Kitchen Shelf Styling || Mixing New & Old

I have a new direction for my styling and I couldn't wait to share some of my thoughts with you on the direction I envision moving forward. I have collected some new decor as well as vintage and antique pieces and today I'll be experimenting with it all to see how it comes together, taking inspiration from Amber Lewis and Amber Interiors. This is a great video. Even though our decorating stylea may be different (i.e., primitive vs. English cottage, etc.), your suggestions are helpful to all. I love how you have the things you want to use nearby so it makes your decorating much easier. When you said you didn't want to be running around looking for things, I laughed because that is me. LOL. The end result of that is I don't get anything done and become frustrated. Thank you for sharing your expertise - I know it will help me a lot. You are just so adorable, Jennifer. It looks lovely. Im glad the pieces (or similar) will be in glass hutch ultimately. The dusting would kill me on normal shelves. How does it work our, using the plates for meals? Has it been easy enuf to grab the dishes to use at mealtimes?

Hello! So good to hear from you. Yes, the dusting is a nightmare, but for now, the dishware in the shelves are new and not something we currently use on a daily basis (the white dishes are not new). Our every day dishware is in the cupboard. I agree that if you want to use dishes, you would need to have them at least behind a closed cabinet of some sort. I do love all the neutrals, but I think I'll add some pops of color in the new house once I get it all decided on.
I just can't wait to style up our new kitchen. I have to tell myself to be patient, God has a plan for us and our build. Blessings ❤
