I've seen him live. 100% the best vocalist i have ever seen. His stage presence is incredible and he is on stage for 2.5 to 3 hours. Once in a lifetime vocalist. Also, this is one of the best reviews i have seen of Dimash. Keep reviewing him !

I have had the honor and privilege of meeting Dimash in New York City on more than one occasion. He is humble and a superstar! He congratulated both my fiancé and I which were now married in person when he heard we were engaged and we were Dears those are his followers he was ecstatic the two of his dears came together. Nevertheless, with regards to his pronunciation if you look at his latter work of SOS like the Slavic bazaar and most recently in 2021 singing SOS you’ll see that he evolved to perfection with regards to pronunciation. I have seen his English in other languages evolve please keep in mind when he started singing sos He starting at a younger age and what you’re seeing here in 2017 is just an evolution you must see sinful passion, Olimpico, ikainaide what was she singing in Russian, Italian, and Japanese. Also he sang the diva dance which as you know was computerize with half human half computer he sings it live he is known as an alien or an angel. Must watch Ave Maria which was composed by Eagle Kotori. So much to recommend. Great analysis with the exception of the constructive criticism on the language . Please check out his leader renditions of SOS Slavic processor and do a reaction and you’ll see his perfection on the language and evolution in his voice. Cheers and good luck to you!

I was in Cannes in 2018, private party, in 1m of him singing "All by myself". I talked to him ans his family. He's so human, by the honorable way. I feel so grateful for it.
When he was 5years old, the teacher told his grandmother that he had absolute pitch...he had informed them the piano was out of tune! Amazing little boy. No doubt he’s doing what he was born to do. God’s Gift!

Saludos de una dear desde Chile, has escuchado solo la punta del iceberg que es Dimash, es difícil recomendarte solo una canción, pues cualquiera te sorprenderá, es un cantante muy versátil tanto en su rango vocal, como en lo que canta, ya que en un momento puedes escucharlo con un canto lirico y al otro se va al rap, toca varios instrumentos, es compositor, letrista, arreglista, y director de varias de sus canciones. Welcome! Who is Dimash Qudaibergen?
Dimash is born in 1994, May 24, height: 1.91m; 6'3 '. He has been training in music since he was 5 years old. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. Dimash also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has recently completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition. He graduated with honors’, having achieved a perfect pitch. He has composed 12 of his own songs so far and is currently working on his doctorate. We have to call him soon Doctor Dimash Qudaibergen. 😃
Dimash plays at least 7 instruments, traditional dombra is a must in his family. He speaks Kazakh (mother tongue) and Russian (without accent, second language in Kazakhstan), is learning English and Mandarin (dancing and Mandarin are difficult for him). So far, he sings in 13 languages. He trains his voice for 3 hours every day, has a perfect pitch.
Experts consider Dimash a lyrical baritone with a typically long range. Some believe that he sings his high notes not as a countertenor, but as a natural soprano. He is the first singer to sing all 5 voices: bass, baritone, tenor, contralto, soprano.

It's no coincidence that there are so many of his fans in the world and a huge army of fans - everyone falls under it! And welcome to the "World of Dimash"! Or maybe the whole secret is that Dimash LIVES in the song being performed? Because he sings every song as his own? After all, listening to Dimash and not even knowing the language in which the song is written, you can understand by his emotions radiated into the hall whether it is about love or grief, happiness or tragedy. A dear friend gave me the ticket and the stay as a gift. So I went crazy and bought the round-trip plane ticket in installments. He is considered to be the best vocalist in the world and a master performer. He sings in 12 languages and plays many instruments. He is an exceptional singer and excels in martial arts. His mother is a world-class opera singer, and his father is also a well-known singer. He was raised by his grandparents, which is customary in his home country of Kazakhstan. You’ve seen nothing yet, he is only warming up with this song. Dimash has a 7/8 octave range, his highest note so far is a D8, he sings in 15 languages and plays multiple instruments. He is THE loveliest young man on this planet and he adores and respects his Dears, us fans. Il l'a interprétée de multiples fois et à chaque fois, de manière magistrale (sa dernière version Digital Concert est époustouflante). Vous avez mentionné Grégory Lemarchal: Dimash a raconté que c'est après l'avoir entendu chanter cette chanson qu'il avait voulu l'interpréter. Concernant votre souhait de le voir en concert, il en donne un à Düsseldorf en avril et un à Prague un petit peu après. C'est un génie absolu, il n'y a de comparaison possible avec aucun autre chanteur. Au-delà de son extraordinaire agilité vocale, il a une capacité hors norme à communiquer des émotions avec l'audience. I wish I could afford the airfare. You sound as if you know him personally with your comments so true. He has perfect pitch and hearing.

The greatest voice on the planet belongs to Dimash. He is the only singer to ever give me goosebumps with his magnificent voice & tone. He is all about music & plays quite a lot of instruments. I heard the original singer of this song Daniel B and other singers that cover the song. They are all good but Dimash added his own melody that it wasn't in the original and it sound really, really good. He is not only singing but he is telling story that make you feel without understanding the words. Great reactions from you, thanks from USA
SOS was a favorite of mine for close to 30 years and then I heard DIMASH do it and all the other singers I have heard perform this song "melted" away from my memory. You are correct he now owns this song as if it was written for him only. I listen to him daily for 5 yrs, since first hearing him.

Here is some information about Dimash, some of which you have already researched yourself. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, but more specifically, he is a native Kazakh. Kazakhs are a separate indigenous people from regular Kazakhstanis. They are the original Nomad tribes from the steppes; some still live as nomadic people. Dimash is a direct descendant and lives traditionally with his extended family, and they keep all the cultural traditions. It is custom that the firstborn son of a family is given to a set of grandparents to raise for at least 10 years. Dimash was entrusted to his paternal grandparents, and they raised him to be highly confident in himself. They raised him to believe that God had a great plan for him, and he should pursue it and dedicate himself to that plan with his entire being.
When he was age 5, he informed his grandmother that her piano was out of tune, and they knew immediately what that plan was. His grandparents decided to enroll him in the best children's music school, and thanks to Dimash's parents relative fame, he was accepted. They were poor but determined to give him the best. There was no room for slack, and Dimash had a personality that would dedicate himself entirely to his craft. We are now seeing the results of everything that happened in his family and in his own self-determination and confidence instilled in him.
There he started singing and piano lessons at the age of five and was found to have perfect pitch. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/Opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical master's class and has recently completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition; his thesis was titled: "Personal Image of Traditional Music." He graduated with Honours, achieving a perfect score of 100%. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. as he wants to teach music after his singing career.
Dimash has diligently honed his craft and developed his God-given gift for more than 20 years now, and it shows. I read somewhere that Dimash used to swim 3 hours every day to increase his lung capacity. It's not just raw natural talent but tremendous work, dedication, and discipline to achieve this level of performance. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a much-loved national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He was even offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path, and he has been very successful thus far.
He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin, which he says is a challenging language to learn. Dimash also plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums. He usually performs for more than two hours during his live concerts and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles.
According to some analysts, his range is over 7 octaves (A1-D8), spanning across all four registers. As many probably know, the four registers, from lowest to highest, are vocal fry (pulse), modal voice, falsetto, and flageolet (whistle tone), and Dimash seems to effortlessly navigate between them, often within a single breath and without a break in between. Dimash has even hit a D8 for ~5 seconds with vibrato, the highest note ever performed during any live performance. He sings in multiple musical genres. His primary genre is classical crossover, but he also sings classical music (bel canto), pop, and world music. He uses musical elements, vocal styles, and techniques of many other genres, including jazz, rock (e.g., screams), RnB, musical theater, even rap, and Tribal and Middle Eastern styles.
I am looking forward to your subsequent reaction. Beware, some Dimash fans can be almost cultic to the point of fanaticism, and they get outright defensive and combative over any perceived criticism of their "object of worship." Quite sad because I am sure that Dimash himself would handle criticism with much more grace and kindness. They would fare well to keep in mind that Dimash is just a man, not God. I admire good music and talent, regardless of genre, and do not count myself among the Dimash fanatics, but I am utterly amazed by him.
You've seen/heard nothing yet. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Maybe you can go to the Dubai concert in March. Indeed, his French is not the best pronounciation, but you just forget about it because he is performing and emoting it so brilliantly. I still don't understand why he didn't get better guidance with that. Dimash started at age 5 and is currently still practicing 3 hours every day. He has been encouraged and supported hugely, and he told several times that he does everything to not disapoint or embarress them. He has an incredible personality.
If you keep going on this Dimash journey, you're going to get lots of surprises. He sang in 13 languages, is a multi instrumentalist, a fashion model, a director, composer and a charity worker. He sings opera, folk, soul, rock, pop, he raps...currently he has a vocal range of more than 7 octaves. He hits a D8, completely off the piano.
In a later performance Dimash sung the words WITHOUT sounding the S. He has also been studying Mandarin and English and he keeps getting better with those languages. 🎶👱♀️👗👠👠💓 The people they show there are mainly the other contestants and the hosts of the show. The 500 member audience were the judges in each episode of the 14 week and episode competition. The other competitors were all professionals and Dimash was invited as an unknown wildcard.

It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him.
Some info about Dimash. He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe and onley 2 strings! He also sings in about 13 languages and speaks 3 so far (Kazakh,Russian and English).
Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD.
He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500.
Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night.
Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to.

The best moment in this show was just after Dimash started thanking everyone and saw his father there. He didn’t know he was there. Just after they got out of that room Dimash turns to his father and asks if he did good! Gloria Wu's channel has the back-story about the song that is so sad and from a life story about a boy losing his parents in an awful way. Also you get to hear how Dimash sounds like then loosing his voice the day of the show!!! When he went on he didn’t know if he could sing. Looking close at the other contestants they where so worried about him. He lost his voice again after. Li Jian another contestant bought him a very very expensive Chinese medication for him so he could get better soon!

If I remember correct he wrote the music to this one when he was 19 years old and lyrics by Oral-kosai Baisengir, who was a poet/lyricist father of a friend of Dimash. Also in this show another contestant "Terry Lin" that was about 51 years young here he considered Dimash a dear friend at this point. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 9 I think!! That is a big respect and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladly accepting it. They are still that close and also invites each other to there concerts and sometimes singing this song in duet to. They sang it in Jackie Chang movie festival in 2019 and Jackie was choked in how good they were. Terry was known as an alien before Dimash and they have similar vocals to.

Those were not his parents, those were his competitors. Dimash only speaks Kazakh, Russian, and English. He sings in several languages. Dimash has perfect pitch. Personnellement je suis de la génération de Balavoine et je n'avais jamais écouté Gregory. J'ai réparé ça depuis et je dirais que Dimash a emprunté la voie qu'avait tracé ce jeune homme.
Pour le contexte, cette prestation s'est déroulée en 2017, au cours de l'émission "I'am a singer". Elle a duré 3.5mois. Il était en quelquesorte un invité concourant parmi d'autres chanteurs tous chinois, tous plus âgés et professionnels confirmés. Dimash avait déjà, une petite notoriété dans son pays et quelques autres alentours, mais absolument pas au-delà de cette région du monde (il est kazakh). Je ne sais pas exactement le déroulé des évènements qui l'ont conduit à être l'invité étranger de cette émission, mais toujours est-il qu'il s'est retrouvé là, en Chine, devant un public potentiel de presque 1 milliard de personnes. Ce jour-là, il a été tiré au sort pour chanter le premier.
C'est une place qui n'est pas enviable dit-on. Et les erreurs de texte que vous avez remarqué (et qui ne se reproduiront plus ensuite) sont à mon sens le seul reflet visible de son stress. Dimash est quelqu'un de confiant, très confiant et très , très à l'aise sur scène et avec les gens en général.
Mais ce jour là, la conscience de l'enjeu, non seulement pour lui-même, pour sa carrière, mais aussi en tant que représentant de son pays (bien-aimé il faut le dire, Dimash est extrèmement fier d'être kazakh et responsable de sa culture) l'a presque écrasé. Dimash est rarement stréssé sur scène, par contre il est toujours extrèmement concentré.
Et bien, je dirais que ce jour là, tout concentré qu'il était, il a un peu "buggé" sur les paroles à cause du stress justement.
Mais voilà, le public chinois de l'émission (500 juges) ne parle pas français, et ont été totalement sous le charme (comme nous tous) et l'ont déclaré vainqueur de cette manche. La télé a retransmis l'émission et internet a été saturé (!?) à ce qu'on m'a dit : 650 millions de like!
A partir de ce jour, Dimash est devenu très populaire et très aimé en Chine, avec un public qui n'a fait que grossir et s'étendre au monde entier.
Mais comme vous savez la Chine et l'occident ne connecte pas et leur marché musical sont scindés. Aussi c'est grâce à des vidéos partagées sur TH-cam que très vite il a conquis un public mondial. C'est donc essentiellement sur internet que le monde occidental peut le découvrir, alors même qu'il a fait une tournée , dont un passage à New York en 2019. Le marché de la musique occidentale ne sait pas que faire avec lui car il ne veut signer avec aucun label, ou autre truc de ce genre. Dimash structure sa carrière uniquement avec des gens en qui il peut avoir confiance.
Je pourrais vous parler pendant des heures mais j'en laisse pour une prochaine fois..... voyez sa dernière interprétation de SOS dans le Digital show de janvier 2021. Très émouvante aussi, surtout quand on sait qu'il l'a fait en hommage à son ami, patineur kazakh renommé Denis Ten, qui avait performé sur la glace avec cette chanson et qui est décédé subitement. Il y a donc un peu plus de tristesse, de chagrin dans celle çi.

Ce que vous avez dit à propos de l'importance de ......l'amour et le soutien aux enfants, me fait dire que Dimash est fait pour vous.....à partager avec des millions d'autres. Dimash a grandit dans l'amour, la confiance, la sagesse d'une famille forte et confiante en sa culture. Et il a pu réaliser son rêve d'enfant, être sur une scène, honorer la musique et ses auditeurs. J'avais vu une vidéo qui expliquait son apparition à I'm singer, ils expliquaient que le président chinois (ou un autre gars très important je ne sais plus) avait été en voyage officiel au Kazakhstan et que Dimash avait chanté. Il avait été tellement impressionné qu'il l'a invité à venir participer (si je me rappelle bien). Il aurait dû gagner l'émission mais une règle imposait que ce soit un chinois qui gagne, pour les années suivantes ils ont annulé cette règle haha
@@hellyndra I've seen no evidence that Dimash was prevented from winning Singer by a Chinese-only rule. However, I have watched the show, and it seems to me the reason he lost the final was that on the day, he made a bad song choice, and his performance wasn't as good as that of the winner, Sandy Lam. That's just the way competitions go; if you want to win, you have to turn up with the goods and run the race. Dimash turned up with a Michael Jackson medley, which was not a good idea. Firstly, one of his great strengths is his story-telling; so why sing a medley? Secondly, even black American soul / RnB singers raised on Gospel and breast-fed by Aretha Franklin struggle to sing MJ convincingly, and therefore tend not to try. It's not the notes that scare them off, it's the MJ idiom, which is as uniquely peculiar as he was. No amount of vocal technique could save Dimash's performance, which was excruciating. Sandy Lam, is an excellent and very experienced vocalist. She chose a great song, she performed it perfectly, and she deserved to win. It is disrespectful to her, and to the very high musical and production standards of Singer to suggest otherwise.
Was Dimash the more talented singer? He is in a class of his own, so yes, probably. But he's also human, he's fallible, he makes mistakes - just like everyone else. He was young, inexperienced, and learning on a big stage. He didn't win on the day, and that is completely fine. There is no need to make excuses, whinge about the rules, or throw shade at other artists. Dimash himself is better than that, so there is no need for some of the Dears to do it for him. The job of any singer, or instrumentalist - doesn't matter how big a star they are - is to serve the music. Dimash knows that, so if his fans want to honour him, they should do the same.
Dimash has not revisited MJ since 2017, which suggests he learnt a valuable lesson about authenticity. Respect to him for that.

Sa technique est parfaite et il semble qu'il n'y ait pas de limite à ce qu'il peut faire avec cette voix exceptionnelle. Gr8 response and hve subscribed. In this performance Dimash was 22 I think. He'll be 28 this may (2022). At the age of 3 , Dimash was seen by a singing teacher from a Prestitious music school ( which he attended at 5yrs old and was seen as a very talented and serious student) at 3 he was already pitch perfect, and continued to be so. He was offered a place in his countries opera house but he didnt take it, because he wanted to be free to explore and experiment. He sings in all genres and often blends a variety into his compositions. Dimash is highly qualified with degrees in most genres , he is studying his doctorate currently . He plays 7 instruments, sings in 13 languages, speaks 4 or 5. U will in due course see a pianist and composer called Igor Krutoy, he came out of retirement to work with Dimash. Dimash himself is a composer of music and lyrics. If he is singing it, he is involved in all aspects of performance. It was he who made the arrangement for his sos performance. It is team work, but he comes with the ideas works with his team then decides what will be. In this competition the singer, made up of well established singers, he was invited to join as the only foreigner to take part, with no Chinese or English still insisted that he wanted to change the arrangement the organisers had created for him. ( The audience were the judges of who went thru each week as they were all involved in music making in some way)
Dimash was new to China and other countries, but in his own, Russia and other countries he was well known and winner of many prestigious competions both singing and instrumental. He has in this last two years been invited to join the judging team on at least two big competitions.

Je suis une ''Dear'' de Dimash. J'écoute les réacteurs, je lis les nouvelles sur Dimash, tous les jours. J'ai 67 ans et suis Canadienne. Dimash chante en 15 langues, mais ne parle pas 15 langues. Il est entré à l'école de musique à 5 ans, mais sur 1 vidéo (faite par son père) il joue, au piano de son père, avec 1 doigt, une mélodie de Mozart !!! Son père s'est dit : What ??? et il lui a demandé de touché une telle note et Dimash a, sans hésiter, mis son doigt sur la bonne note ! Alors, son père lui a demandé ce qu'il voulait faire, plus tard, dans la vie. Et Dimash a répondu : Chanteur !! Il ne fume pas, ne boit pas de boisson, il ne dort que 3 hres par nuit, il fait des vocalises la nuit (ce qui réveille sa grand-mère ! ) et plus encore. Sa plus haute note est D8, qui n'est pas sur aucun piano ! Ecoutez-le plus et plus de réactions. Il ne veut pas que l'on parle de son '' range ''. This was in 2017 The Singer competition for professional singers in China. He was 22 yrs old and was invited as a wild card and was not expected to make it for more than one or two weeks. He was then scheduled to sing as the very first performer in the very first episode of the season to 1 billion people live. Dimash was so nervous he was shaking right before he stepped in front of the audience. He blew away the audience of 500 judges and became a superstar in China overnight. He had been singing this song for years and knew the correct pronunciation but his nerves got to him this one time. He sings it at every concert so if you go to one of his upcoming concerts, you will hear him sing it live. The closest concert will be March 25 in Dubai at the Coca-Cola arena. There are three more scheduled but don't know if the dates are firm. Check Dimash's Instagram or Facebook for current information on the firm concert schedule.

Great reaction! You are right he has absolute hearing and perfect pitch. Every performance of SOS is slightly different and it’s a must in every concert. His French has improved a lot. If you watch his latest from his digital show 2021 you’ll see his low tones are much lower making the range ever bigger. He is indeed a great performer putting 100% in each song with deep feelings. He is very hard worker and constantly improving and he does his own arrangements. He is a multi instrumentalist too. Great artist! I recommend SINFUL PASSION next. The only one who can outdo Dimash is Dimash himself. And if you are already blown away by a video then to see him live in concert will catapult you into other spheres. That’s what happened to me at his concert in Riga. It was a lifetime experience and I have never been at any other concert in 50 years which could be compared. My first song of him was sinful passion and I fell in love with his voice, my second song was this version of SOS and I fell in love with him. 😁
I was at Riga too, I was worried the concert would be cancelled through covid. But we just squeezed it in before lockdown in U.K. watching Dimash every day through our lockdowns, made it all bearable. My daughter has just moved to Dubai to work, and has surprised me with tickets for his first concert since the pandemic. I’m soooo excited. Hope you get to see Dimash live again. (Christine:)

I am 72 years young, and Dimash is the best singer/entertainer I have ever heard/seen! I saw him in NY in 2019. It was an absolutely amazing concert. Dimash never sings a song the same way...he always gives us some kind of change. He sings multiple genres and each one is fantastical! He was relatively unknown at the time. The competition was for established Chinese singers. I believe this was the first show of the season and he was the first contestant.

He grew up in a family of musicians. Both parents are singing stars in his country. He learned an instrument from his granddad when he was young. He composed own songs in elementary school already. Later he studied classic and contemporary singing as well as composing and learned to play some instruments. What an artist.
Dimash SOS 2021, if you haven't already, I think you would like that performance a lot. His French is much more conversational and feels more natural. On top of that, it's just cool.

This was a historic moment and this is the song of the songs for Dimash and us, his Dears (This is what Dimash calls us fans.) This song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight.
In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old) and the first non-Chinese. Foreign participants were actually forbidden until then. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
Despite Dimash's planned brief presence, his name was intended to be symbolic and understandable to the public. Dimash was given the Chinese name Dimashi and the 3 syllables were assigned Chinese hydroglyphs: Di - achievement Ma - precious stone Shi - dream, wish.
This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to TH-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won).

There is an understanding of music before Dimash, and after. It’s the ride of a lifetime, plus he’s gotten MUCH better. You easily have to listen to 20 of his songs before you truly get a feel for all his talent. He can sing in any genre, in any style. You might wish to compare to his newest SOS 2021 from his digital show last year during quarantine. He rarely sings songs exactly the same & in it he is more raw intimate & vulnerable. Also his French pronunciation is much improved & it’s just something to see his overall chameleon nature one to the other 🙏

It wasn't his parents, it was other contestants and organizers. It was his first appearance in this competition as a wildcard in China. His opponents were all established singers and he was also the youngest competitor at 22.
I would be really interested in how you rate the latest version of SOS from 2021.
His English back then was also rather rudimentary, he didn't speak English, so his English pronunciation isn't particularly good either. Its fans affectionately call it Dinglish. But now he's gotten a lot better.
He sings in many different languages, many native speakers say he sang perfectly.
He is fluent in Kazakh and Russian. He is learning English and is still dabbling in Mandarin.
He has perfect pitch. But he often takes out the earphones before singing spectacular passages.
He's really unique.

This was a very enjoyable reaction and a very interesting and informative analysis. Dimash performs here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. "I Am A Singer" is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the show by points each week.
At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against these professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition.
This was the very first episode of the competition, and Dimash had to go first because he was considered the weakest, given that he was completely unknown to the audience. After this performance, he became a superstar in China overnight. His Chinese competitors called him their "little imported brother." The other already well-known contestants were in absolute awe of him and joked that they might as well go home. Dimash won the first two episodes! He also won the 6th for his rendition of "Adagio," a song made famous by Lara Fabian.
First place overall went to the famous Chinese Sandy. Sandy's first album came out before Dimash was even born. Dimash took second place overall; however, he lost by a very narrow margin. He lost a lot of points for his performance of "Uptown Funk." Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a beloved star in China.
As part of the contest, all contestants/performers are required to perform one original song they have composed. Dimash sang "Unforgettable Day," a song he wrote when he was still in his teens - it's a love song. He sang in both the original Kazakh and in Chinese even though he did not speak Chinese at the time and had to have a translator with him throughout the competition.
Here is the order of Dimash's performances for The Singer 2017. The contest lasts 14 weeks, but Dimash has only 13 performances because he had already made it into the semi-finals by week 11.

I think he was actually nervous, this was the opening performance of the competition, he was virtually unknown in China, the audience were told to cheer him on, but nobody expected such a stunning performance! This made him an overnight sensation in Chinese countries, and he is still hugely popular there. He sings songs in Mandarin that are perfect in all ways. I've heard earlier versions by him of SOS where his French was much better, but current performances are I believe perfect in that respect. He is altogether an astonishing artist, with possibly over 13 million fans worldwide... And he has a kind of message encoded into his voice.. "Love one another"!
