I came out so late in life that my parents were gone by the time I came out. First and foremost, I had to come out to myself. Since I had never had anything romantic or physical with another guy, it was easy to deny that I was gay. Sadly I remained in that denial for most of my adult life. STILL, when I came out to myself and others, most of my friends and family rejected me. Boris is so lucky to have a guy like Tobias to stand by his side and love him. And for a man like that, I'd stand up to anyone to defend and protect him...especially dear ole dad. I'd tell dear ole dad he can screw his job, his hotel, and a relationship with his son, if he can't accept who Boris is and who he loves. Love is worth fighting for...because it is so precious and rare.
I’m starting a new Xenia & Werner fan club. On a more serious note - I went through an almost similar experience to Boris. It can destroy you but if you can stick to who you are, you will find that you only become the best person for it. Since then, there has only been love and compassion for people from all walks of life.
I'm glad my parents couldn't care less about my sexual orientation. They always said they would only intervene if my partner was no good for me, e.g. cheating on me. But rejecting your kids because they're gay is the most stupid thing my dad said. Me and my siblings are straight but it's still good to hear it. I've seen a friend of mine struggle to come out, he only came out to me after we saw some homophobe protesters in the city and I called them stupid and narrow minded. He was afraid to tell me even though we knew each other for so long and needed reassurance that I would not leave him for him to come out. I'm glad he did but it's sad that there is still so much fear, and it's not always reasonless...

Excellent photography, costumes are perfect, the upper class schtick well done, actors are handsome and so well groomed, why he wears the same shirt for days in puzzling, the dialogue boring, the story inane, a complete waste of time and effort: tell me what is interesting, innovative, surprising, or in any way a new view of something old....beefcake is not a subject to sell, except to old queens and old ladies...
I love this story, but one thing is very wrong and it takes me out of the scenes. I don’t know the time line of how long they’ve been having their relationship, but when the two are alone, boris doesn’t instigate any affection. Even as little as touching tobias’ hand or cheek.
I think that Boris is occupied with the drama with his father. He is the one that needs the support. It will be better soon when they can be open and Happy! 😃
