For selling ships there's a trick to vastly increase your profit by simply doing the sale thru your menu instead of the ship vendor. The registration cost is significantly cheaper for whatever reason and the sale price of the ship is also increased by a lot.

The registration fee is cheaper through your inventory because of the commerce skill making it whatever %cheaper versus through a ship vendor where it actually makes it more expensive because the value of the ship you want to sell goes up bc of your commerce skill which proportionally makes the registration fee go up too because the fee is like 83% of the value of the whole or something like that

You can join the crimson fleet by doing the United colonies missions
At new Atlantis, go to the police station, in the locker room is a key card, that opens a storage room on the opposite end of the landing port. Either persuade the person to open the door or use the card. On the shelf is contraband worth over 12k

In the wolf system, theres a space station with a trade order booth where you can sell contraband, idk about stolen stuff
You can sell stolen stuff or contraband at the crimson fleet in KRYK or the den at WOLF east of SOL

Or you can just go to bessel, find a spot where 3 biomes of desert, hills, and mountains meet and then find a spot with Iron, aluminum, cobalt , and nickel. Set up an outpost and build up your extraction capabilities, storage and finally setup fabricators to automate the process of manufacturing components which you can either pick up and sell set up a cargo link to your main outpost wherever that may be.
