watching this gave me the slightest bit of hope that even if you're from the other side of the world ( ireland in myself and rachel's case ) that i can still make something of myself on broadway . thank you rachel for giving me that hope 😇
That would be PHENOMENAL. I think Rachel would be an AMAZING choice for the movie actually. She's a good actress as well as singer. Though it will probably go to someone like Anna Kendrick or Lea Michele.
It's funny, because she is from Northern Ireland (as am I) and I absolutely hate the northern Irish accent, but most people from other countries say it's nice
Fun fact for anyone who didn't know: she and Samantha Barks (Eponine in the Les Miserables film and 02 concert) both started out on a reality competition to cast a Nancy in Oliver on the West End. Sam came in third place while Rachel came in fourth. You can see the entire tv series on youtube if you search I'd Do Anything BBC.
And so did Jessie Buckley who came in second. She's a real top notch film actress whose become much more recognized recently by the British film industry and Hollywood.
The first Broadway show I ever saw was Wicked when I was in middle school and I got to see her as Elphaba and her performance really made me fall in love with musical theater. She is incredible and I am so grateful I got the opportunity to see her. 🥺
When I saw Rachel In New York play this role I cried for 15 minutes after defying gravity because it was the most beautiful sound that I had ever heard come out of a person 😭💗
When I was younger I would paint my self green and would watch this while I was doing my makeup and pretend I was in one of these interviews. I would also put on an accent to act like I was Rachel.
The one question that I must ask is...how do you keep your face from breaking out under all that glop--and what do you do if you've got an enormous zit right in the middle of your face? Do you just cover it over (and make it worse) or...what?
Tyler Maxwell Oh Nice! You will have a blast. I've seen the show so many times in Sydney but I still fondly remember the first time I saw it in 2009. I'm sure you've seen footage online of Defying Gravity and the audience going nuts at the end......be prepared to cheer and clap your hands off.
+Anna Raymond The make up people on broadway always keep the actor's health as a top priority. They typically put on soothing lotion and primer so it doesn't clog her pores, and are very gentle upon removing it and touching it up. Plus is not actually paint, its cream based make up, which is much less harsh.
She's absolutely gorgeous. And her accent is so soothing.

You can do anything.
I live 17,000+ km away from NYC... kill me
Rachel is from Belfast not down south
Yaas Irish forever! 🇮🇪
@@vicomtexdaae3630 I live 56,000 km away
Help
The last thing I want to hear before I die is this woman reading Wicked(the novel) in that glorious accent.
Yes. Same.
Tonanzin Queen same

Adam Cunningham Really? I happen to find that accent so pretty and entrancing, especially when I here someone sing in it.
I could listen to her talk for months.
I know right! it's amazing how soft spoken she naturally is but when she's singing or acting she is very powerful
Like if you love your life & have the Elphaba in you!
That's fucking Northern Ireland and see when you fucking live there it's the worst thing you've ever heard In your life
+CIARON MCKENNA Preach it
CIARON MCKENNA crying at that comment, I live in Northern Ireland I couldn't agree more
"It feels very normal to be green" Kermit would agree :)

I LOVE THAT SHOW

That's only because it was a public vote if done on talent Rachel would have won hands down
I feel like Rachel would have a really good reading voice like she kinda sounds like those relax cds, she has a really calming voice😆
Forget her singing voice. Have you heard the woman sing? My god...no words.
The "Character Study" segments are my absolute favorite videos to watch on this channel. I hope there are more in the works! :)
character studies are my life PLEASE DO MORE TOO!
When she put the wig on, her hair looked SO real like, better then any other wig
Has nobody noticed Kara Lindsay just chilling in her dressing room for a little bit? I love both of these women

Nor I. Just saw her in London and her accent was flawless. Would never have guessed she wasn't English.
I came to see Rachel Tucker get green and give words of encouragement.
I ALSO GOT TO SEE KARA LINDSAY
When I saw Rachel In New York play this role I cried for 15 minutes after defying gravity because it was the most beautiful sound that I had ever heard come out of a person 😭💗
Wow, and I felt weird for watching the show over 65 times! LOL- I cried at "FOR GOOD"
She was amazing. Best Elphaba there ever was.

Phenomenal! Powerful words!!
When I was younger I would paint my self green and would watch this while I was doing my makeup and pretend I was in one of these interviews. I would also put on an accent to act like I was Rachel.
I could spot that Northern Ireland accent a million miles away!
She's incredible
I absolutely LOVE her accent!!
Can Craig please release an Elphaba makeup tutorial?
I saw this power house on Broadway she is the best of all of the elphies following her is Lindsay in my opinion
She is one of the OG elphabas
I would love to see her do a CHARACTER STUDY about her current role as Beverly Bass and others in Come From Away
2:35-Don't you mean, WITCH, is great? (Okay, I should be banished.)
She was my Elphaba! 💚💚💚
I love her.
im obsessed
Kara Lindsey appeared for like .2 seconds and I just smiled
I love heeer!♥

I actually dressed as the male version of Elphaba... It was quite comforting to be painted green.
My fav! The growl........it's the growl for me.
An emerald girl from the Emerald Isle!
❤️❤️❤️❤️ Rachel ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Other than Idina, Rachel is the only other Elphaba that made me cry during "Defying Gravity" live.
Aww. I love Rachel. She gives me the tingles. Stephanie j block is another favorite elphaba i saw
Any advice for a (hopefully) future Elphaba? :-)
💚💚💚💚💚
Who is the actress playing Glinda in this clip?
Kara Lindsay
CANT WAIT UNTIL MARCH 9Th
+Tyler Maxwell What's happening March 9?
Tyler Maxwell Oh Nice! You will have a blast. I've seen the show so many times in Sydney but I still fondly remember the first time I saw it in 2009. I'm sure you've seen footage online of Defying Gravity and the audience going nuts at the end......be prepared to cheer and clap your hands off.
+Tyler Maxwell Kara is leaving at the end of January unfortunately
+Tyler Maxwell She confirmed on her twitter the other day
Please tell me someone had recorded her full Elphaba performance. I׳ll pay.
I watched u on the west end though
Can't wait to go see it in July. Just 2 months. 2.
Is it July yet?
No?
FML
Kara Lindsay💜
So does the West End do this production with English accents or American accents?
2:30 the lace….a straight person did that for sure
She is best friends with my moms best friend
If that's true she's so lucky
Wicked
“Wouldn’t let myself be bullied”...... doesn’t work like that
i don't need to see ANOTHER greenifying process i say as i click on the video
Iv met Rachel tuker
Damn she has to have green nails for at least 2 years straight, but it even worse it seems like she takes it off and reapplies it everyday.
Trying to figure out which county she is from so I am guessing it is Down
She is from Ireland 😂
+Toby Turpin Down is a county in Ireland...I'm from Ireland 😂✋🏼
+Alyson Kb she's from Belfast
Antrim!
+CherAnn Macuroy Yeah the Antrim (Belfast) and the down accents are pretty much the same so it's hard to tell 😂 thanks 💕
Green team from Lindsay fly girl
I had her as my alpha
Yeah she's Irish!
Her hairstyle changes throughout the musical... how do they do that with a wig? Does she change wigs or something?
Yeah I think she has her act one braid wig that they unbraid in popular and then the second wig with the small braid around her head.
how does her skin not hate her for painting on it every night??
+Anna Raymond The make up people on broadway always keep the actor's health as a top priority. They typically put on soothing lotion and primer so it doesn't clog her pores, and are very gentle upon removing it and touching it up. Plus is not actually paint, its cream based make up, which is much less harsh.
+Anna Raymond I've heard from interviews that it affects each girl's skin differently. Lindsay Mendez talked about what it did to hers on her vlog.
Had no idea she was Scottish
She's from Northern Ireland
B D T She's Northern Irish 😂 x
Anyone else here think she kinda looks like Kristen Stewart?
I love you
