They're all really good and it's fun to mess with your brain. But, I gotta say, I have seen most of these illusions over the years.... ...all except Monster Faces!!! That was truly AMAZING.. worthy of your channel title! I've never seen an illusion like that before.. I'm blown away.

I used to be fascinated by variations of the waterfall illustration when I was young. One really good example of this is riding in the back of a pickup truck facing the car behind you. When you come to a stop at a light or something, it looks like you're moving backwards as the road and or any stopped cars behind you appear to be coming towards you. Who else has done this?
I did one where when you looked at it you saw a complete face but then you would examine it closer you could see it change into all different ones. It took me over a year to do. My daughter wanted it to put in her binder cover and someone stole it.
I got a good one that has to do with driving. Two actually. To reduce instances of speeding, there is a highway near where I live that the white lane lines are painted shorter and closer together on purpose to make it seem like you are driving faster than you actually are. And after driving on a long stretch of straight road for a long time, when you finally come to a stop, you keep pressing on the brake harder and harder because it looks like you are still rolling forward, when you are completely stopped.

There's a (sort of) practical application for the barrier-grid animation illusion. If you're looking at something through a patterned screen, like.. almost closed slat blinds, or a dense screen. You can see through it by bobbing your head up and down slightly. Your brain will mostly erase the obstruction and let you see what's behind it. It's basically the opposite of the animation.
The Silhouette Illusion doesn't change for me. No matter where I look or what direction the arrows are spinning in, I can only see it as spinning clockwise.
The strangest optical illusion to me is, let's say you have black letters over a colored background rotating through the spectrum rapidly. As the background shifts quickly through all the colors of the rainbow, the black letters (or black stick figure) will seem to pulse up and down with each color cycle.
Here's a challenge; when he shows you the lines to help with the spinning silhouette, try to see her spinning both ways at the same time in your peripherals. Took me about 2 minutes of trying haha. Sorry if i made anyone's brain hurt.
I can imagine some rich guy decorating the inside of his mansion with many of these optical illusions. Certainly would make for an interesting spectacle for visitors.

Back in TH-cam's infancy, we used to search up a video titled something like "natural hallucinogen". I think the specific one was called "Sahara" and it featured flashing squares of yellow and black lines, standing on an angle. We'd stare at the screen and then look away and see the whole room and it's contents would move. 😂
21:05 I would have this illusion happen to me after walking home from school, once I got home and stopped moving it would still look like things were in motion to my eyes for at least a couple minutes. 😄👍

I tend to watch cab view videos (train driver point of view videos) and you see it often with those when they stop at a station or light.
