Just seen your in dallas i bought some sedici gear from cycle gear in plano. Im a first time rider and dude i perfer the cold i cant imagine how hot it gets in the summers.
i enjoy riding in the cold over summer for sure. i just hate how much i had to layer but i mean it’s definitely still better than riding in the heat sweating my ass off. especially when riding in leathers? i’m not ready for summer.
If you wanna ride through the whole winter, layer up. Anything that breaks the wind from hitting you is key. For the hands, put some hand guards on the bars and then buy some Tusk Cold Pro hand mitts. They are maximum level dorky, but you will not find anything that keeps your hands warmer. Heated grips will work when paired with something like that. For clutch less shifting, it doesn't actually damage your transmission at all if you're doing it properly. I rarely used my clutch back when I had my MT-09, my old SV650's, my WR250R, or even now on my new Africa Twin. It shocks me that people don't know about doing that these days, it's a perfectly normal thing and a quick shifter is just automating that process for you electronically 😂 A quick shifter is not a magical device, all they do is automatically cut your throttle then snap it back on when the transmission slips into the next gear.
I’ll look into those mits, thanks for the recommendation. I really want to ride year round but I honestly need some winter tires and better gear. My tires might as well be slip and slides when they are cold lol
@ man I hope you got something good. I already got heated gloves (if I’m being honest they are cheap ones that’s aren’t very good), that I wear under winter gauntlets. after about 5 minutes of 70MPH I’m looking like Dumb and Dumber when they ride into Aspen! 🥶 aside from heated grips which I don’t have the money for currently I can’t think of much else I can do other than dumping a whole buncha money into fully heated riding gear. Need heated socks and face mask too. 80MPH in 29°F is enough to chill me down to the bone!
no no i agree with the clutchless shifting. fuck yea bro you do that shit right it definitely won’t cause damage. it’s the attempting to do it and failing at the attempt. i don’t have it perfected idk what i said but it clearly was about damaging the trans. yea i dont have it perfected yet.
@ I’m from the USA so I’m talking Fahrenheit lol. No wonder you thought 17° was warm. That would be -8° to you! but 17°C is like 63°F so it’s pretty comfortable. you’d die at 86°F (30°C)? I don’t have a max temperature I won’t ride in, I’ve ridden from 100°F (38°C) to 29°F (-2°C) but am trying to get gear to go colder cause I wanna ride year round.

Cold is winning currently, my man. It’s 17° when I get off work 🥶
lol 17° is plenty warm for me actually!
@ what tires do you ride on? I might as well be riding on an ice slick for like the first 30-40 minutes when it’s under like 35°
@@Winky_Face Wait what. I'm confused are we talking Celsius or Fahrenheit? Any temperature above 30° and I'll die of a heat stroke lol
