@@Dave-ir3gj How is Joe Biden responsible for the lack of affordable housing everywhere?? You're not considering WHO owns these our-of-reach apts that are springing up everywhere. These complexes are built by Investors who are looking to make Profits!! They hang onto them only long enough to build equity and then sell or refinance them, ensuring that rents Stay high or increase!
It's all about fast ROIs-returns on investment/s and $$$. Always the dollars.
So how is Biden responsible for their greed?? Bring it on!

Knowing full well these corporations are all in kahoots paying low wages.... it's worse than the real estate people making millions from renting out single family homes saying "its a free capitalist country! I should have my debts paid down to zero in three months and then I will begin saving for a down payment on an old van I plan on converting for me and my cat to live in. Without the $1,355 rent expense I will have the money to save up for a truck camper. With a plan and strict dedication to that plan nearly anyone can slowly build to the point where they can escape the rent trap and eventually escape the wage slave trap. But civilization is failing and those that don't escape by 2030 may have missed their chance and get sucked into the vortex of humanitarian disaster that will ensue when enough of civilization fails that it all collapses everywhere all at once. Being mobile in a vehicle you own offers the best chance for the poor of surviving what will come soon.

Where did they spend that money? Not on homelessness. I live here I know what I see. And the cost of housing is trying to catch up with CA without the CA wages. $2000 for a studio of any worth. And the landlords can just keep raising and raising. No law against it and no improvement to these properties. A bill was brought to the State congress to cap these rents but it didn’t pass. The democratic Mayor and other leaders in this state have defunded the police, and decriminalized everything, so these homeless can be very dangerous. They don’t get arrested, they don’t go to jail. The police in my community are wonderful and there are resources but these homeless don’t follow thru. Especially the addicted homeless, they would rather be homeless and high than follow any rules to get help. If arrested they are handled with kid gloves then set free. There needs to be some really tough love here. It is out of control and dangerous! This used to be a beautiful place to live. There were no “bad” areas. Not anymore. So if we are third who’s first and second? More democratic cities that do nothing? These liberals here, do a lot of virtual signaling then do nothing!

Addressing homelessness in our country is far from a perfect science. Without government funding, the number of people affected would only increase. Many factors contribute to homelessness, and laziness is not one of them. This is a multifaceted issue that goes beyond political blame and requires a significant investment of both time and resources to create lasting effects.

Back in 2007 I could live on my own in a 1 bedroom apartment with my wife on a single income of 13 dollars an hour. Not even joking.

The middle men getting their cut is so often overlooked. It helps that people conveniently blame the government - while helping businesses corrupt it.

Makes sense. Washington State is one of the deepest and darkest of blue/left states that have most of the highest homeless populations in the nation.

It would be interesting to have some actual metrics on the homeless like where they came from, how long they have been homeless, what caused them to become homeless etc....

Every city and state should do a monthly audit covering tax dollars. It should include a breakdown covering usage and the distribution of funds. This should be recorded publicly and made available to all citizens. Also, any organization, agencies, or groups utilizing the funds should also be included in the monthly audits.

Nothing to do with blue or red. It is an explosion of tech jobs and displacement of people who aren't tech. We need to build more housing especially apartments and not American dream houses.

We need more apartments, this isn't caused by red or blue. This is due to explosion of high paying tech jobs.

@@lchaneystop whining about tax cuts for the rich. Thats such an uneducated talking point. You realize Trump taxed rich people more than the middle class his first term right? And for the record, the party of billionaires is the democrat party.

the 2017 tax law’s cuts for the 1 percent and 5 percent were triple the tax reductions for anyone in the bottom 60 percent.

This is absolutely shameful and sad. Corporate America is as much to blame as any drug addiction. Many homeless have jobs but have been outpriced in the rental market. To imply that the homeless are all drug addicts is LAZY reporting!
