- Welcome back folks, I hope that you are all having a great morning, day, or evening wherever you are in the world. I was down at my local hardware store purchasing some lawn care equipment when I bumped into an old friend. We got into a bit of a conversation and eventually, we got around to youtube and garden transformations. My mate said that his mum's place really needed some work and I should go around a and have a look and see if I could help. This job is outside of my normal work area, but I was willing to travel for an old friend. The plan was simple - remove all the bushes and trees to allow more light and heat into the house. As you will see, the side garden area of this house has been neglected for many years. The pittosporum along the fence were originally planted as a screening hedge, but they have grown into considerable trees and all they do now is block light. All up, I spent around 12 hours on this job, including 5 trips to the landfill.

FAQ's:
Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem to be the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music. - บันเทิง

I’ve been watching your channels for 5 days now - I subscribed to one of them. I love the way you landscape unkempt yards! Such a great job!!. Only at the beginning of this video I felt sorry that you trimmed the trees to the very roots - now all we can see from the windows is a boring fence! Maybe should have kept them 5-7 feet tall?
Thank you !❤
Can I just say that I really enjoy your approach to these projects. You work in small manageable sections, clean up as you go, and don't get ahead of yourself. I love watching!
Doing small areas helps with filming also. ❤
❤
I enjoy watching your work. So efficient and neat.
@@shirleymukes4883 He went from a garden of eden, to a desolate wasteland.
@@gregorybryant6610At least the home won't be damp and moldy❤
What a difference! Can only imagine the neighbour would be happy with the added light too!
I remember thinking when you lost your partner dang he have to do it by himself but truthfully you never needed anyone else you take pride in your work and it shows you are awesome
💯💯💥💫👍👍👍
Who would imagine that small area could look so big and bright after removing all those bushes! Beautiful job George! 👏👏
13 tons? Wow, amazing! Removing those trees along the house will help both houses, actually all three, with light and dryness too. Fantastic cleanup.
Not only the home owner will be happy, so would the neighbor
What a transformation....almost saw the house breathe a sigh of relief😁
I do believe the house is smiling ❤🎉
It feels the sun 🌞 on her face again
You are amazing my good man 💕
You didn’t just help, you did a fantastic job all by yourself.
I'm always curious to see what's in all the sheds that have been covered up for all those years. I agree clearing everything out was for the best.😊❤️
You fix things too. You're a perfectionist and that's how any task or work must be done.
Hello George: That side yard had far too many trees and plants for that very narrow area. Hopefully, the owner will appreciate the additional amount of natural light, coming into the house.
It's amazing so much can grow in such a small area. It really was a jungle. Hard working George, 💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻💖
What a difference. It was so gloomy before. Amazing job George.
I will tell you that a good part of my enjoyment of your videos is the different neighborhoods you go to and seeing what it looks like to live in Tasmania. Thank you!
Love all you do in your videos George. Thank you for making a difference to people’s lives. ❤
I'm sure your mate will be happy for his mother.
It's very nice to see that the edge is cleared.
"Land of Wonders" - perfect song for the ending, George! I am sure your friend's mom was quite pleased with the new found sunlight you gave to her home. What a differnce! You never fail us! Thank you for always making my Saturday a bit brighter.
I totally agree with you taking out all of those trees. I would have been driving me crazy with all that in such a small area! Great job as usual!
It looks so.much longer and brighter
No, no. You have to say, " im going to get stuck in." It's my favorite part! ❤
Another great job! It is amazing how much light and space your work made available to the homeowner.
13 tons and that excludes all those rubbish and old things you’ve hauled. Amazing! I must say i really enjoy your videos George and the work that you do! Cheers!
Jorge parabéns ficou muito bonito como sempre fica.
You never disappoint George . That's back breaking work but you never stop and it looks completely different by the time you're done. Absolutely Fantastic !
13 tonnes of garden waste since January. You won't need a gym!
Your friend's mother will definitely be happy with the result. A few new songs. I like! And I'd love to see more of the comments displayed!
By the way: currently there is one like for every four views. Great!
Many greetings from Germany 🥸
So you think his mother is going to be happy seeing her green garden go to a wasteland devoid of color.
Hello mate 🙋♂️🙂
WOW George...What a remarkable, clean difference 😮! You do such a magnificent job! Unbelievable amount of work on this one, for sure! ❤😊
Everyone should have a buddy like you George.! I have been watching your videos from the very beginning and you never fail to amaze me. The way you clean section by section as you go. Even do a little repair jobs as well. You are my favorite by far. The house must be so happy, bathing in all the light and beautiful fresh air. BTW, love the beard. Keep it, it is so sexy. 😘
Hi George, with such a narrow garden you can only work your way from front to back. Nice that you cut everything away, everything was already extremely high, and I think the neighbor will be happy too.
THAT was a monumental task, and a massive undertaking on your part. It was amazing how such a small sliver of dirt held so much bush! Beautiful job.
MUCH BETTER.JOB WELL DONE. WATCHING FROM VIENNA , AUSTRIA , EUROPE. KEEP SAFE ALWAYS
Как приятно каждую субботу наслаждаться тобой и твоей работой😊❤
What a huge difference! George, you helped this lady in so many ways. A lack of light also effects a persons mood and mental health. Living in a dark and gloomy environment is not good. Thank you for saving this lady from the encroaching greenery. I noticed you have been wearing the Jim's Mowing gear on the last few videos. Then just yesterday the Jim's Mowing channel popped up on my TH-cam feed. There were some of your videos on it. I was surprised to see them there and I hope for you that this means you now have a sponsorship with them. Love your videos George.😊♥
Yes as you say the lack of sunlight and damp was a concern, the person still can have some greenery on the side , just alot smaller plants, very nice cleanup.
What a great job 👏
All neighbours must be happy as well with the light coming back!!☀️☀️☀️
Great job, George! I imagine they will see their electric bill drop considerably seeing they won't need so many lights on during the day! I know that kitchen will seem brand new with all the light coming in now!!!
Wow! Not only will the house have light and air, they will have room for nice little flower garden or a few veg plants. Huge difference!
WOW ! 😳 That’s a lot of green waste! But after watching the videos it’s not hard to believe George. You do great work. 💪👏🏼👏🏼👍☺️
Really glad you cleared it ALL out. That's what was sorely needed -- and that's what your client asked for. Stout work -- thanks for the great episode.
I hope your friend subscribed to your channel after this. His mum must be absolutely chuffed with the results, also the neighbours. Great video. ❤❤ Pauline. Wiltshire 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Please let us know the reason the son was unable to help both you and his mother
Regards from Germany 🇩🇪 as I tend to get up late at the weekend I enjoy watching your videos when having a late breakfast 😊
Those bushes and trees really were out of control now there is so much light again.
Thank you for listing the name of plants. Great job!
Shame about the jasmine but I guess it might grow back in a more manageable way.Your videos are very relaxing and the results are great. One of the best garden transformers out there. Respect✌️🏴
Always amazing job with you George you make my Saturday morning ❤
That was a nice one George. The place looks so much better now. Your mate and his mother must be so happy now.
Yay! My favorite thing to do is sit down with a cup of coffee and watch Quick Cuts on Saturday morning here in the US. Beautiful job, as always, George! Love your videos!! 💚💚💚
13 tons is so impressive, and after watching you for quite some time, totally believable! 💪👏
You are awesome. I am enjoying seeing you work. This is really a cleanup. You doing a superb job.
It looked more like a house in the woods :-) Now you can finally breathe freely there and more light shines into the house. A friend and his mother can be satisfied !!! Jana
Yes! Here early! I even stopped editing my video just to watch this one :D
hahaha, nice
But you're really doing a great job too. And with the new camera work I can follow your videos very well. greetings from Germany 🥸
🤣🤣🤣❤️👍🇦🇺
OH MY GOSH my other fave here too? awesome!
GREAT WORK SEAN!! THIS LADY WILL BE VERY HAPPY!!❤️🙏🏻👍🤗❤️
George, you are awesome! Yet another clear-out/clean-up is done in your own inimitable style. This ladies house will be bathed in daylight once more. That jasmine had gone berserk, eh? Well done, an absolute delight to watch you weave your gardening magic yet again. 😊❤😊
George we Love your remarkable tenacity on achieving the best outcome for your customers. Thank you for sharing. God Bless.
13 tons since January!!! George that is incredible!!
You did an amazing job on this property! Your old mate has to be thrilled!! I love all your videos! Truly you are my favorite!! ❤
Wonderful job! That will brighten up all her remaining days for sure.
A true perfectionist! Thank you for the episode.
Big, bright grin on that house now. Massive change. Love your work George. Cheers.
Hi George. I'm in the USA-Gulf Coast Region. Southern Louisiana to be more precise. I love watching you transform these gardens, yards, spaces....you have a great eye for detail and always make them look so nice. Bless you for all you do.
Neighbours will be pleased. Definitely needed to be stripped out, dried up, and replanted. Good job.
It will be open and sunny, look stunning. Thank you
Outstanding the lady won't know herself with all the light she will have fantastic job ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
I’m sure your friend and his mum are thrilled with this garden restoration! I can say, from a viewers perspective, that I was thrilled watching you do this massive job in such a small space. It’s also very kind that you went outside of your normal work area to do the job. Mr. Mighty Gardener has a soft heart👍👍👏👏🤩
Are you crazy,do you know what a restoration is ,you take something an make it better.Taking a green garden and turning it to dirt is not restoring it.
@@gregorybryant6610 I’m comfortable in my knowledge of what a restoration is. If you are not, be assured that George took this jungle and restored it to its former glory and use. It is easy to maintain as it regrows, and offers usability to a side yard that was not accessible before. Doesn’t make me crazy, just appreciative of a garden restoration.
Like I SAID ,ARE YOU F N CRAZY,THERES NOTHING TO RESTORE IT,S DIRT.
@@gregorybryant6610 🤷🏻♀ I don’t understand why you think a hard cut back would produce perfect results?
@@Michele_Williams HARD CUTBACK 🤨🤔
You outdid yourself on this one George. I hope your mate watches this video and saw how much care went into the cleaning of his mum's place.
George, another awesome transformation! You are the hardest worker on TH-cam! I love your videos.😀
The neighbours will appreciate the extra light as well.
I always like watching your work. You always mix it up doing each section at a time. Really enjoyable to watch. That would be a good property for a pressure wash. Especially down the side of the house. Keep up the great work 👍
Really lovely job! While others may not like that you removed all the trees and shrubbery, I think it was brilliant. Not only does it open the space to allow more sunlight, it also opens it to so many new possibilities for use. Potted plants can always be added to give it some greenery and flowers. I can definitely see this becoming an outdoor living space with tables and chairs. A lovely place for an afternoon tea, or if you’re like me, an evening cigar and glass of whisky. Nicely done George!❤
Great job! Absolutely amazing. This property screams for a comprehensive power washing!
Great job now the house can dry out and breathe. Love your work
Hi George, the green waste was all imported plants, no loss. The area can be re planted for spring. You did a great job. ❤ from Queensland
I so look forward to your posts and seeing what you find buried in the gardens. Once again - you did not disappoint! I hope that her son would follow up and get the stumps & roots out before anything grows back. And the bush in front is now the best height for maximum shade and light - and provides privacy. Nicely done.
Small jungle, good work George ! Now the lady see the sun ☀️ but need little plants with flower 🌺🌹... Have nice weekend from Italy 🇮🇹 ❤
Great job George it looks wonderful it was really enjoyable to watch this content. That was a lot of greenery to have to dispose of but it made a huge difference.😊
Great Job!
I recommend your pal power wash now so his mom won't slip on the grime. You are a good friend.
I've always trusted your judgement of these situations. It is your aesthetic, and knowledgable approach to every one of these gardening disasters I admire. Your knowledge of flora and how to deal wth it is impressive. I really love how you identify the plant life in your videos. You are top-notch in my book.
Sometimes you just have to start over from scratch. This is one of those times. I am surprised that the fence wasn't destroyed by the overgrowth. And bamboo lurking in there as well!!! Goodness. Great job as always. Much better access now for any kind of service and for his Mom to get in and out. Your buddy will be amazed and so glad he ran into you. 😊👍 13 tons of yard waste to date.......incredible!! Getting Tasmania sorted one yard at at time.
Great job. New subscriber here. Fellow Hobartian. 😂Someone in America put me on to your channel. She told me how she loves looking at our beautiful old city and buildings. Figured I would give your channel a watch.
What a change for the better!
😎🇺🇸
Thank you George for another incredible episode of joy.
Attention to every corner for you is a must!
Thanks for helping all these people, and making our saturdays great!
Fantastic work George! 💪I like your choice of music, and that we can still hear the sounds of you raking, cutting and trimming during the music. 🌿
Plant low growing ground cover or flowers. Then she’ll have something pretty to look at in the space. 🤩☺️
George, the man with the sexiest one leg kneel in the business. Good job sir, pity all the bushes had to go but understandable. B xx
She is going to so enjoy having light and love in her kitchen again. Thank you for doing this!
Me alegro de ser de las primeras. Son las 4:09am en USA FLORIDA pero soy de poco sueño y seguidora fiel de los videos de George❤
My goodness, talk about overgrowth!!! In such a narrow space. Creature habitat was lost, but it HAD to be done to save the brick and wooden siding. That space needed air movement and light, AND, you gave it to BOTH homes. Now the house can be power washed and painted, and the windows cleaned properly. Also the outside appliances which were looking moldy. Power wash the sidewalks, etc., etc. Also some small flowering shade plants such as rhododendrons, azaleas, bleeding hearts, hostas, lilies of the valley, and fuschias can be planted in the dirt beds.
I agree, take it all out and make it easier to maintain. Us old folks cannot keep up!
King 👑 George to the rescue.
There you go again, preforming miracles.
❤😊😊😊
Nice work George!! Great editing and perfect music, especially the last piece Land of Wonders 🥰🙌💯💯💯💚💚💚.
You make it look so easy George but I'll bet it's not. You could almost hear the poor house breathe a big sigh of relief !!
Hello again George, looks fantastic. 13 tons of green waste since January? I can believe that after watching all your videos. See you next time on Quick Cuts. Thank you, Joyce ❤️🙏🇺🇸
Your attention to detail is what sets you apart from the other lawn guys and why you are my favorite continue your good work!
Your renovations are thorough and soul satisfying. 🌻❤️👍👍👍👍👍
Once all the vegetation was removed, you can see how damp everything was beneath. Great improvement!
George you the master of lawns. Hi from Michigan USA.
Good job. Very tidy.
The son will have to get someone to power wash the steps and walkways so his mum doesn’t slip on them.
Sometimes you just have to clear it all away to get to a fresh start!
Great job George like always❣️👍 Nice weekend everyone 🌏☕️🍫🏄✨️
Outstanding job as usual.
Hello George, l love watching each episode of yours, I find it very interesting and informative. Keep up the great work. Thanks Stephen
Have you ever thought about getting a wood chipper that will handle up to 4" branches? You could chip all your clippings up and more would fit in your trailer, which would make for fewer trips to the dump.
