Shriek was fucking lame, a McGuffin just to defeat Carnage in the end and to have a sudden change of heart. What made no sense to me was at the beginning, if they knew Shriek's superpower was yelling, why did they not cover her mouth before transferring her? And the overall script is just really bad Lol
A scene i thought was dumb, was when shriek was attacking the cop atop the church. She was literally killing him, hanging him from a chain around the neck. Carnage decided it was time to kill the girlfriend. So he picks her up, and climbs the church. Once atop, shriek decides that carnage has gone too far, and intervenes.. why? She was literally killing the cop, but carnage wanting to kill the girlfriend was TOO EVIL .. Dumb
Practically all of Carnage's (the symbiote) motivations points were dumb and made no sense. I left the theater just dumbfounded because that wasn't Carnage at all.
Venom and Eddie were like Marvels Beavis and Butthead in this movie. Just painful. The end credit isn't a TEASE, it's a threat. The Sonyverse is coming for the MCU and no one is safe from the schlock they have in store...
Indeed, they are the PERFECT symbiote. In fact, their bond is so strong, it parallel's perfectly with Venom and Eddie because Venom just needs a host. Eddie is the one desperate for the symbiote -- their bond is a one sided stockholm syndrome. They messed that up majorly, along with his voice. His voice and size irritated me. He's supposed to be lean and sound high pitched and psychotic. If they would've fixed those two things and got rid of Shriek entirely, I would've loved this film.
and when are you guys unterstanding that a movie adaptation DOES NOT need to use already used story lines and lore. MAYBE they want to create something different? I don’t like the fact that they made Carnage to have two different beings. Since the symbiote is inside Cletus body, that would mean he takes all control of it.
Not in defense of the movie, but Carnage is much more in control of Cletus than Cletus likes to admit. He just enjoys the ride and Carnage is naturally predisposed to do things that Cletus wants to do. I remember some lines from Carnage USA hinting towards him basically suggest he doesn't know if he's ever been in control or if he's just been okay with what's happening. But he had to talk Carnage into doing that entire plot line in the first place.
I mean they were never together. They only worked together so carnage can get to venom because cletus knew where and how to get to brock. So they were never together to begin with.

About the end credit scene, I don’t think anyone is talking about how the spell brought Venom in the MCU but it also didn’t make the world forget about Spider-Man or his secret identity it just announced it to the multiverse, and that’s how Doc Oc and the other villains get the drop on Pete as well as the other Spider men get called into action.
That would be interesting PLUS all the people Peter named that he didn't want to forget about him were the only ones who did forget. Like the reverse of the spell.

I think that Eddie acts so weird and is all cracked out and jittery is because he has venom in him and it's messing with him even though that they are compatible it's not perfect because when we see venom leave Eddie he's finally normal, acts and moves like a regular person.
The amount of people that are impressed with this movie purely because it had that end credit scene is depressing. It could be the most average movie of the year but get hyped up because of that small addition 🤦♂️. Eddie Brock is too awkward and tweaky here and I couldn't care less about his love life...most of the film he was just bitching anyways "I just want to have a normal life *wah*". Venom behaves like a hyper 5 year old, I just don't like this version of Venom. He's the not-so-lethal protector here since we don't really get to see him be the anti-hero and kill the bad guys. Venom's not supposed to be cute dammit lol. We get an odd-couples banter sitcom with cringe jokes all over. Wonderful. Cletus Kasady is too violent and obscene to have him be on a damn pg-13 film, hence why Carnage is way too tame in this and why I wasn't looking forward to any of these Venom films. I liked the Carnage character design but his voice sounded too close to Venom's. Oh and here's Shriek for some reason idk, might need her later. Venom recognizes Spider-Man’s because in Spider-Man 3 the symbiot was attached to Peter, in a dif universe. So it makes sense that the dr strange whoops will now introduce venom into the spider verse.
Yeah. It'll be a cop-out ending in No Way Home. Spider-man will have to "do the thing" and "save teh world" by sending everyone back to their own dimension.
Another issue I had with Carnage, is that he is supposed to be intertwined with Cletus' bloodstream. I didn't like how he was separated from him at the end before he died. And another thing. Isn't Carnage supposed to be more resistant (if not fully resistant) to loud noises, compared to Venom and other symbiotes? Why did they change that here?
Venom is my all time favourite villain and I really can't care about this. Actually I hate this. There is nothing unique about Spider-Man and Venom fight if there is no development of the relationship between Peter and Eddie. It will just feel like a WWE match between two very popular wrestler. Marvel tried to do this right in Homecoming and Far From Home with the villains they used but seems like Sony doesn't care about the story at all. They just want quick money.

Here's the thing about cletus getting a symbiote via biting. It's not any less dumb than the comics, where venom literally just left his spawn laying around and one of them infects cletus.
Yeah but it’s still more dumb because anyone could acquire a symbiote that way. At least in the comics it was a rare event and them having an asexual spawn is better lore than consuming blood.
Actually it’s much dumber in this movie than in the comics, because if Cletus biting Eddie is enough to make Eddie/Venom bleed, then why doesn’t Venom coat the walls in symbiote/blood every time they’re shot? Venom is an alien that’s impervious to most forms of attack, so if a dude with an overbite can make Venom bleed, that’s some bad writing.
So I'm thinking with the end credits scene Eddy's appearing just when No Way Home is taking place setting up for a end sequence where the 2 will meet. Cletus got his head bitten off in that universe, but I'm thinking he'll be alive in Peter Parker's universe. Only because the only other Venom would be Flash Tompson but he's in Pete's grade. Cassedy somewhere ALIVE in prison. History does tend to repeat itself.

Carnages birth was really that easy in the comics too. When Venom breaks out of jail, he leaves behind a scratch of itself on the bars. Kassidy just picked it up and a new symbiote is born! Easy as 1 2 3.
I personally liked the movie, just didn’t like Shriek felt like she wasn’t needed. Also the after credit scene made the whole movie worth watching for me.
About time. Literally the main thing to Venom's charachter is that he desires Peter Parker as a host more than anyone, including Eddie. He considers Spider-Man as the ultimate host and his literal absolutely perfect host. That's why after Venom bonds to Eddie he still resembles Spider-Man and makes "webs" of his own.
Nah he only tuned to Peter cause Peter was his first. He imprinted on venom, and venom actually hates him because while they sync perfectly, venom blames Peter for the negative sides to his character. As at the time we were to believe that symbiotes didn't have a personality until they bonded for the first time

Guys you are thinking about this on surface level. The symbiote connected with kassedy when he bit him and chose to transfer to him. Just like it happened in the comics. Think about it, Venom has been wanting to go out there and destroy things, part of the symbiote transferred for this reason. The thing is, the spiderman broadcast is just happening when Venom appeared, but everything in the Spiderman trailer shows, Dr strange did the spell much later, possibly a few days later..so how can it be the spell? Something else?
Depending how big the story is for the media they'll keep coverage on the single story over a period of time like political stories or in this case a "major crime" or breakthrough story which it is so there we have it in context

So I think I can tell what makes me really like the movie is that I have not read a Carnage comic. The only intro to Carnage I had was the animated Spiderman series and the 2000 Spiderman game. So This movie was a serious step up and probably the best onscreen interpretation we're going to get.

I suspect what'll happen is Venom will want to kill Toxin, because of the whole once every 10k Years a Super Symbiote is born, but is born crazy, and is afraid of what Toxin will become because of being Carnage's Spawn. So Venom will be the villain in the movie till the tail end.

Well originally Venom can reproduce anytime he wants and he does not need anything... So I think they handled this one pretty good... Would be pretty dumb if he made offspring intentionally for Cletus since he is an anti-hero in these movies not an actual villain (yet) as he is in the comics.... Its pretty hard to think of different way how to create carnage when brock is not in the prison with Cletus as a prisoner....
It wasn’t that Eddie got bit that made cletus carnage. It was that venom produced a offspring and it traveled into cletus from the bite by eddies blood. Like how in the comics cletus has a cut on his hand and the offspring falls into the cut and makes carnage.they just switched who’s blood it transfers from

After Venom 2, Venom is definitely in the same universe as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, but he’s not technically in the MCU unless they acknowledge Venom in some way. Morbius has already been established as being in the same universe as well, but you can bet your ass Kevin Feige isn’t acknowledging Morbius in the MCU lol.

This movie definitely has to many diverging points and plots to where it feels bloated. I will say I wish there were more scenes like when Eddie uses his journalism skills to find the house where Cletus and shriek stayed at, but put it more towards finding carnage after he escapes and putting clues together. All it boils down to is add a bit of batman flavor to Eddie's arsenal.
Hate it when anybody other than the hero takes out the bad guy. Soon as Shriek was introduced I knew exactly how Carnage was going to be done in. Ruined the movie for me.

Listen the casting for Cletus Cassidy was perfect... but when I saw PG-13 I knew they weren't gonna do Carnage justice... the design of him was great to me but... I wanted Carnage to have a bit more Carnage... mans was supposed to be super OP and I don't think we got that.
I waited years to see carnage on the big screen after hearing so many rumors of Spider-Man 4 but to see him used as a plot device and simply die at the end really disappoints me.
Took the wife and daughter to watch it last night at the Latin Cinema, which was in Spanish, for the wife. They had one starting every single hour. It was packed when we went. Joke were still funny in Spanish. For what it was it was good. I couldn't stop thinking NATURAL BORN KILLERS, shades of it at least, story wise and characters. 🤘🤠
I like the movie. However, I hope that Carnage comes back in the MCU post Deadpool so that we can have some real carnage. And a perfect symbiosis. Cletus and Carnage are usually a perfect symbiosis, so hopefully the MCU Cletus Kasady will have a perfect bond with Carnage.
I think if we saw Carnage doing things like refusing to be in a wedding and arguing with Cledus a lot more, then we would have a better parallel dynamic that they were going for at the end. Venom and Eddie both say that they arent symbiotic, so that should have been emphasized a lot more. Even in a non action/non shriek scene where they argue.
More than the Spider-Man universe hype, I was actually more excited for the King of The Black set up when Venom talked about the hive mind. It might be decades in the future but the set up is there

A scene i thought was dumb, was when shriek was attacking the cop atop the church. She was literally killing him, hanging him from a chain around the neck. Carnage decided it was time to kill the girlfriend. So he picks her up, and climbs the church. Once atop, shriek decides that carnage has gone too far, and intervenes.. why? She was literally killing the cop, but carnage wanting to kill the girlfriend was TOO EVIL .. Dumb

Indeed, they are the PERFECT symbiote. In fact, their bond is so strong, it parallel's perfectly with Venom and Eddie because Venom just needs a host. Eddie is the one desperate for the symbiote -- their bond is a one sided stockholm syndrome. They messed that up majorly, along with his voice. His voice and size irritated me. He's supposed to be lean and sound high pitched and psychotic. If they would've fixed those two things and got rid of Shriek entirely, I would've loved this film.

I don’t like the fact that they made Carnage to have two different beings. Since the symbiote is inside Cletus body, that would mean he takes all control of it.
Not in defense of the movie, but Carnage is much more in control of Cletus than Cletus likes to admit. He just enjoys the ride and Carnage is naturally predisposed to do things that Cletus wants to do. I remember some lines from Carnage USA hinting towards him basically suggest he doesn't know if he's ever been in control or if he's just been okay with what's happening. But he had to talk Carnage into doing that entire plot line in the first place.
I mean they were never together. They only worked together so carnage can get to venom because cletus knew where and how to get to brock. So they were never together to begin with.

About the end credit scene, I don’t think anyone is talking about how the spell brought Venom in the MCU but it also didn’t make the world forget about Spider-Man or his secret identity it just announced it to the multiverse, and that’s how Doc Oc and the other villains get the drop on Pete as well as the other Spider men get called into action.
That would be interesting PLUS all the people Peter named that he didn't want to forget about him were the only ones who did forget. Like the reverse of the spell.

The amount of people that are impressed with this movie purely because it had that end credit scene is depressing. It could be the most average movie of the year but get hyped up because of that small addition 🤦♂️. Eddie Brock is too awkward and tweaky here and I couldn't care less about his love life...most of the film he was just bitching anyways "I just want to have a normal life *wah*". Venom behaves like a hyper 5 year old, I just don't like this version of Venom. He's the not-so-lethal protector here since we don't really get to see him be the anti-hero and kill the bad guys. Venom's not supposed to be cute dammit lol. We get an odd-couples banter sitcom with cringe jokes all over. Wonderful. Cletus Kasady is too violent and obscene to have him be on a damn pg-13 film, hence why Carnage is way too tame in this and why I wasn't looking forward to any of these Venom films. I liked the Carnage character design but his voice sounded too close to Venom's. Oh and here's Shriek for some reason idk, might need her later. I guess we'll give Cletus Kasady a love-interest too, which is essentially an oxymoron because Kasady is supposed to be the embodiment of evil and chaos. Lovely. Another issue I had with Carnage, is that he is supposed to be intertwined with Cletus' bloodstream. I didn't like how he was separated from him at the end before he died.
And another thing. Isn't Carnage supposed to be more resistant (if not fully resistant) to loud noises, compared to Venom and other symbiotes? Why did they change that here?
Venom is my all time favourite villain and I really can't care about this. Actually I hate this. There is nothing unique about Spider-Man and Venom fight if there is no development of the relationship between Peter and Eddie. It will just feel like a WWE match between two very popular wrestler. Marvel tried to do this right in Homecoming and Far From Home with the villains they used but seems like Sony doesn't care about the story at all. They just want quick money.

Here's the thing about cletus getting a symbiote via biting. It's not any less dumb than the comics, where venom literally just left his spawn laying around and one of them infects cletus.
Yeah but it’s still more dumb because anyone could acquire a symbiote that way. At least in the comics it was a rare event and them having an asexual spawn is better lore than consuming blood.
Actually it’s much dumber in this movie than in the comics, because if Cletus biting Eddie is enough to make Eddie/Venom bleed, then why doesn’t Venom coat the walls in symbiote/blood every time they’re shot? Venom is an alien that’s impervious to most forms of attack, so if a dude with an overbite can make Venom bleed, that’s some bad writing.
Which makes it even worse. If you're going to change it, atleast make it better or interesting. Instead it's literally forced and stupid as fuck.

About time. Literally the main thing to Venom's charachter is that he desires Peter Parker as a host more than anyone, including Eddie. He considers Spider-Man as the ultimate host and his literal absolutely perfect host. That's why after Venom bonds to Eddie he still resembles Spider-Man and makes "webs" of his own.
Nah he only tuned to Peter cause Peter was his first. He imprinted on venom, and venom actually hates him because while they sync perfectly, venom blames Peter for the negative sides to his character. As at the time we were to believe that symbiotes didn't have a personality until they bonded for the first time

Depending how big the story is for the media they'll keep coverage on the single story over a period of time like political stories or in this case a "major crime" or breakthrough story which it is so there we have it in context

I'm pretty sure the whole bitting venom thing was actually a callback to one of the comic runs
Venom and Carnage is my favorite comic book characters and these movies just makes sad,They could do so much more creative and serious stories with these characters but Sony keeps refusing to listen to fans and just wants some easy money every time with their lazy writing.They're trying so hard to make these movies look like its from MCU by ham fisting humor in it and not making it R rated.Tom Hardy Venom potrayal is good but we provably will never get a comic accurate Carnage ever.

So I think I can tell what makes me really like the movie is that I have not read a Carnage comic. The only intro to Carnage I had was the animated Spiderman series and the 2000 Spiderman game. So This movie was a serious step up and probably the best onscreen interpretation we're going to get.
Also when cletus girl all of a sudden changes her mind about killing at the end is so weird. The end was a cool fight visually, but didn't make sense. Carnage can't separate that easily.
Deciding to kill off Cletus is dumb.

It's gonna be the same thing over and over. Eddie and venom relationship problems, fighting another fuckin alien... About to fail, but suceeeds by venom finding its WAy back to Eddie Great.. We've seen that last time.
Not to be harsh but venom films only visually great, and fights are ok. Story, is broken
I suspect what'll happen is Venom will want to kill Toxin, because of the whole once every 10k Years a Super Symbiote is born, but is born crazy, and is afraid of what Toxin will become because of being Carnage's Spawn. So Venom will be the villain in the movie till the tail end.
@@Kilawpilath idk tho toxin is stronger than both of them, yet is a hero but kind of an anti villain too just like Eddie he fights justice but also needs to eat, and is brutal but toxin hates his parents just like any offspring symbiote or most at least. I guess who it bonds to idk the truth here im just saying stuff
But yeah I honestly just hope they (Sony) don't do anymore venom films at least maybe give its rights to marvel, at least the jokes would be cooler and choreography not just visuals
Well originally Venom can reproduce anytime he wants and he does not need anything... So I think they handled this one pretty good... Would be pretty dumb if he made offspring intentionally for Cletus since he is an anti-hero in these movies not an actual villain (yet) as he is in the comics.... Its pretty hard to think of different way how to create carnage when brock is not in the prison with Cletus as a prisoner....
So does that mean Venom has the memories of venom from Spiderman 3 ?

It wasn’t that Eddie got bit that made cletus carnage. It was that venom produced a offspring and it traveled into cletus from the bite by eddies blood. Like how in the comics cletus has a cut on his hand and the offspring falls into the cut and makes carnage.they just switched who’s blood it transfers from
Carnage can completely reconstruct from a single drop of blood, so hopefully someone in the MCU can do something more with him

@@caleblecrow2207 No, technically he’s right. Venom 2 wasn’t made by people running the MCU and Venom wasn’t in the MCU until that post-credit scene. After Venom 2, Venom is definitely in the same universe as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, but he’s not technically in the MCU unless they acknowledge Venom in some way.
Morbius has already been established as being in the same universe as well, but you can bet your ass Kevin Feige isn’t acknowledging Morbius in the MCU lol.
The MCU isn't the comics. They regularly nerf overpowered characters to not make them boring.

This movie definitely has to many diverging points and plots to where it feels bloated. I will say I wish there were more scenes like when Eddie uses his journalism skills to find the house where Cletus and shriek stayed at, but put it more towards finding carnage after he escapes and putting clues together. All it boils down to is add a bit of batman flavor to Eddie's arsenal.

Hate it when anybody other than the hero takes out the bad guy. Soon as Shriek was introduced I knew exactly how Carnage was going to be done in. Ruined the movie for me.

Listen the casting for Cletus Cassidy was perfect... but when I saw PG-13 I knew they weren't gonna do Carnage justice... the design of him was great to me but... I wanted Carnage to have a bit more Carnage... mans was supposed to be super OP and I don't think we got that.
Don’t worry all of the Sony properties and characters will be remade in the marvel universe. We’ll get marvels carnage one day. That’s the plan I bet.

I waited years to see carnage on the big screen after hearing so many rumors of Spider-Man 4 but to see him used as a plot device and simply die at the end really disappoints me.
Took the wife and daughter to watch it last night at the Latin Cinema, which was in Spanish, for the wife. They had one starting every single hour. It was packed when we went. Joke were still funny in Spanish. For what it was it was good. I couldn't stop thinking NATURAL BORN KILLERS, shades of it at least, story wise and characters.

To me the cops eyes at the end were the same blue hue as Shriek and Shriek did say you can’t kill a ghost, so I imagine Shriek now inhabits the cop

I like the movie. However, I hope that Carnage comes back in the MCU post Deadpool so that we can have some real carnage. And a perfect symbiosis. Cletus and Carnage are usually a perfect symbiosis, so hopefully the MCU Cletus Kasady will have a perfect bond with Carnage.
Considering that the film is rated PG-13, it couldn't do Carnage justice.
I think if we saw Carnage doing things like refusing to be in a wedding and arguing with Cledus a lot more, then we would have a better parallel dynamic that they were going for at the end. Venom and Eddie both say that they arent symbiotic, so that should have been emphasized a lot more. Even in a non action/non shriek scene where they argue.
carnage is not supposed to be a giant , venom is big in the comic but carnage is human size

More than the Spider-Man universe hype, I was actually more excited for the King of The Black set up when Venom talked about the hive mind. It might be decades in the future but the set up is there

To be fair, Carnage’s love for Shriek is accurate. Hell, her getting injured was the reason why Carnage admitted defeat during his fight with Deadpool.
The love was accurate, until the end fight. Couldn't stand Shriek becoming the reason Carnage losing. Her sudden change of heart not to kill Ann was complete shit.
