I claim I am going to be a responsible frugal adult, good with the finances, but I know I'll be spending all my early wages on your courses.
As you were explaining clichés, I thought of one of my favorite things about lyrics: It's when I mishear a line in a song, then check the lyrics and say "Oh, but what I originally heard was so much better" and such. It's like plagiarism, but not really.
Me: I'm gonna spend some money responsibly and join Clifford's course

I’m glad as a singer-songwriter, I already have my own meaning in my lyrics/statements because I make sure my lyrics aren’t abstract, cliché, or vague.
The way my mind works, I print out this outline from my brain that translates everything that I thought of saying into paper, and I make sense out of it. My way.

Sleeping at Last somehow avoids feeling cliche. He writes really deep, introspective lyrics and uses romantic, sentimental, poetic language filled with metaphor and imagery to do so... but I can honestly say the way he talks about things always feels incredibly personal and every time I listen to it it makes me think of something else deep and profound. Just look at the lyrics to Joy... every line is a metaphor for how we find joy in our lives and what it's effect is like (or the song Anger does a similar thing with... well, anger). Or look at Uneven Odds, telling a girl who lost her mother at a young age that it isn't fair but it's not the end... What I'm saying is his songs should be cheesy... but they're not... Sappy maybe, but also profound.

Wait oh god my first song is like all clichés
But that's mostly because it was a) my first song and b) it was about dropping out of honors biology and the emotions I felt but I didn't want anybody to know

God I was so cliché but also REALLY OVERDRAMATIC ABOUT DROPPING OUT OF HONORS BIOLOGY
This video was really helpful! I wrote a song that was just some feelings I had to let go and I used a cliche in it, so it wasn’t quite as personal as I wanted it to be
