Why does everyone want a photo with me?! [Sumatra Day 1]

- There were so many more instances of more people taking photos with me - I'm not even kidding when I say it happened every 5 mins! Does anyone know why? Leave it in the comments below cuz it blew my mind! I've never been bombarded that much before!

@@arrafi204 its because caucasian is completelty different looking race from indonesian perspection, and its rare to see since most people cant go outside the country
if we see black man, we still can assume it from east indonesia
if we meet japanese or korean (east asia race) we can assume it indonesian-chinese
if we meet latin, its still look like indonesian (there a time me and my friend guiding a chile tourist, and kids not really taking photo because this woman is still looking like indonesian because you know, latin have same skin, not that white)

@@arrafi204 iam an Indonesian, but like in Bali many tourists go there cuz of the beautiful beaches and stuff, but in other cities people(citizens of Indonesia) can't really afford to travel to bali because of the price to go there, if they're seriously traveling to bali, it's because they really looking forward to find a job there, many of Indonesian people travel to other cities for jobs, and unlike in europe or western countries Indonesia has a lower economic status then europe or ya, other western countries, and we live differently so ya, it's not BS from what he is actually saying, because Indonesia has many islands and cities and The people living there cant really afford going to the popular places filled with western people, they either have seen them on TV or never at all, and in Sumatra it is one of the cities that is filled with amazing animals, so tourists is also starting to go there for the unique animals like sumatran tiger, orangutans and shiz

holy shit looks like a true untouched gem of southeast Asia, looks like what i always imagined the first backpackers in SEA who established the banana pancakes route would've come across. I love it! this is true travel, thanks so much for being brave and taking the leap with the unknown for this trip, especially since u were alone! loved watching it!

Hahaha! That's weird and funny. Perhaps they those kid got their 1st time to see white person in real life and they think you're a celebrity. Those kids just showing their respect when they placed head to your hand. It's traditional sign to respect older people they know particularly family or any person older people. That is a part of the culture to warmly welcome a guest. In another way, taking pictures. We believe that smile is the most inexpensive gift. Hope you didn't feel bother on those sincere kids. However, culture gradually changes, you would not have seen this kinda situation in big cities of Indonesia. Enjoy!

I was in bali last week and I noticed that allot of people wanted to take a picture with me... I really didnt know why but they were cute and nice.
At some place in Indonesia never visit by tourist ,so they so happy and very welcome, especially from Europe tourist,they think Europe tourist unique also pretty and handsome,thats why they want take picture with you and it honor for them

Same thing happened when my class took a field trip to beijing china lol. All the kids and elders wanted to take photos with my white and black classmates but not the asian ones ahahaha. It was both cute and funny.

CurrentlyHannah It’s also a stereotype that exists in Russia. My dad went on a school exchange in 1993 and everyone wanted to talk to them and everyone knew they were Americans because they were happy and talkative. When I went to Russia in 2015, they knew I was American because I have Cerebral Palsy and they hide their disabled people away. When I transferred in Frankfort, they wanted to know why I was un-chaperoned.
To me, the Australian accent is “friendly”. My second cousin married an Australian and moved there in 1968. I bet his wife’s accent was part of what of what initially hooked him. 😀
My cousins live between Melbourne and Newcastle though the family home is in Euroa.
Before Matthew Mcconaughey was famous, he worked in Australia and went back to Texas with an Austrian accent instead of his Texas accent. 😀
