    Nettle is just such an underrated plant, simply miraculous. It grows literally everywhere. All you need is two cups per day, in the form of a tea, to detoxicate your body. Same goes with St. John's wort, dandelion, horsetail, goldenrod or a cistus. Also get yourself a pot of an aloe plant. Profit.

      In my country we use no gloves to increase blood circulation. The grannies beat their joints with it due to arthritis pain.
      If you want long Har make a scrub from sugar powdered dry nettles and Hanna. Rub in in good and leave it as long as you can. Wash and use very mind shampoo conditioner combo

We live on four acres away from any highways. Now that I have the information I need, I will be harvesting from a sloping triangle patch that is about 12x12x20 ft. I am excited to know that this is exactly the right time to start harvesting. Thank you so much!!

    In the Caucasus, the stinging property of the nettle is used to treat arthritis. My mother in law tells of how her mother used to line her bed with the leaves and then get into bed wearing only her underwear so that the stinging would increase blood flow and help her joints. For me, I’m not sure I could endure it, but it does comfort me when I’m harvesting and get some sting.

    I love this video. I feel like I’ve levelled up just watching it. You are so genuine. Thank you ❤ Big question for you, very important for me to know, could Nettle Tea be combined with say another tea or herbal tea like Red Tea or a Turmeric blend? Maybe as a subtle micro dose to a pre-existing tea routine. And if you have an opinion of the practice of blending different teas or herbals I’d be interested in your thoughts. I believe I’ve reached “heal by beverage” status over the past few years. I’ve felt enormous gains.

      yes, that's a cool way to dry them. I would not leave them out like this for weeks though as they lose potency when exposed to sunlight over a long period of time. Stored in a jar they can last easily till next nettle season!

      I drink nettle tea daily, generally buying the pre-packaged tea bags from my local health food store. Although in the autumn I have plenty of fresh nettle in my backyard and have begun harvesting and steeping the leaves raw in a pot of water. It's best to not boil nettle. A simmer is all you need for the plants to release all of their green, earthy goodness. You can even cold brew fresh nettle leaves in a container in your fridge but it takes 24 hours or longer to create a tea.
      I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice but have done a lot of research on the subject, being a 53 year old gout sufferer myself. That said, some studies show that drinking nettle tea on a regular basis is a great preventative against a painful gout attack. Perhaps even more so than the pharmaceutical products you mention. Start a regimen of drinking nettle tea daily for at least 2 weeks before you can expect to see any benefits. I brew a cup in the evenings and let it steep all night, sipping it cold if I awake in the night, then down the remainder when I wake, which is usually when your body is dehydrated so I feel it gets into your system quicker. I have found that you can skip a day or two here and there in your daily regimen without depleting your body of the health benefits of nettle.
      It's difficult getting away from pharmaceuticals all together if you suffer from gout. The drug Indometacin works well if you need fast pain relief but it can significantly alter your mental state, leaving you groggy, severely dizzy and in a haze for many hours. But if you absolutely have to walk, I have not found a comparable natural alternative unfortunately. Colchicine is another drug that works well for acute attacks, whereas nettle does not help (in my experience) if you already have a gout attack underway. I am still searching for a herbal remedy that can help during an acute attack but haven't found one myself. Good luck in your journey to better health!

    Do we need to boil the leaves to remove burning sensation before using for soup or smoothies ?

      @GutFeelings  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, just put them raw in a smoothie and blend.

    I wonder if the "stinging " part of this could cause an allergic reaction in some people ?

    Yes.
    Just found you, watched a couple of your videos. I too think you're gorgeous.
    I like that you take the time to post in the video description what is in video, that way I can keep information in screenshots.
    .
    You mentioned in another video about asthma benefits. I have a sister with lung fibrosis issues, she's 60 years old. I can't imagine nettles hurting, what is the best or bests method to aid her?

      Thank you, Mike!
      I had asthma myself... it's tough! Celery juice, a super clean diet and nettle tea (if she likes as extra support) would be best.
      If you want to get her started in the "clean but doable diet-direction" check out this, e.g. as a present for her...

    I’ll be trying to drink nettle tea everyday as hay fever season approaches. I’ll also be ditching dairy (as much as poss) - I will bet my house that it doesn’t work.

      @@GutFeelings I also have one other question for you. I see the dentist and my teeth and gums are suffering from acid reflux. She told me to start using digestive enzymes. She also said to ask what food combinations are not working for me. She wants me to get to the root of the acid reflux as my dentist so that she can stop filling my teeth. It is so frustrating to me and I don't know what to do exactly. protein inhibitor pills are not good for me, But is all that the doctor is prescribing.

    I heard you can’t harvest them while they’re seeding or after, and the best time to harvest them is before seeding….

    • @GutFeelings
      @GutFeelings  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the oxidation proccess. They are OK to eat but I'd rather use them for tea and pick fresh ones for a soup or salad.
