Sukoya Stomping Two Quiz Kings with her Medical Knowledge [Nijisanji]

One of my favorite moments from the NijiQuiz collab. Sukoya is a legit medical worker, as reflected in her setting, and also quite possibly the smartest individual in Nijisanji. Here she unleashes part of her medical knowledge in a quiz pitting six Nijisanji members against two people from the renowned quiz organization in Japan, QuizKnock.
It's an amazing stream that has many golden moments, and this is one of them. Other highlights include Rikiichi soloing Jasco in Limited Shiritori, Mayuzumi fighing QuizKnock in their home turf topic, and the nijisanji-quizknock combination questions.
I'm starting to get a hang of my workflow, and I've gotten some material for the next compilation clip. Stay tuned and look forward to it!

From June 2021, Sukoya will be taking a break from streaming to continue her studies, and will most likely return by March 2022. While she will still appear in official events, such as NijiQuiz and Deion-bu, her solo and collab streams will be few and far between.
Let's wish the best for her efforts present and future, and wait warmly for her return. I know I'll miss her.

9 months is quite a long time. I wish her the best in her studies, it's a good thing that she chooses to do one thing at a time instead of everything at the same time. Hopefully she'll come back sooner than later.

Asserting dominance
So Sukoya has actually used that Hasegawa procedure on patients before. This is the gap between people who just know trivia and real professional
@Otaku Reactions Mashup things like these are indeed weird but fun little trivia knowledge. For example, I just happen to know that certain older HP procurve network switches lose their vlan settings if an SFP module is inserted/removed from it. This is something we had to struggle with on a project like 4 years ago.
Well, since medicine is a highly regulated field, even someone who can do medical procedures are not eligible to practice that on a daily basis, unless they go to medical college and finish their study there. Plus, there are competence exam before you are given the title MD (medical doctor).

I think it's the equivalent of the MMSE over in the US. Similar stuff. But ya, very common among medical professionals to just know it by heart.

This video made me realize that Sukoya really is a nurse or a medical employee if i'm not mistaken. If that's the case, I hope she can stay safe, especially in these hard corona times.

Tomoe mentioned in one of her Nurse Love Syndrome streams that "Sukoya isn't a nurse (看護師). I think she's more like a medical worker (医療従事者), but you'll have to ask her yourself."
i love the diversity of people that nijisanji hires, you get people cant even use a compooter and you get people with actual jobs and you get mad lads doing 24 hour streams instead of just picking out people with stacked resumes on online related matters

The fact that sukoya could also speak english quite fluently, suggest that she's probably actually a professional..
Ah, don't assume professionalism based on their English proficiency... I've actually known quite a few professionals (an engineer and a doctor) who aren't very proficient...
Proficiency in english didn't determine professional but in this case sukoya is just really that smart

@@KeiKatsuuu MD here. Most of these are general medical knowledge for nurses and doctors alike. Equivalent to the Hasegawa scale would be the MoCA exam--most nurses should be aware of this but I wouldn't be surprised if nurses forget it if the population they work with rarely includes geriatrics. It's still impressive how fast she can state the answers from a few words.
@@eiendeeai As a vet student and former vet tech, I agree. Badycardia and tachycardia are terms I hear almost daily at work, isotonic is something you just remember every time you prepare an IV drip. We obviously don't use any dementia scales but there are similar things as well.

I have a friend who went to Tokyo U. She said that a lot of it's students just studied really hard to pass. Once they're in, they get lazy for studies, they weren't so smart. It's like just studying to do the exams and that's it.

damn how tf do they even have time to be vtubers and have another job, especially something like nurse or teacher which is so time consuming.
They are kinda different from Hololive, since they don't need to have regular content and do stuff like singing and dancing. Mostly just playing games and having a good time. Nijisanji feels like watching a bunch of friends having fun virtually.
Their followers don't see them as idols, that's why they often talk about topics around their own sex and relationship experiences, and the audiences are fine with it. I'm not deluded that idols have to be "pure", but Japanese tend to have different opinion. In fact considering hololive members are pretty much adults, I am sure they mostly have such experiences too, but as idols thry can't talk about it like Nijisanji can.
@@alexsolosm I know all that, I wasn't talking about the Idol stuff? I just mean the frequency of streams vs having a real job. For instance, I know Kanae streams basically 24/7 so obviously there's no way he has another job.
@@gloomsi well I think some of them already had Jobs before becoming a streamer (nijisanji) and that they don't have a stream requirement. But I think 1 major factor is the difference in super chats. In hololive as you can probably already see, the amount of share they get on the superchats daily are enough to make it a full time job.

Nijisanji doesn't really make their livers do regulars, their livers can do almost anything on their channel as long as it's not copyrighted or offensive/negative. Even if they want to do copyrighted stuff, for example, music covers, games etc etc. They just have to ask for permission from their staff members.
That's why most Nijisanji livers seem to take it easy compared to Hololive who basically has tight schedules. And that's also why Nijisanji doesn't grow as big as Hololive is in terms of viewership.
See ZEA Cornelia from NijiID for example, she takes long breaks often because irl stuff most of the time and nobody really mind her about that. They'll be happy to wait for her return to stream soon enough everytime anyone takes a break.

She still has her day-job responsibilities as far as I know. The only liver I know who's confirmed(?) to be a full-time streamer is Kuzuha.

TIL there are other scoring systems to screen for dementia other than the AMT! Never heard of the hasegawa scale before. Also cool to find that the questions in the hasegawa scale are nearly the same as those in the AMT
here we usually use MMSE to check patient's mental status. the questions are pretty similar to hasegawa scale

The first two questions are pretty basic tbh, I figure anyone studying or working along the lines of the healthcare field can answer it. The last one is hard to tell, since different countries might use different questionnaires for a psych disease. But the speed she answers is amazing! She's probably gone thru a lot of exam sample questions or taken a lot of exams herself to be able to tell what they would ask given the info they pick.

Sukoya originally didn't want to go in to the medical field because it's too emotionally draining.
She studied a lot with the mindset that she should keep as many paths for the future open as possible.
The day before her grandpa died, he told her something like:
"Kana, you're smart. You should do go into the medical field and help others. After you've at least tried that, if there's something else you'd rather do (like acting or band), then do it."

Nijisanji team, they scored 230 pts and the QuizKnock 180 pts.
QuizKnock totaly destroyed them in Arts (Rion-sama subject), Fuwa Minato (obv Fuwa Minato subject) and QuizKnock (Mayu), but Niji totally killed them in Vocaloid (Ryushen), Medicine and B'z (Rikiichi). There was also history of Japan (Gundou), but the questions were really difficult, and the funny thing is that Sukoya was the only one to answer a question
