Great live we have done nearly 60 cruise s we always use to go with Thomson (15)years ago but the air con was bad there ships didn't have many balconies then so I couldn't cope with the heat. But the crew where always went above and beyond, the food was always good as was the entertainment. You have just made me look at them again I know you reviews are always spot on thanks for all your hard work
Paul Horizon was another old Celebrity ship which I sailed on in 2007 when she was the Island star after that she went to Pullmantur and was scrapped during the covid cull
Hi Carole, I bet you will think ,'Bloody hell, she is here again !' But I know I keep asking, but when are you going to show the videos for Queen Victoria from last year? It is the only cruise you have never shown. Is it because there was something wrong with the cruise? I hope you show it soon. I am due to sail in November. Keep up the good work. Debbie
Lol no problem, there was nothing wrong, it was a great cruise! Actually, we have 5 cruises that we haven't had a chance to do vlogs from Regal Princess Halloween, QV Spain, QM2 Norway, Celebrity Beyond Med,Nieuw Amsterdam Caribbean. Sadly, there are just not enough hours in the day, so not sure if or when they will get done!
@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel Wow! You have been on more cruises than I realised. Nice. Oh well, I will just have to go without your tips and recommendations .😆 They have been very valuable to myself and friends I send your vlogs onto. I hope we get to see more of Voyager. We did an 18 day repositioning cruise back from the Carribbian on Explorer 2 back in April. Like you, I prefer both the Discovery ships for the same reason too. No propper atrium. The one on Sky Princess is the best for me. For its beauty and the way it is planned out. Bar on deck 5 is really good. Thanks for always answering. Deb.x
Are y’all thinking about getting some Paul and Carole swag? Shirts with “Right Then!” and I thought of another….”ANYway!” that’s for you Paulie Morgan 😁
Hi Paul & Carole, never cruised before so doing lots of research 😉 I know gratitude is included in the cost of Marella cruises but is it the done thing to tip anyone, cabin steward for example? Thanks x
We always tip our cabin steward if he has looked after us well, and then if there are anyone who we feel has gone above and beyond we tip them too which can be difficult as the service is usually excellent on Marella.
Hi! First time cruisers here, Joining Voyager in July. Your videos have been very helpful, thank you. A question, my duaghter has a peanut allergy, do the food places recognise allergies? Do you know if they are able to cater for peanut allergies? Appreciate that it may have not been a question you have had to ask... Thank you 😊
I haven't watched this video of yours yet, but I'd like to leave some comments for your viewers. The Celebrity Mercury (now the Marella Voyager) was once a lovely ship with a fantastic crew of Greek officers, excellent food (no extra charge for lobster, steak, etc.) and well-trained Eastern European waiters in the dining room. From just viewing another vlogger's tour of this ship, we think the ship and restaurants look pitiful., with the possible exception of the formal dining room, still dressed with tablecloths. The high-end artwork is gone, public rooms have been chopped up and there appears to be a bunch of extra charge restaurants serving very poor quality food. It's very sad for us to see, because we cruised on her as the Mercury when she was just 5 years old, and that's TWENTY years ago. We had a lovely time then, but that's when she was a Celebrity ship. There used to be an indoor thalassotherapy pool forward that appears to be gone. Mostly, though, is how "chopped up" the ship appears to be now and upcharges throughout the ship for what looks to be an inexpensive food hall experience. I wish you could have seen and experienced the Mercuy when she was at her best....
I know, and I did as I worked on the Celebrity Horizon in the early 1990's as a nurse and it was the same class of ship. Guess they have to move forward and modernise after all that time, obviously isn't going to suit all tastes. We tried all the speciality restaurants on board and we found the food to be very good and it was refreshing having a different concept with the Kitchens. Minimal self service which is always a good thing when it comes to infection control and also cuts down on waste. We were disappointed in no therapy pool as we do enjoy a bit on spa time, so we had a look around but didn't spend any time there which was a shame!
In the MDR, and all included restaurants you can wear tailored shorts. In the speciality restaurants it says Smart dress code. We didn't see anyone in tailored shorts everyone had trousers on.
Ive thoroughly enjoyed watching your Voyager videos, I’m boarding in August so you’ve got me even more excited! X
Thanks! It's a great ship!
Glad you have your boxes Carole! It is great to save things so you can refer others to the info you have collected! I love it!
Yes it works well, know exactly where everything is!
The size of the Marella Voyager sounds perfect and the right amount of people too!
Yes great size ship!
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel I do agree that the SIZE of the ship is great.
You two are amazing and make me lol so much! We are booked on Marella Voyager in October and can’t wait now. Thank you so much
Oh thank you! Glad you enjoy our videos and hope you have a great time in October!

Thanks so much! Love that saying spot on, my Dad used to always say that! Plenty of balconies and air con on their new fleet so you should be OK!

Yes, remember now, as it was the ship Carole worked on the the early 90's!
Yes, I love your top too Carole!
Thank you! ☺️
I see several others keep the mementos of cruises too!
Lol yes they do!

Aww im late 😮 I will catch up 😊 hope you had an amazing time xx
No problem, enjoy!
Regarding dress code on Marella, it can be embarrassing. By the way we're on Voyager in September and I won't be packing my tuxedo.
It is anything goes!
Yes, it looks very tacky, and we don't like formal wear.

They do, the waiters will always ask in the restaurants. Make yourself known to the maitre'd in all the restaurants too so they are aware.
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel Perfect! Thank you so much x

What about excursions? What do they cost?
We did an excursion to St Tropez and Grimald and it was £60.
