail, there's no excuse to turn the aetherpack into either something smaller that can be glamoured alongside the weapon or completely remove it with a valid in-lore explanation. Like, just a small set of quests where we go meet the MCH guild, go talk to some of the races and then they come up with a miniaturized aetherpack that fits in WoL's pouch would be enough to completely explain why it won't be there anymore. On top of that, they could just change the animations to reflect that. Like, even if you don't get a new attack, you get a slightly modified animation where the character simply doesn't interact with the aetherpack.
Summoner's set looks like christmas the outfit to me, and I can't unsee it I love the guitar bow, and the catstaff and the reaper gear looks nice as heck
5:57 --- Love WHM. Its more in tune with the Gridanian padjali style, more like a sturdy druid's outfit, and less the pristine Whites of Amdapor... 19:11 --- Might also just be the lighting so wait and see. 21:30 --- Not a fan of the weapon. I like it when the bow has harp- and other musical elements on it, but this one... try the idle pose of Bard with weapon in hand and they will stab themselves through the chest -.- Its bad design is what it is. The idea may be neat and I like the color scheme... but its bad design. The overall armor looks cool though. 24:20 --- Its the same with the RDM focus thingy... Yoshi-P may have said "they are lunchboxes filled with love", but when I'm not happy with my lunchbox, I put stickers on it! 28:59 --- Isnt that Micote sporting a new hairstyle? Also, its clearly not a robe this time. The hanging pieces seem more like part of a cloak or scarf... 31:11 --- Also, Titan-Egi looks different... or upgraded... The sad part about job armor is, we dont have enough glam plates to use them :( With soon 21 jobs and only 20 plates, we have to once again use role armor sets. And that not even taking into acount the crafters and their glams... It doesnt matter which set I like most: I wont be able to use any of them longterm :(
Red Mage job gear is interesting. The sword is clearly an homage to Impact, and the Focus has 4 crystalos. 1 representing each type of magic red mage uses, Black and White magic, plus the type of magic the Mage transforms them into, Red magic...So what is the 4th crystal? New magic source for red mages to explore?
the thing with au ra and hood, is that au ra's horns have always just stuck out of whatever helm or hood and i never understood why au ra get that, but they cant just do the same with viera ears sticking out?
I really don't understand why people hate on the AST gear, many of the armor sets in XIV suffer from being really over designed and I appreciate the simplicity and sleekness of it.
I agree with you, but I feel like we could have this simplicity and sleekness with its identity still intact. This just looks like a robe/dress from a mid-level Heavensward dungeon that got scaled down a bit. To me anyway.
This is true. Many ( most? ) of the glams in this game are overdesigned. Especially in the collar area. I wish they'd tone down things and be a bit more elegant over flamboyant.
I'm a BRD main. And will 100% be glaming that to anything else. That bow just looks stupid to me. The rest of the BRD outfit though reminds me a lot of FFXV Ardyn. Not something I'm likely to wear but I do kind of like the look
The most interesting thing with these artefact sets for me is how they'll dye, because a lot of them feel so similar to old sets it's like they're just remastered versions for the graphics update, which has some merit since the textures are really amazing, but astro, bard, reaper, and dancer are the only ones that feel new and exciting to me. Seeing the weapons we get for pictomancer and viper will be cool. Since there's going to be an eden ultimate they'll definitely get E12S weapons (since they model them as bases for the ultimate versions) and those should be stunning, and deep dungeon weapons should also be guaranteed because of the way that's structured, so I'll probably be taking a trip to heaven on high.
So with regards to the aetherotransformers that Machinists have, the customization they have is if the gun is dyable. Whatever you dye the gun, you dye the silver portion of the box. In some cases, this works great, as you'll match the base metals of the weapon and box. In others, say weapons where you customize the glow, any color that works great for the glow is often gaudy on the box at best. Hopefully two dye channels help with this, but honestly, a few new styles of aetherotransformers, either coming with the gun as part of the package, or a set that can be glamored separately from the gun would be very welcome.
For me as I main WAR I personally love the design, but not too much a fan of the helm piece. At the same time I see how it fits better so all races can wear it without any issues as its probably why they chose a Viera to showcase the set.
For me, mainly playing DNC, i liked BLM, GNB and PCT the most. I'm not sure what to make of the DNC set yet, since i'd have to see the female version first. The cat staff is just so cool, not sold on the robe, but there are other options for that, but the staff and hat are just great.
The reaper weapon looks like something you get after slaying Nargacuga from Monster Hunter. And I am a fan! And for the machinist, I could see if they wanted to add it similar to what Paladin Have of putting the Aetherpack as a off hand thing. Add it as a package/blueprint similar to what Paladins now get instead of individual stuff.
I'm OBSESSED with Pictomancer's set! I think the skill showcase and the artifact gear have convinced me to try leveling it as my main DPS this expansion ❤
Bard's jacket reminds me of my great grandfather's military uniform honestly. He was a Korean War veteran and I still have his uniform safely tucked away. Never wore it either since it'd feel wrong to
BRD gear makes me remember the attire that Stevie Ray Vaughan would wear on his shows, like a blues musician with flamboyant attire shredding the guitar with epic solos and melodies.
As a SCH main, I'm not really the biggest fan of the outfit. I much preferred the direction they went with the Endwalker AF for SCH, which had a felt looking texture when dyed. Plus it felt more like a commanders outfit.
I believe this drk weapon is a upgrade version of shb which is my favorite greatsword so far. About sam it looks like it didnt change from ew to dt, if the katana is masamune i do a sephiroth glamour, im fine if its also called Yoshiyuki. Now brd mains can play as demyx and do your "dance water dance". Rdm is looking cool but its in my doubt to compete with sb version
I wish they branched put more with the designs for artifact gear, especially for older jobs, they don't look bad but they look very samey to me. Like we're going to this tropical area, vs the zones in EW or ShB but the gear for a lot of these don't lean into that, that for a lot of these, if you showed someone new all the sets and asked them to guess which expansion it was from, they couldn't tell. I feel like the sets should scream the setting or callbacks core to the expansion they're from more.
As a whole, I love Scholar, Sage, and Reaper. I love Summoner's top. The half poncho with the scarf is a good vibe for Dawn Trail. Love the Black Mages cat staff! Of course, Viper and Picto look great. There will definitely be some Bob Ross's running amok. Everything else is good, but I feel indifferent on.
a blue blade contrasts better with red armor, thats why its blue and not black. the thing with etherpack should be very easy to solve, because everyone who uses plugins knows that u can make it invisible with one click.
The only thing I really liked about the GNB set was the fade. Especially if the faded shading can be altered with color changes. Can't really see what the blade looks like though. They really could have used a better image to showcase it in my honest opinion. The Sage and Dragoon sets look a bit too much like the past set, sadly. Not really distinguishable between past sets.
As a DRG/GNB main I absolutely adore their sets, Dragoon in particular is literal perfection IMO As a soon-to-be VPR main, I like it but I think I'll be rocking mostly Cryptlurker I must also add that while I'm not wow'd by it, AST set looks sooo comfy and I want this IRL
Taking the Bard class more in the direction of Chrono Cross's Radical Dreamers and Nikki character i.e. just going for classic rock looks is unexpected but great.
The sam blade looks just lika a ffxi sam blade called onimaru, it probaly like a tribute to that one. About mch , why can we use the ether pack as a back pack or something like that and wear the gun un the side.
Bard is basically just a Steven Tyler cosplay and I'm all for it. Ridiculous and over-the-top, and it rules. Super excited for the Dragoon gear, looks like a mashup of the ARR and Heavensward sets; both of which I love.
The first time I saw the Summoner set, I wasn't crazy about it but it's growing on me. Meoni saying it was a mountain outfit made me reevaluate my opinion. It does look like it fit in that setting. The book looks neat too.
i like that the chest piece for rdm is more like a duster coat rather than a doublet. hope this means the style will lean away from the flower duelist (or at least give us a choice)
I can kinda see it, though I hope the cowboy area's dungeon (if there is a dungeon there) gets a duster coat for Machinist. Been playing a ton of Fallout lately and that game has made me fall in love with those coats
@@chelsthegameruiner8669 agreed, i would like that as well. realistically id love it if it was an all classes mog. i want to see more neutral armour/glamour espically "armour" that healers/casters can wear. the pvp series awards is a start but would like to see more

Why can't we get a badass full helmet for the Paladin like the DRK one but holy instead of boring crowns everytime
Because Cecil.
Because Paladin AF gear has never featured helmets
There are so many full helmets in this game already lol... way more than any other type of headgear ;[
I wish Glowing affects from artifact weapons could be dyed or changed out for prior artifact weapons particle effects
Was not expecting Bard to be the one with my favorite Getup this time around. =O
I love how the dragoon gear looks like an evolution of the ARR dragoon gear
I can see bits of ARR, HW, and SB dragoon sets and I love it
This is Drachen 2.0 and I mean this in the best way possible
The Bard gear is just a bohemian rocker. I LOVE IT.
Black Mage, that whole outfit is an instant classic! 10/10, nailed it.
the color difference on the Samurai is the Hamon line. the demarcation between the blade's edge that was hardened and the back of the sword that was not, to strengthen the blade.
RDM gear looks sick, I'm looking forward to this expansion.
So, I noticed something on the dancer artifact gear.
the Viera had visible painted toes....
are they actually going to give us proper toes? :O
Yes, and better hands as well
It would sure be so nice if 5 years after hrothgar and viera dropped we could just KNOW that everything was wearable.
5 YEARS!
The lvl 70 tomestone gear is pretty much that
cant tell the difference between a shuriken (literal star shaped) and a kunai, which is essentially a short dagger with the spinning ring on pommel.
I never understood why Gunbreaker can’t have a jacket AND trousers like SeeD uniform.
Summoner's set looks like christmas the outfit to me, and I can't unsee it
I love the guitar bow, and the catstaff and the reaper gear looks nice as heck
WOL is left-handed confirmed
The frill/hair on a helm is called a plume 🐻
I really don't understand why people hate on the AST gear, many of the armor sets in XIV suffer from being really over designed and I appreciate the simplicity and sleekness of it.
I agree with you, but I feel like we could have this simplicity and sleekness with its identity still intact. This just looks like a robe/dress from a mid-level Heavensward dungeon that got scaled down a bit. To me anyway.
This is true. Many ( most? ) of the glams in this game are overdesigned. Especially in the collar area. I wish they'd tone down things and be a bit more elegant over flamboyant.
the part of the bell that makes the sound is called the clapper
10:20 T°T I want that hat so bad for my astro glam. But it won't be for viera. I just know it
GODDANGIT I can't unsee that Little Nicky reference
You are really churning out these useful videos. Good for me being a returning player. I've had my Baldur's Gate 3 fix...for now.
Reaper looks like Meteion cosplay.
So excited for pictomancer and I'm gonna happily continue maining as a astrologian
For me as I main WAR I personally love the design, but not too much a fan of the helm piece. At the same time I see how it fits better so all races can wear it without any issues as its probably why they chose a Viera to showcase the set.
I think dancer’s set is literally the best
I really hope the fem version just has a bandeau for the bust and is otherwise the same, this looks so good
my mouth dropped open when I saw the bard set. I'm glad you liked it too, Meoni!
What i get from the gear preview is that they have velvet tech now
For me, mainly playing DNC, i liked BLM, GNB and PCT the most.
Also, For the RPR, it really makes me think of Lulu in a way with the belting (from FFX)
The Black Mage outfit is fantastic. Love the cat!
6:15 it's called a clapper. But "thing that makes the bell go ding-dong" is also correct imho
I'd be shocked if the Dragoon set wasn't inspired from Kain in FF4. His helmet also had long blonde fake hair and the entire set was also purple.
As a DRG/GNB main I absolutely adore their sets, Dragoon in particular is literal perfection IMO
As a soon-to-be VPR main, I like it but I think I'll be rocking mostly Cryptlurker
I must also add that while I'm not wow'd by it, AST set looks sooo comfy and I want this IRL
The Paladin artifact sets always look so cool
anyone know where to get these after the job quest is done?
Taking the Bard class more in the direction of Chrono Cross's Radical Dreamers and Nikki character i.e. just going for classic rock looks is unexpected but great.
The Sam sword is perfect. A nice bright steel to show off the hamon line and an ornate guard and pommel. The only meh thing is the head piece.
The sam blade looks just lika a ffxi sam blade called onimaru, it probaly like a tribute to that one. About mch , why can we use the ether pack as a back pack or something like that and wear the gun un the side.
It flies right up my nose when I can't see the gear for the pose and as a warrior main, my nose is flown.
The reaper one is gorgeous, the bard weapon is insanely cool. I like the velvet astromancer dress, quite simple but effective. The rest is ok.
i like that the chest piece for rdm is more like a duster coat rather than a doublet. hope this means the style will lean away from the flower duelist (or at least give us a choice)
